Welcome adventurers to the Clifftop Adventurers Guild, where many capable and reliable adventurers come to relax, drink, and even find work. We work tirelessly to find the right problem solvers for each coming client in need. Globally ready to acquire, slay, or negotiate on any grounds, from the Talenta Plains, to the Demon Wastes, even down to Xen'drik. Thanks to the cooperation of guilds all (mostly) around we're able to send our members from here to there, there to here, or plane to plane (Very rare, we are not responsible for any planar travel illnesses or injuries) . So come to Clifftop Adventurers Guild, if you're looking for an adventurer or you're looking for adventure, come see us.
Hello all and welcome to an experimental take. Where instead of single plot line, I'll make various one-shots (Totally never connecting to each other unless you all crash an airship into Sharn.) . And as this is based in Eberron, it features most of their content so their source books are highly recommended but not needed (Human fighters, the norm of the norm.). Although the few restrictions I place is due to how rare (or plain weird, no tarrasques, please.) they are. So as follows, these races are restricted.
Drow (Considered too rare)
Triton
Centaur
Loxodon
Simic Hybrid
Vedalken
Verdan
Locathath
Gith
And as most legends they must start from humble beginnings so all adventurers shall start from level one. There shall be no class limitations nor ban on multiclassing. And I'm fine with most backgrounds, the exception being GGtR material and Haunted One (God its vague.)

Any applications should be sent via PM as this thread will hold the recruitment for one-shots, downtime and bar fights. Most shall be accepted if they follow the guidelines, except for a Swarm of Bats. Anyone that applies as a Swarm of Bats shall be shot on sight, with arrows, bolts, guns, magic missiles, and Hugo(Juggernaut Warforged, likes hugs) . If accepted, they have freedom to introduce their character in the forum and participate in drinking, reading, and trying to flirt with our bartender, (She pretends to not care but she really cares).
And to clarify on what kind of establishment the C.A.G. is, I'll borrow an excerpt from the sourcebook to describe the guildhall and the area around it.
The Clifftop Adventurers’ Guild headquarters is the physical and social center of its district, a massive stone edifice built with the riches acquired over a lifetime of adventuring. Part quiet library, part comfortable inn, part active gymnasium, and part rowdy tavern, the guildhall contains practically every facility adventurers could need to train, study, and socialize. The neighborhood around it caters to adventurers’ other needs with its variety of shops and services.
And as such, characters accepted into the C.A.G. are free to sleep, research, and train at the guildhall. And with recent acceptions and newly formed parties, guild helpers/attendants shall be known as hirelings, able to help and assist with most matters centered around the guild. They are mostly for manual and menial labor of the guild's staff, doing paperwork, serving adventurers drinks, library work, and other duties. Specialized roles will receive a dedicated NPC for such tasks.
As such, dedicated NPC will have a profile here in the first post. It will have an rough image (Pixel art) of their image and a brief info of their character.
Meet Cerre, the Kalashtar who works as the receptionist. As being the first person to see once one enters the guildhall, her calm demeanor and soothing telepathy helps both clients and adventurers to give the most information possible for job requests. Along with being able to communicate with nearly all the hirelings in the guildhall, she is able to quickly and precisely prepare all documents, meetings, and calls for adventurers.
Nasaar moves over to a rough and scratched wooden table in the corner and takes a seat. He is a powerfully-built Hobgoblin, with reddish skin, a blue nose, and gray eyes. His dark-gray hair is military-short. He sets a bulging pack to one side of the table, right in the corner of the room, and then takes a seat with his back to a wall. A long sword is at his side, and he adjusts it as he sits so it lays easily in reach. A shield can be seen attached to the pack he set in the corner, also easily in his reach. Cool gray eyes scan the room, taking in the others there.

Caram is sitting at the end of the bar nursing a drink, he is dressed well enough if not a bit disheveled. A simple polished club hangs at his waist alongside a dagger in a common sheath. It seems like sitting on a bar stool is second nature to the him and he only gives the barest of glances at the arriving hobgoblin. He downs the last of it and lightly raps his knuckles on the bar, signalling another round to the bar keep. It is quite apparent he is a few drinks in already.
Bronwen sits towards the back of the room on a simple stool, taking in everything to see with fascination, while hardly new to a tavern or city it was the first time he sat in one an adventurer. He wore a dark cloak with the hood down, simple tan pants held up with a belt that had his rapier attached on one side and a dagger the other. His shirt was similarly simple and somewhat too big so as to fit over the leather chest piece he called armor. Next to him sat a short bow and his quiver, and if one could see inside his heavy worn boots they would find his second dagger. Bronwen himself was clearly elven in build his has body structure and characteristic pointed ears, however one would have trouble discerning which variety having short curly black hair, and green eyes common in most elves. Further his skin was more like that of humans in colour.
As a reference for future jobs, this shall be a short explanation on how some one shots will operate.
Job Offer - This will refer to the One Shot's title
Example of Work - Will clarify if the one shot is more RP focused, Encounter focused or a mix of both
Client - The one who set up the recruitment. You will meet them at the start of the one shot but will know their name via Job Offer.
Description of work - The client will have an estimation on what kind of trouble you may face, but may or may not know the full scale of the problem. Use this to your advantage when preparing before a job. Characters will have a chance to buy equipment after talking with the client.
Number of adventurers - As clients' pockets are not endless, there will be a set limit to how many adventurers can partake. In the beginning one-shots, they will be set but in the later ones they will be more open. (Ex: For level ones, a limit of 5; For level 10, a limit to 5-7)
Level - This is a non existent listing, on there to simply provide what level adventurers can take on the offer. As to not have a level 10 showboat and gloat about how their carrying a group of level ones.
Reward - This is the base reward you shall receive per character. Any spoils you find during the adventure is up to the client's discretion. Any loot arguments can be held privately, publicly, or with a simple contest in either the one-shot or here in the forum. (Ex. a private flip the coin, a brawl, or a drinking contest.)
To apply to the one shot, one must simply show interest in it via RP

