Nesyur Uldrurz was born into a large, warlike orc tribe. he was taught of Ilneval, and to fear Ilneval. he was trained in the ways of combat from a young age, and was told to use it to support the tribe, and follow Ilneval. however, Nesyur always preferred hunting to war. he loved to stalk animals thought the forest, staying unseen, before rushing for the kill, short swords making quick work. this earned him the nickname "wolf", which is what he goes by to this day.
when wolf was still young, giants attacked his tribe, utterly killing most of them. he was one of the few survivors, and escaped north, into a tundra where they hoped the giants could not follow them.
survival was a constant struggle against the elements: to keep warm, find food, get shelter, and everything else. wolf became the hunter for the small-close knit group of surviving orcs, hunting and finding food wherever possible.
then, the terrible happened. the giants found us. they attacked, destroying and killing. wolf barely escaped, and made his way to human civilization, with one goal: to kill giants, to get revenge.
Oppleby Farwanderer Fabblestabble was never an ordinary forest gnome, if there ever was such a thing. The pranks of his brethren always lost on him as there was no logic in them. Socially awkward, Oppleby always cared more for facts than people and only took an academic interest in the small animals of the forest that flocked around him. Originally from The Great Dale, Oppleby wandered Faerûn and eventually ended up in Candlekeep, the towered library-fortress by the Sea of Swords. For years he was lost in it´s Great library reading about anything from baking recipies to ancient mysteries. During this time he took up artificing under the tutorship of Professor Maekkelferce, a Lantanna rock gnome expatriate. Oppleby, however, turned out to be a tad bit too creative with his inventions and after obliterating the Professors workshop for the third time he was sent really far away to Icewind dale on an "important mission" to catalogue everything there was to know about the natural phenomena that plagued the dale. Oppleby saw this as an opportunity to wander and to field test his inventions and maybe even to go on some adventuring while doing so. He was particularly proud of his new Blazooka which, although somewhat unreliable, functioned properly most of the time. Ten towns however was in for a brand new disaster.
:Grim was abandoned as an infant, left to perish in the forest. He was found by a high priestess of Liira named Natali. She brought him back to the the temple of Lliira at Greycastle, an abandoned fortress renovated by the followers of Lliira. Even as an infant he seemed dour and sullen, earning the name "Grim". Despite this, Grim believes deeply in the teachings of Lliira, even knowing that his ancestry puts him at disadvantages here. Still he takes time to find joy in his life, from simple things like enjoying sunsets and wildflowers, to the more elaborate communal rites of Lliira. He has always seen himself as the protector joy and those who simply want to enjoy life from those who would oppress or harm them so early on he decided to become a Paladin in the service of Lliira. When the then Reverend Mother Natali passed away, he was given a letter from her telling him it was time for him to go out into the world and find ways to bring Joy to himself and others. He was also given a small Reliquary with some of her ashes to remind him that a part of her will always be with him.
Everyone believes in the gods, because here the gods are real and can appear in person. Generally though if someone believes that they see a god that nobody else can see, this is considered to be a form of madness. Grim believes the goddess Lliira appears to him even when nobody else can see Her. Reverend Mother Natali often suggested that Grim keep this to himself. He has been in Ten-Towns for the past two tendays. He is here because Lliira suggested it to him. He will help those he can to the best of his abilities.
Poetry was raised by a Tiefling bard. He was given his name because his adopted mother had aspirations for him to follow in her footsteps, with a view to teach him poems and songs to recite from heart. Despite the bard’s intentions, Poetry (or Poe) has no vocalisation whatsoever - even as mimicry.
Poetry’s talents manifested in archery instead. He is a master marksman, and has already aided many bands of mercenaries, and adventurers, on quests all over the land, despite still only being 17 years of age.
He can usually be found skulking in the corner of a tavern, listening out for recruiters whom he presents with references from his past adventures. His most recent referee boasts that Poetry is, “the best marksmen I have ever seen. The kid could shoot the whiskers off a halfling, if that halfling was stationed on the moon!”
Poetry finds himself in Ten Towns having been recruited by/alongside the successful applicants...
Johannes is an aspiring alchemist who believes he knows enough to start putting his "learning" into practice. He hopes to stumble upon hidden knowledge and be the first to find it. His fellow scholar-alchemists have set out for warm, exotic locales. Thus, Johannes decides to set out for the coldest, godforsaken place he can think of that is reasonably close. Surely none of his scholar-fellows would turn up in Icewind Dale, right? And if his attempts at alchemy fail, the Ten Towns are isolated enough that word won't get out and tarnish his reputation. He believes there's something at the Spine of the World. Perhaps his translations of some texts were a bit wishful or broad, but he thinks (or wants to think) that he'll find something there.
Name: Isk Race: Lizardfolk Class: Druid (Circle of Stars at 2nd level) Ability scores: 12171215812 Point buy Background: Outlander Quick Backstory:
Isk as a youth lived with his head in the clouds, and his eyes pointed at the stars. This is how he got his name, which is 'Star' in Draconic. He felt there was more to life than mere survival, like his tribe seemed to think, and longed to leave and travel the world. But he was not stupid, and knew he was too weak and young for such, let alone not knowing where to go. But after reaching his adulthood, and thus taking care of two of those concerns, he started to be able to read the stars somewhat. He saw a little star join a circle of larger stars, and could somehow divine a path by which to do the same. He left his tribe behind without a second thought, and found his way to a circle of Centaur druids, hidden deep in a forest. They were impressed with his skill in finding them, and agreed to teach him. But now, near the end of his training, he sees new signs in the night sky... Of the dangers of the sunless north...
Vaur grew up with his clan in the mountains of known as the spine of the world, he and his clan moved from place to place, enjoying what bounties could be found from nature. From boyhood, he was one of the better scouts, with greater endurance than others for finding new areas to travel to, and it is for that reason that when the sun disappeared 2 years ago the clan decided (after many rigorous challenges) that the Thunderchaser would be the one to go to the ten towns and try to help find a way to bring balance back. He has been living among the people of the ten towns ever since. Doing odd jobs to make a living, and helping others by attempting to teach them the lessons of nature, all while keeping an ear out to try to overhear anything about the odd happenings and anyone attempting to do anything about it.
Oddly, at the same time that the sun stopped shining, a mysterious power has been welling from deep within Vauraziath, and he cannot sometimes control this power when he gets angry, or other emotions come strongly to him.

Far away in Waterdeep, Keth had once been in training to become a doctor. However, during his training, Keth became fascinated in not just healing, but other properties of the skills and magics he employed. He began to delve into the darker side of it, seeking to not only be good at helping people but to use the same skills to get rid of those who are a problem for society. One day while he was off duty he was.... practicing his other skills on a criminal he had caught when the city guard saw him. Knowing what they would do to him even though he was just trying to help society, Keth fled the city to the north.
