"I'll stay behind. Figure no-one will suspect a cat or such lounging around the place." Verne reports to Keller for any other instructions. He's not the most tactical, but has proven he can follow the orders of others who are.
(The intent is to take a position relevant to the animal he Wildshapes into once word has come that the thugs are approaching.)

"I'll lead those heading to town, then to the caverns." Ethan says. He gets up and glances around. "Those not staying go get your things, we should be leaving shortly." He nods to Keller as the mental connection is set up between them. he continues to speak out loud for the other's sake though. "We'll be back as soon as we can. I'd say do not attack until we arrive, even if that means we do this inside the villa instead of outside of it."

"Alright commander, lets go I am of course with you as well, as I am sure they have seen me riding through the town on Black."
"Keller, I'll tell red to go to you and jump on your shoulder to 'tell' you the number of thugs that are arriving."
Red is already in one of the trees near the South-west, when we go past him he'll see me and sit on my shoulder; I'll tell him to stay in the tree and fly to Keller when the Thugs arrive and jump on his shoulder to 'tell' Keller the amount of Thugs that he has seen.

"Alright! I'll go with our commander. Hammer squad, we're splitting up! Scallywag and Stables stay, the rest are with me!" It seems that, whatever it is Ayen was preoccupied with, is no longer relevant. "Don't go letting your powers go loose uncontrolably! Anyone from my squad who can't control themselves and ends up damaging Quickfingers' property will be on cleaning duty for as many days as I have fingers on my left hand!" (He still has 5.) Ayen then leans closer to Keller. He whispers to him in a way only Keller can hear him, even if the others try really hard to listen. There was no great reason to be secretive, but he didn't want to reveal his secrets to all immediately. "If I see the enemy, I'll blow my horn and let you know. Don't worry, nobody other than you will hear it. I might not be in range, however, so don't count on it too much."
Meanwhile, Ayen sneaks looks at Quickfingers, trying to assess his real intentions. He won't question his commander's decisions, but it did seem like an odd task. Such a large force for a bunch of goons, and a very unstable one at that. As Quickfingers said himself, there's no telling they won't do more damage than the goons would. Why not ask for better help? Does Quickfingers know something or has a secret intention? Suspicion kept Ayen alive for so many years, he won't stop using it now. Insight: 16
He doesn't seem to be playing you false, though it seems he is asking a favor but wrapping it up as an opportunity. However, he did host you here for the last many days, at his/the Foundry's expense. Might just be as simple as it's a problem he wants solved, and figures you'd all be agreeable and it's easeier/cheaper to keep it 'in house' as opposed to hiring on muscle of his own to deal with it. Or maybe a part of him just misses a chance for action, having been sidelined here, and he's manufactured a bit of drama to be able to live vicariously through you all.
No feel of anything duplicitous or against the interests of the Forge or Foundry.
Buildings, if numbered clockwise from 12 o'clock:
1. Barrel and Bottle House: contains ramp entrance to the caverns to the north. Where wine is packaged into barrels and bottles for long term storage.
2. Villa: main residence, also contains dining hall, study, kitchen.
3. Tool Shed: contains tools, supplies for tending the vines.
4. Crush House: Where grapes are crushed, large fermentation vats, etc.
To the Northeast there are other outbuildings where most of the staff resides, other gardens, pasture, etc.
"Well, guess I'm staying then." Bryn fills up another plate of food, pours another cup of coffee, and takes it inside to stay out of view. He collects his gear and armors up, then finds a spot inside where he isn't in direct sight from outside, but can still peer through a doorway or window. If there is a second floor he'll watch from up there. While eating breakfast.
((Assuming Keller has included him in the telepathic zoom meeting))
Verne grabs his gear and heads to the crush house. Waiting for word from Keller he prepares for the transformation he is about to make. "I am one with my surroundings. I am like a leaf on the wind." He repeats the chant to himself over and over. He always hated this bit.
Keller nods to Red to acknowledge the scouting plan, and he reminds Salkur to have Red hide away from Keller's hiding spot once they've conveyed the number of people en route, so as not to give him away.
He replies to Ayen with a nod and a glance at the horn.
As the larger group prepares to leave, he says, "don't come back too slowly or you'll risk missing the fun."
Then he goes outside and scopes out the distances between buildings, looking in the cart outside to see if there's a good chance of a great hiding spot for someone with a crossbow. If it's a low cart, probably not likely, but maybe if it's a high cart. He also looks on rooftops on the other side of the way Vrin would approach. Then he looks in the vinyards for areas where someone could hide easily.
Rusty unfolds his arms, and clanks over to the party that’s leaving. Even in a party of unusual individuals he stands out, but he seems somehow to be trying to blend in.

Ayen stands up, nodding back to Keller, then turning to their commander. "I'll gather my gear and come back." He then goes to don his armour and shield, gather everything else into his backpack and comes back ready to travel.

BB grabs his pack and stands up to follow Ethan. Yawning and scratching his neck he is smug to have been counted among the normal folks.
