The stricken Stoat strives to stride forth, but Anspec’s unexpected thrust from behind deftly dispatches it. It falls to the ground, blood staining its white fur and the snow red.
The remaining free Stoat launches itself at Blackbur, trying to grapple him, but its claws scrabble ineffectively at the mouse’s chain.
Two of the entangled Stoats tear themselves free, while the third still struggles. There is no comprehension in the Stoats’ eyes, and Dixie’s words seem lost on them.
Aiming to keep his distance from the melee, Sirithal points at one of the free stoats attacking Blackbur, uttering a guttural word of power, which causes a ray of ice blue light to spring from his finger towards the stoat…
Hurdrak, likewise focuses on the one attack Blackbur. Those fangs looked vicious and it's size dwarfed the mouse. He focused again and let out another force slash.
Eldritch blast at one attacking Blackbur. Of it dies before his turn then next nearest stoat.
Dixie moves forward with the Light Hammer holding tightly in right hand, and the exposed blade of dagger glimmering in the left one. The Rabbit Hop action allowes her to jump 4 feet towards the third stoat who's free from the restraint. Briefly swinging back the hammer she tries to smash it on the opponent's head, then she attempts to slash at his throat after landing on the ground.
Mistral launches a guiding bolt (24 to hit, 14 damage) at one of the stoats that has just freed itself, bathing it in glittering luminescence, followed up by another celestial arrow (16 to hit, 9 damage assuming advantage from guiding bolt - if that target is dead then it's only a 7 to hit).
Blackbur runs up next to Dixie, slashing with his sword, and keeping his shield ready to protect her back (reaction for Protection fighting style if it comes up. Disadvantage on an attack roll against an ally within 5 feet)
Seeing the free stoats being hit, Whiskers will move around the party and attack the entangled stoat, first with his quarter staff: Attack: 23 Damage: 10
Followed by a kick to its head with his bonus action: Attack: 25 Damage: 8
OOC I think I get advantage since he is restrained, which is what I rolled. The damage on the kick is not right. I appear to have used 2d4 rather than 1d4 on the damage roll. The first damage was a 2 + 3 for his modifier would make five points of damage.
The party unleashes all its fury upon the would-be ambushers, taking the predators by surprise and slaying them mercilessly; for mercy would not have been theirs, had they themselves been caught unawares.
The one free Stoat still standing faces the ranger, and retaliates against the valiant rabbit. It strikes out with its claws, its long reach gouging into the flesh of Dixie’s haunch, tearing it open. It attempts to use the momentum of its attack to grapple its way on top of her, its bared teeth gnashing at her neck, but she shakes it off before it can lock its jaws upon her!
The other Stoat is still stymied by the brambles summoned forth by the druid, and flails haplessly at Whiskers, to little effect.

"Look, maybe we could maybe stop fighting and talk about this over dinner, but I don't think we like the same kind of food, so we're just going to stab you. Repeatedly, because I'm feeling cruel today," Anspec says before stepping towards the free stoat and stabbing again. Attack: 24 Damage: 12
The stabbed Stoat stumbles, then falls to the snow dead, leaving only the one still struggling with the conjured brambles. An unusual parting of the clouds casts the bright light of a full moon down through the trees to the bloody snow, where four Stoats litter the small battlefield.
The stoat's warm breath falls on her face when she moves really close to the enemy to invade the personal space, and she responds with an unwitting cringe to the foul smelling breath, "Blimey! This stoat smells like rotten flesh! The slashing from the claws causes burning sensation, but she attempts to use the full weight of her body to shove the creature to the ground.
Strength (Athletics): 14 (gamelog, rolled with disadvantage)

Hurdrak moved about slowly yet efficiently through the battle field. He was about to attack several various times now but the group had presented themselves very capably. This fight was much different than against the snow spiderlings.
With death falling apon their foes left and right, he turned his gaze upon the one still in the brambles. He got into stance and slashed sending another force blade at the enemies.
Eldritch blast Attack at advantage for being restrained: 23 Damage: 9
The blast from Hurdrak’s blade ends the battle, and the depression where the path passes the small outcrop would be known forever after as Stricken Stoat Hollow. Auril’s Aurora comes out to augment the light of the full moon, brighter than the twilit days. The stark contrast of the blood on the snow, and the bitter cold, detracts from what would otherwise be a beautiful scene.
But what has become of their Otter guide? He is nowhere to be seen, and nobody can seem to remember him lending his axe to the fight. He had spoken of a bounty on the Stoats, fifty gold per tail, but it seems he is not sticking around to collect his share.
Mistral, still sparkling with a glowing celestial aura, surveys the battlefield in an attempt to account for all their foes - and their allies. Five stricken stoats lie in the throes of death and all his comrades are still standing, apparently unhurt. But what of Loki? In the heat of battle, Mistral had lost sight of the otter.

Hurdrak moves forward as he sheaths his sword. He pulls out the knife he had collected from the spider cave (probably should have inspected its make or quality sooner) and goes out collecting the tails. He does keep at least a few eyes open for additional threats.
