"So you believe you have what it takes to eventually challenge me?" A male, and amused-sounding, voice says in your head as you step into the circle of magical stones. "We will see I guess..."
There is a sensation of passing time, though it is a vague awareness to you. In truth it seems like only an instant from when you stepped into the circle to when you are standing inside a vast chamber. Monolithic walls stretch off to either side of you, the black metallic wall expanding high overhead to a black ceiling 500 feet above you. The ground beneath your feet is packed earth.
From your vantage you can see that one of the walls has an opening that appears to lead on into another section of the complex, though it appears to be more of the same sort of area you found yourself in. You see shorter walls ahead of you, and a tower that is topped with a dome of some sort.
"Welcome to my arena." The male voice says, echoing throughout the vast area. "Feel free to wander around. "Do not attempt to fight each other, or do anything foolish... This is just a chance for you to look over the terrain you will be fighting in."
You are given quite some time to wander the arena. It takes only moments to realize you are not alone, many figures moving around the place as well. Most appear to be warriors of one kind or another. A tall Goliath stands out, as well as a couple dragonborn. A halfling scampers around with out any armor or weapons, while a gnome spellcaster appears to be checking out the tall towers with interest. a githyanki warrior is more intent on looking over the rest of you, while a human with many scars seems intent on walking every inch of the arena grounds. Several more humans are equipped with a variety of weapons. An elf walks around with a longbow over her shoulder, while two dwarfs appear to be both warriors and mages, going by the fact they both wear armor yet both have items of spell-casting on their persons.
When enough time has passed...
"Return to the nearest adamantine wall and place your hand upon it." The voice says throughout the arena again. Once you have done so you are instantly teleported out of the arena, and find yourself standing in a vast chamber. The walls of this chamber are all transparent, giving views out over the arena, as if from the center, but above it all, about 50 feet up from the arena floor.
A single figure awaits you here. He is an imposing man, wearing full plate armor and with a magical blade at his side. he has short blond hair, gray eyes, and is sitting on a throne. The voice, when he speaks, is the same as you have heard up till now.
"I do not see any reason to wait, so you will shortly be returned to the arena, where you will be able to prove your right to be here." He says with a supremely confident look over you. "I very much doubt any of you lot will survive this first challenge, but will enjoy the entertainment of watching you die." He nods to the walls of his viewing chamber. "Right now the arena is being filled with beasts of all sorts. These creatures have been magicked to not attack each other, but to do so with you lot with extreme prejudice." He turns back to you. "This will be a challenge that will be hard for all of you to survive. I do not really care if any of you do so, but will tell you that there will be nothing to gain right now from fighting each other." He grins at you then. "That will come soon enough, but I do not enjoy wasting my time, so have decided this first challenge will simply be a way to see if you have what it takes to even be here."
If you look out over the arena you would see bears, big cats, an elephant, a giant boar, and other assorted beasts are now wandering through the arena. large flying shapes can be seen as well, giant eagles.
"You will be split up into 4 groups of four and will be set up in different quadrants of the arena." The man says after giving you a moment to look out over the arena through the walls. "You may travel between quadrants, and so may the beasts." He shrugs. "My advice is to work together and deal with the beasts. Only when all of you, or all of them, are dead will the challenge be complete."

Galin Firegard is a fearsome image. small scars crisscross his face and arms, and one large scar comes down from his forehead, across his left eye, and down to his chin. His reptilian features only give to this image. He is wearing a thick white coat complete with a hood, and thick armor plate can be seen beneath it.. A magical figurine hangs from his neck, while a large crossbow rests on his back. In his hands he holds a shield and spear, while a great-sword hands by his side. He ignores the others, and spends most of his time memorizing the arena.

