Nerra settles at a table, unable to figure out where she knows the inn keeper from. She puts it aside, history was not her thing anyway. Accepting a mug of ale, she takes a sip as she lets the festive mood of the tavern wash over her.
Corallon, you know as much as Ssej does about Ameiko. And as for this young woman, as far as you can tell she's being honest with you. "He runs the general store in town. Come, this way."
((If you follow her, we'll continue this little side-quest in your whispers channel on Discord.))
"Forget about paying for their ale," Ameiko says. "First round's on the house!" There's another cheer from the crowd. You spend the evening enjoying free food and ale, and being asked questions about yourself, and asked to tell the tale of how you battled the goblins and put a stop to their raid. Ssej, people seem apprehensive about you at first, but after a few drinks the people approach you like you were an old friend.
Everybody make an Investigation roll to see what you learn about this town over the course of the evening.
And unless there's any roleplay you wanted to take care of, let's fast forward to tomorrow morning.
Rudi is happy to drink up the free booze and eat the free food, without being too obnoxious. He’ll tell stories about his home, a village destroyed by giants, and the dragonborn monastery that took in the survivors. He’ll discuss the secrets he uncovered that would give an edge in bringing down larger foes, helping the magic he controls to burn along the greater surface of the monsters.
“Ameiko, you are kind and beautiful, and I hope what I’ve uncovered will help keep you and everyone that much safer. And I hope one day I’ll be strong enough to bring down the giants that... that...” he starts to break a little and just stares into his cup before continuing to elaborate on the nature of his work to any with a mind to listen.
Ssej, Rudi, and Nerra would all hear about what the townsfolk call the "late unpleasantness." Five years ago, the young town of Sandpoint (it has only been around for 42 years) was shaken by a serial killer called "Chopper." He claimed over 20 victims, one of which being the well-liked Sheriff Avertin. Around the same time, a fire claimed the original Sandpoint Chapel, as well as the lives of the town's priest, Ezakien Tobyn, and his adopted daughter Nualia.
Nerra, you would learn that while Ezakien's remains were placed in a burial vault, Nualia's remains were never found.
Ssej, the young woman looks you up and down. "Thank you," she says, "but I think we can manage."
Rudi, Ameiko puts a hand on your shoulder. "I'm sorry that happened to you," she says. "Tonight, we drink to the memory of those we lost."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Berdach will have a couple beers and food, and talk with the locals. He will remain somewhat vague about his past, other than mentioning that he used to be part of a traveling troupe, where he performed feats of daring, including tight rope walking. The half-orc will perform a few card tricks and other simple magic tricks for the crowd. When Ameiko is present, the young rogue will clumsily attempt to flirt with her.
As Berdach flirts with Ameiko, a smile flashes across the Tian woman's face. "What do you say, everybody? I think this hero's earned a reward, don't you?" A cheer from the crowd, and Ameiko leans in to give the half-orc a quick kiss on the lips.
You continue to eat, drink, and celebrate well into the night, and eventually Corallon comes back to rejoin you. After you've had your fill (some sooner than others), you all turn in to your rooms for the night ((you get a long rest)), and are awakened just before sunrise by Aldern Foxglove, who has gone through the trouble of purchasing each of you a mount from the Goblin Squash Stables. He also outfits each of you with a light crossbow, if you do not already have your own. Also joining you are three menservants of Foxglove. You ride out east of Sandpoint, towards the Tickwood.
"I will soon be returning home to Magnimar," Foxglove says as you ride. "I insist you come visit me sometime, and I will host a feast in your honor."
It doesn't take much to notice that Foxglove is primarily speaking to Nerra as he rides alongside her.
As you near the Tickwood and get ready for the hunt, go ahead and roll either Perception or Survival.
Nerra is a bit flustered, and appreciative, of the man's attention. She flushes a bit when they are close together, and he stares at her with that look of his. It is hard to concentrate on the actual hunt they are preparing, though she has on her leathers and other needful things. The new crossbow is at her hip, though she doesn't think she will use it overly much.
Corallon is glad to be getting out of the town for a bit and seems not quite himself, a little ill at ease, as they head out. After a short while riding along, he begins to smile and looks happier, enjoying the sights all around. He had waved off the crossbow, already having one of his own. His kind eyes scan the countryside looking at the trees and grass, the birds and insects, for anything of interest.
Berdach will accept the crossbow, although he is not entirely comfortable with that weapon. On the ride out, he will sit on the horse listening to the conversations going on around him and paying attention to the landscape that they pass through. One thing that Zantorini had emphasized to his troop was, know where you are, and where you need to go. If they needed to flee a town quickly, all the performers needed to know how to make their way through cities, towns and wilderness to the appointed meeting point.
If something should go wrong on the hunt, the half-orc wanted to be able to make his way back to the town.

Berdach and Corallon, you are the first to notice a wild boar roaming the Tickwood. It is a massive creature, larger than any you have ever seen before. It does not seem to take notice of the party straight away, giving you an opportunity to shoot it with advantage. After that, we will be in initiative order, so go ahead and roll for initiative, everybody!

Corallon nods to the young woman. "Very well. Let's see if I can help your father," he says.
He looks to the others, including Foxglove. "I shall return soon."
Ssej hears Corallon, then looks around the tavern and the number of people crowding in, "Want company?"

Berdach has the same information as Ssej and Rudi. And anyone attempting to flirt with Ameiko, go ahead and make me a general Charisma check.