Hugo looks to the parchment, slowly reading the contents. And after it clicks in his head, he goes to see the receptionist. "Hugo want to help Henri."
After Kiryl manages to wake from his drunken stupor, he groggily inspects the offer board. After stumbling his way to the front desk, he slurs "Gimme a job that'll settle my tab."
A fair maiden with shimmering robes inspects the board from afar with her seeing glass. And with a simple wave, the receptionist receives a sending, "I'll participate in this excursion to Yarkuun Draal."
As long as the message gets across to the reception desk, you will be added. And to note, this way does operate a first come, first serve. Although if one takes a job offer, they cannot take another until their current one is done.
Bronwen just noticing the offer board, gets up and heads over to it, inspecting the possible quests, his eyes settle on one by a Henri Tallow "This looks like a good, easy to get used to the adventuring gig." He heads over to the reception desk and says to the person there, "I'm not sure how to officiate this, but I'd like to put my name down for this Yarkuun Draal."
Caram briefly looks over the posting not really keen on several points, mainly 'nature' and 'wolves' and 'den' but the pay was drew him in. Especially the pay anyway, bashing a few wolves for that much? Add in his just plain weakness to the word 'search'. That was his speciality anyway, might as will stay in his lane.
He called the Keep over and said, "Tell Heneri, Hanri... Henri, that I will work for him."
Nasaar, seeing everyone checking out this listing board, moves over to take a look himself. With a shrug he moves to the desk and nods to the staff there. "I'll give a hand on this listing." He says with a nod to the board.
(DM, I am a blind player, so I could not read the listing you posted as an image. Any way I can have those posted as text as well?)
Caram overhears the hulking hobgoblin signing up and speaks up, "Well, happy to have a bruiser like you going along. Let's just hope we can feed those wolves a whopping rather than an us buffet. You know what I'm saying?" His words are slightly slurred but his mannerisms and focus of his eyes seem to be sharp.
"We will do what is needed." Nasaar says, completely confident in his abilities. He moves back to his table and retakes his seat. "Join me?" He asks as an almost afterthought to Caram. "I am Nasaar." He nods to a chair at his table.
He takes up his mug and walks slowly with only a so slight stumble to the table and sits with Nasaar. He points with his mug at Bronwen, "Hey, cloak guy, come join us. We might as well get to know each other before we head out!"
Turning back to Nasaar, "I'm Caram, happy to meet you. Full disclosure, first time going in to any ruins other than the truly dumpy bars."
Folas walks out of the shadows where he's been watching silently. He's dressed in simple monk garb and is carrying a backpack and quarterstaff. He's a bit rough around the edges as far as elves go and on the tallish side, and he walks with an air of calm confidence.
Folas glides over to the posting, takes a quick scan, and says "I'll help with this."
Delve into Yarkuun Draan Protection Client: Henri Tallow I am in need of protection. My senior has asked me to look into the ruins nearby Sharn, to help him wiht another site. But upon traveling to the ruin, I found it overtaken by nature and even worse, with wolves founding a den there. I need help to search the ruins and I'm willing to pay for it. Max Party of 5 Reward: 100 gold each and whatever you may find in the ruins
As Belegak get close to the mission board, he read the words ¨traveling to ruins¨ and he es sold!!, Exited he jogs directly to the reception desk ¨Hello...? i want to take the mission about the ruins, is there an open spot? when do we go? helloooooo¨ Belegak then tries to look around to see if anyone else is getting ready to go for the mission.
Bronwen heads over to the table with his new partners. He takes a seat opposite them both and looks them down before speaking, "So, how long have you two been 'adventurers'?"
A meduim build half-orc enters through the door. He has light brown-gray skin with short and parted brown hair and a pair of bifocals. His clothing is very clean consisting of a brown overcoat, a light brown paisley vest, white under shirt, tan pants and tall brown boots. A long sword hangs from under his overcoat. Adorned on the chest of the overcoat is a brass badge with the Harpers symbol and "Investigator" stamped at the bottom.
The half orc scans the room looking for anyone that he recognizes from prior encounters and wanted poster. The half orc turns and nods to the bartender before walking over to the board and takes a look at the posts. He stands there for a moment, listening to the conversations in the room. The half orc will look over at the bartender, point to the sign and nod in approvals. After reading over the post and hearing the other interested in the job, the half orc makes his way over to the table where the others are.
"Seems you're all interested in the job post. Mind if I tag along?" You get the sense that the request is not really a request. "Brozznan Kane, Investigator for the Sharn City Watch. I don't recognize any of you boys, so that's a good start. When are you all ready to head out?"