Cindrus is a red dragonborn with long horns, wearing regal-looking armor and an ornate sword. Carrying himself with an air of authority and pride, he spends intermittent time talking to the others and exploring the arena. His longsword hangs from his belt, his shield on his back, and a bow at his side. All his gear is well-polished. He wears a red cape and his large shield bears the symbol of a dragon draped in shadow.
Udo Pyregrove is a tall, slightly built human man with blonde hair, blue eyes and a deep tan. He wears half-plate armor and pair of quivers on his back, he has a rapier at his waist, though the longbow in his hands has clearly seen more use. He also has a pouch on his belt along with a several small bags and a backpack. He glances at the arena from time to time, but spends most of his time watching his fellow competitors, sizing them up.
Yuno is looking around nervously both at the others present and also at the arena below. She has brown hair that's kept in a braid. She is 5ft 8 inches tall and her build is a bit on the scrawny side. She has fair skin and dark blue eyes that appear purple under the right lighting. She is wearing a long brown dress and a white apron. The color of her clothes seem to have faded with long term use. She looks very much like the average town girl her age and not like an adventurer or warrior. The only thing that seems to clash with her commoner attire is the metal of the armor that's been strapped over her dress and the two swords that are strapped to her belt. The buckle of her belt has a hill motif.
Pike is a somewhat comical looking fellow, giving off the image of a town guard wearing armor too big for his body. He is a human man in his late 20s, standing at 6 feet tall and incredibly skinny and long of limb. He has thin arms and legs, and a prominent Adam’s apple. He has a slight overbite with two front teeth appearing over his upper lip, even when his mouth is closed and small squinty eyes, giving his face a somewhat rat like appearance. He has freckles and a large head of curly red hair. A patchy beard is in evidence on his chin. For those who notice, he has surprisingly keen green eyes that shrewdly take in everything around him.
He wears Winged Boots, which look somewhat ridiculous but do seem authentically magical, a massive belt across his midsection that takes up most of his lower torso, and also gleams of magic, and a magic halberd. Less ostentatious is his mundane half plate armor, his longbow and quiver.
“So we’be been brought here by some arcanists to fight and die for their amusement. Just my luck,” he says ruefully.
Another red dragon board stands. Covered in heavy armor, he however doesn’t hold a shield. Instead in each hand he holds a long sword and battle axe. His nostrils flare as he exhales. His frame is stalky and though he looks rather rugged, he doesn’t show many scars.
“There’s prolly prec’dent fer this out there, but I would consult a more reputable sage than mahself on it,” Pike adds, his accent beginning to bleed into his speech. “Bad bit o’luck fer us this is, though.”
The rat king is an ominous figure. a slender shape hulled in a dark cloak shrouded by a swarm of flies. form time to time a rat can be seen rushing from under his cloak. He carries a staff and shield with him and below the cloak you manage to get a glimpse of armour.
"More than just for my ammusement." The man ways with a chuckle. "You will be apply rewarded for every challenge you face, with money, gems, magic items,a nd lore." He nods to the group as a whole then. "Let us see what you are made of..." Instantly you each find yourself back inside the arena once more. Now though there are calls of animals that can be heard echoing off the mttalic walls. Glancing up you see a giant eagle perched on some sort of black-metal ledge 50 feet up the outer wall. A ledge that had not breen there when you had been in here earlier.
Karnys Ruby-Eye, you are up. You find yourself in the Southeastern section of the arena. About 50 feet straight north of you is Wilm, and you see the giant eagle of your section is past him and up 50 feet. The nearest opening into the quarter of the arena you are in is past Wilm as well, while the Southeastern corner is just a bit to your south.
Map is here for everyone to see where they are positioned....
You all currently only see the giant eagles, though Yuno and Kellin, who are in the Northeastern area can see the elephant as it is taller than the 10-foot wall. The animals are making noises though, so you can definitely hear them.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(Forgot to mention that I would have a familiar before this from a previous ritual, if that's ok.)
Karnys hrumphs to himself, settling his armor on his shoulders, and then begins to trot forward. If he can get within 120ft. of GE3, he'll cast fire bolt on it with his familiar assisting. If not, he'll move forward as much as possible and cast mirror image on himself.

Karnys Ruby-Eye settles his gear, thens trides north, heading towards Wilm. As he does so three copies of him suddenly appear, swirling around him to the extent it is hard to tell which is the real person and which is not.
The giant eagle overhead (GE3) suddenly cries out, then stoops off of its perch, diving down towards Wilm and Karnys Ruby-Eye. It does not reach them this round though.
Rat King you are up next. Currently you see Bennin Silverstorm about 50 feet to your East. You can see the giant eagle of your area well over 250 feet away, on the barrior wall between your quarter and the one to the North.
The Rat King slinks along the southern wall towards the form of Bennin Silverstorm. as he moves the cloaked figure casts a spell, causing the air nearby to shimmer then gather into the form of a giant rat Then he casts another spell, his quarterstaff shimmering as it is imbued with magic.

Bennin gives the cloaked figure of The Rat King a quieting gesture, but nods his agreement.
Bennin's warning was too late though it seems. A loud roar comes from the other side of the wall jus tnorth of him and The Rat King. Then three lions leap the ten-foot wall and slam into the southern barrier wall as they turn towards Bennin and The Rat King. They cannot attack this round though. Cindrus and Bree hillsview can hear the lion's roar and would hear growls and such from around the corner to your south. You would have also heard speaking, but not be able to catch the actual words.
Wilm, Karnys Ruby-Eye, Galin Firegard, and Sylvara Harkend all hear the sound of hyenas, that seem to be responding to the Giant Eagle's cry and dive towards Wilm.
Galin Firegard you are up. You saw the giant eagle dive down towards something, after calling out loudly. You also heard hyenas answering that call with yips and cries of their own. Sylvara Harkend is to your West about 50 feet and the Southeast corner of the areana is around 20 feet to your East.
Sylvara Harkend is a tall and surprisingly muscular woman. Her black hair is half-shaved and has blonde tips. She also has blue paint on her face, similar to a tattoo. She looks to be in her late 20s. Sylvara is wearing heavy armor. She is holding a shield in one hand and a shiny longsword in the other.
