Ssej will growl quietly at any who approach him as he starts to search the dead goblins for anything of value and more importantly any information on where they came from.
Perception: 18
Investigation: 9
Once done, he will join the others who joined in with killing the goblins, another nod of thanks to Corallon for the healing.
Nerra is flushing pink at the applause, and the hand shaking. She shrugs as she brushs blond hair behind an ear. "It was what anyone else would have done..." She says multiple times, even though very few others actually did anything to aid in the brief combat.
Berdach approaches and bows toward Mr. Foxglove, saying "Berdach Varga, tumbler and tightrope walker at your service."
The half-orc has never had to find work on his own before. The advance team employed by the troupes he traveled with already took care of that. He is not sure how to go about finding gainful employment, but, figures the right connection might help him. As far as Berdach is concerned, Mr. Foxglove appears to be wealthy. And, even if the man isn't willing to hire him, perhaps has is on good terms with Cyrdak Drokkus.
Corallon stoops slightly and looks at the ground for a long while once the cheering starts. After a bit, though, he looks up with a more resolute expression on his face and meets the gaze of Foxglove. "I was only following the call of the goddess,"he says. "The Great Dreamer led me here. It seems it was merely part of my destiny to be here at this moment, to help. Well met."
He looks to the others who fought the goblins and smiles gently."Perhaps destiny brought us all together and Desna was working through us all."
He takes a moment to look over the group and others involved to see if anyone is seriously injured.
Rudi looks to Corallon with a quizzical eye. “I’m not sure I’d call it destiny to be in the right place at the right time, it makes for too many questions about destiny being responsible for horrible stuff, but I find it to be an admirable way of lookin’ at the world. I’m Rudi, by the way.”
Ssej, you manage to find 20 gp worth of assorted coinage on the various goblins, as well as a masterwork (+1 to attack rolls, but not to damage) horsecutter (stats of scimitar) on the goblin that was riding the dog. Also found on the corpse of the rider is a folded note. Unfurling it, you see a crude representation of Sandpoint's Town Square, with Xs and arrows drawn erratically. It looks like someone tried to plan something, but it is so chaotic that you don't glean much about what their actual plan was.
"You should all come to the Rusty Dragon Inn, where I am staying during my trip to this quaint little down," Foxglove continues, still keeping his focus on Nerra. "There, I can reward you properly for a job well done."
"Rusty Dragon?" Nerra says, shrugging as she works to get her embarrassment under control. "I think that a good idea..." She follows the well-dressed man in that direction.
Ssej follows the group to the tavern and along the way he tosses the scimitar to Berdach, "You might have more of a use for this than I." He waits fore everyone else to enter the tavern and then will take one last look around for any other threats and then will go inside and make sure to sit or stand so he can see the entrance.
The party finds themselves at the Rusty Dragon, a large structure boasting a namesake rusty iron dragon on its roof. Inside, you are greeted by the excited chatter of tavern-goers, talking about the evening's events. Suddenly, a man stands up and points to you. "That's them!" he cries out, followed by a loud cheer from the crowd.
You see an attractive Tian woman with white-streaked black hair look over towards you. "Well, I guess you're the heroes of the day." She puts her hands on her hips and gives you a wide grin. "I'm Ameiko, the innkeeper. For what you've done today--saving the town and boosting my business--I say you've earned some free room and board. I'd happily host you here for the week, free of charge."
Foxglove, who disappeared up into his room, appears once again with a purse of coins. Everybody gets 20 gp. "It isn't much, not nearly as much as you deserve, but please take it, as my thanks. I also intend on going hunting tomorrow, and would love to continue to have your company. If you are willing to join me, that is."
Everyone also make a History check for me, upon seeing Ameiko.
Berdach follows the group to the Rusty Dragon, accepting the scimitar from Ssej. After taking the weapon, Berdach looks at it curiously, unsure of how exactly to wield it.
In the tavern, hearing the applause, the half-orc will bow, and room permitting, will do a flip before topping his cap to the crowd acrobatics11
When Ameiko makes her offer of free room and board, Berdach turns toward her and doffs his cap, saying "It will be our pleasure to stay in such a fine establishment."
Upon hearing Foxglove's invite, the rogue answers "I'd be happy to accompany you, but, I don't have much experience in hunting. I'm not sure what help I'd be."
ooc Rogue's can't use scimitars. I'm not sure if there is anyone in our party who is capable of wielding a scimitar, but, if I'm wrong on that, feel free to ask for the scimitar.
[OOC: yea I was pretty sure you could not use it, and I am also sure no one else can use it as well. Figured your toon would be the best bet, or we just sell it. :) And once we are alone I will split the gold I found off the goblins as well, and share the note.]
"Hunting sounds good." Nerra says to their benefactor as she accepts the pouch of coins. Glancing to the inn keep she frowns, trying to think of what she knows, hasn't she heard of this woman before...
Ssej and Rudi, you recognize this woman as Ameiko Kaijitsu, the daughter of Lonjiku Kaijitsu, local noble and owner of the Sandpoint Glassworks. Rudi, you also know that her mother, Atsuii, died five years ago.
Berdach, the crowd cheers at your short little performance. It isn't your best work, but it manages to put a smile on people's faces.
Foxglove turns to Rudi and answers, "The boar of the Tickwood, of course! I hear they're big beasts, and I wanted to see them for myself!"
Corallon, you feel a tug at your vestments, and you turn to see a young woman with bright red hair, standing several feet shorter than you. "Excuse me, but you're one of the heroes, right? I was wondering, could you help me with something? No need to bother the others, it's just a little thing. See, there are these giant rats in the basement of my pa's shop, and I need someone to take care of them..."
Meanwhile, the tavern-goers are arguing over who gets to buy the first round for the new heroes.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Corallon feels a bit overwhelmed by all the attention the group is garnering, but decides there's not much purpose in questioning the good-natured happiness of the locals.
To the innkeeper's offer, he nods "That is most kind and generous of you,"he says.
History 4
To Mr. Foxglove's reward money, he says "Thank you, sir. I consider it a donation to the faith, and I'll join you on the hunt with the others."
A moment or two later, he is surprised to be approached by the young red-haired woman. He listens intently to her. He is eager to help those in need, but he knows too that sometimes people in a big town like Sandpoint try to trick newcomers. "I am sorry to hear about these rats,"he replies. "What sort of shop does your pa have?"
He listens to her words, trying to determine if she is honest.
Ssej smiles a wicked teeth barring smile, saliva dribbling down his snout at the mention of boar hunting as boar tastes really good. Then he shakes his head to clear it a bit and orders a rare haunch of leg from whatever animal the tavern might have.
He is more than happy to go on the hunting trip and lightens his mood a little as he chomps on the hing leg of some animal, not growling at people anymore who approach him, much.
