The black inky tentacle follows close behind the silvery moonlight. It's darkness making the moonlight appear almost beautiful to Thwack. It's damaging properties though, keep him from running to pass his claw through its beam. He inches towards the W hall. "We gonna kill this last one proper? No fall over, stand up, fall over again."
Peri climbs through the wreckage of the barricades in the front hall and peers out into the face of the storm. He sees little outside but blackness and wind. An archway in the fortress’s outer wall provides an exit from the large courtyard in front of him, filled with vegetable gardens and a small orchard of stunted apple trees, rocking in the gusty winds.
Meanwhile, Qivys approaches the southern doors of the scullery, and finds the door and barricade still intact and untouched.
Boko sends the moonbeam down the western hallway, followed at a distance by Thwack's spectral tentacle, together with Gerrard, Thwack, and Boko. They pass by a bricked-up door of some sort; you notice that a doorway in the north wall has been sloppily bricked over. Approaching the corner of the hall, you get a glimpse of the errant corpse. It has smashed its way into a dark, dank chamber to the west.
(We will now return to initiative order, starting with Boko and Peri.)
Peri retreats back into the scullery. "The courtyard looks all clear. If you finish that one off I think that's all of 'em. I'll do a quick lookaround to check, though."
He heads to the stairs to check out the top floor.
((The main doors were half-heartedly barricaded, having been breached before. Peri expected them to be smashed open as the most likely way in. He was checking outside to make sure there wasn't a second wave of zombies. Qivys already checked the doors to the rat room, so Peri is just checking for any other entrances.))
Peri heads upstairs. He concludes that the Drowned Blades indeed must have smashed their way through the barricaded front doors (4 on the map) while you were resting in the Kitchen.
Boko sends her moonbeam into what you can now see is an old storeroom (15 on the map) – a round chamber that appears to be the bottom floor of the bell tower. This damp, dark tower room smells of rot and mildew. The floor glistens with puddles of water, and trickles of moisture dribble down the wall to the west and south. What once might have been barrels and crates stacked against the walls have decayed into nearly unidentifiable heaps of mold. There are no visible exits - no doors, trapdoors, or staircases - other than the locked door the corpse just smashed through.
The corpse turns, now fully aware of Boko, Thwack, and Gerrard. Boko trains her silvery beam upon it. DC17 CON Save: 18
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ignoring the light, the thing staggers forward out of the beam, rusty blade swinging wildly at Boko:
Rusted Longsword Attack #1: 18. Hit: 5 slashing damage, and Boko must succeed on a DC 12 CON save... Rusted Longsword Attack #2: 10. Hit: 11 slashing damage, and Boko must succeed on a DC 12 CON save...
Thwack and Gerrard, next to Boko, may attack next. Qivys, on the far end of the Scullery examining the (untouched) southern barricade, may also act.
(Mobius writes: The baddie still takes half of 10 radiant damage if that makes a difference) (Oopsie! A little retcon here...)
...But before the thing is able to get in that second swing, the Drowned Blade goes down in a plume of acrid smoke. It appears to be reduced to an ashen state, and is no longer animate.
((Assuming the doors on the second floor are all closed and intact)) Peri hustles around the balcony and peeks around the corner at the hallway to the east.
Boko moves the moonbeam around the circular room as the spell finishes (assume there's like 3 rounds left? If more, she'll bring it back down the hall and to the front door but assuming not).
"We should ensure there are no more walking dead people in the fort. And I would like to make sure they are not outside. I could conjure some animal scouts to go look around outside the front door. I would very much like Rasp's body to not end up in a big net, destined for... wherever. Does anyone else sense other threats? We probably should not touch these corpses,"Boko says. Does she see blue spots on the re-dead bodies?
Qivys shrugs his shoulders. "I'll give it a shot." he replies to Boko. With that Qivys will move near to the nearest opening to the outside, a window or the like , and boost himself up so he can see out. He takes a deep breath as he grasps his holy symbol and use his Divine Sense to see if there are more undead nearby.
Peri finds the window at the top of the stairs closed (if unbarricaded) and how they left it upon entering across the thatched roof. Looking around the corner to the east, he looks through a door-sized hole smashed through the wall and sees a rickety-looking makeshift wooden balcony leading across the eaves of the Dining Hall (8) to a similar door-sized hole leading into a dark chamber (perhaps a guard tower?)

Qivys gingerly hops over the stack of corpses in the doorway to join Gerrard and Thwack.
The storm gusts through the smashed barricades in the Main Entry (#4), where the invaders clearly gained entry.
Banging and splintering noises continue to emanate from the end of the western hallway, just out of view, beyond Boko's moonbeam.
Combat is paused. Everyone may act.
Peri:
Peri dashes to the outer gates. He peeks his head out to check for any additional corpses approaching the keep.
Boko moves the moonbeam down the hallway toward the noise. She moves through the opening and follows it.

"We should check the other entrances for more surprises as well," Boko says, glancing at the other doors into this large room.
Qivys will nod and check the other doors just in case.
Gerrard:
Weapons at the ready, Gerrard walks beside Thwack and follows the moonbeam towards the sound.

(Wait were the doors in front of the barricade in the front entry open like that? Would Peri notice they are the same or different?)
Boko sends the moonbeam west to hit the corpse.
She is otherwise keeping her head on a swivel to find any sign of other baddies. Anything seem different? Sign of another group?
