Name: Vaden Thorne Race: Custom Lineage Class (no need to list intended subclass, will discuss in PM) (Wizard - Order of scribes) Any background you would like to share to help tie into others in the group.(Optional) Sage
Name: Rogi Race: Human (variant) Class: Monk Background: Hermit
Story: Rogi never felt that he belonged in society, with its focus on the surface and its lies, preferring to be alone as much as possible. He left his family and village as a young man and sought out the elves, who gave him permission to live in a small hut among their trees. The many years he'd lived there changed him, in more ways than one, but finally he reluctantly had to admit that this wasn't a place for him either, and he made his way to Icewind Dale, where people were few and had better things to do than intrude upon him.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Always a DM, never a player, here. Hoping to get into a game.
Ability scores: 10101516711
I plan on going a Gnome Warlock. Will post more once made.
Name: Minza Pingun
Race: Gnome
Class: Warlock
Backstory: Minza grew up in the mountains near Cackling Chasm, before the everlasting winter fell upon Icewind Dale, and have lived there even after. When Minza was of age, 75, he went through a hazing ritual that his village made everyone go through. Sending them out into the wild, alone, making sure they coild survive. However, Minza did not fare well. He came upon the brink of death on the 4th day.
Minza was just about to let himself die when he heard a voice, he followed this voice to a cave. The cave was empty but inside was a blade. As he approached the blade the voice got louder, and more enticing. The blade told him of untold power that the blade could offer, all he had to do was run his hand along the edge. Minza, thinking he didn't have a choice, did so. And as he did, his eyes went black and he blacked out. When he awoke he felt a power pulsing through his body. The weapon gone and a strange amulet around his neck he didn't remember having. The hunger he felt was gone and he was able to make it through the hazing.
After Minzas return, his family could tell that something was off. A year or two after having this power, someone in the town went missing and they blamed him. With the lack of evidence the worse they would do was banish him. Minza made his way to the Ten-Towns, where he kept his hood up and magic down so he didn't draw attention.
Minza now travels between the Ten-Towns trying to find redemption.
Briar is not originally from the Sword Coast, but Hartsvale far to the east. He fled from there after he fell in with a bad crowd. They got caught after a while and Briar would have been executed for his crimes. He escaped and made his way west, but kept getting into trouble. He's gone to Ten-Towns to escape the law and also find some redemption.

Ability scores: 111115181413
Name: Professor C.R. Wibblepingle
Race: Rock Gnome
Class: Artificer
Background:Sage
Picturing him having originally gone on sabbatical to the are to write and pursue research, got distracted by a while bunch of other ideas for studies and explorations, and before he knew it, five years have gone by, his funding has dried up, and he's been forcibly 'resigned' from his former position. Those who are familiar with him probably consider him at best a harmless old tinkerer, and at worst a hazard to himself and others with his experiments.
((If he and Vaden both make it in they could have an academic connection of some sort. At the very least, perhaps have read one another's papers if their fields overlap at all.))
Standard equipment plus 50g and add 1 set of warm weather clothes.
Damvir was trapped in a manor house party where one of the guests was a murderer, and was nearly killed himself. He’s never been the same, and fled to Ten Towns to try to forget the horrid events.
"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
Born to a circus family in the city of Waterdeep, Niki'traya has been entertaining folks since the time she could walk. Starting first as an assistant, Niki'traya would go on to learn the trapeze but would find her love in juggling and knife throwing. As the years went on Niki'traya began to seek solo shows and learned the art of song and dance as a way to expand her repituor. With her parents blessing and fair warning Niki'traya would eventually leave Waterdeep to try to make a name for herself, first spending some time in Neverwinter then traveling north to the harsh beauty that is the Icewind Dale only to be trapped unable to return home due to the spell of the Frostmaiden.
Name:Hadi Benotto Race: Elf Class: Wizard Background/Simple Backstory: Noble (from the link). His parents pushed him to study and study all his life, and though he excelled, he found the pure book work exceedingly boring, and managed to find distractions from friends and training in things outside the tomes. His parents thought he needed to focus and sent him to the north where an very distant uncle has a cabin, to live and study. This exile seemed almost a torture to Hadi. Cold and boring, away from everything he’d known, and all the comforts he’d become accustomed. Until he found a book hidden away describing something interesting to learn...
Backstory: Deanrud (Though you may call him Dean, most do) is a very curious soul, and when he found out he could do magic, he about burned his village down figuring out how it works. He left his tribe to the most remote area on the map, so he can't hurt anyone too easily, though there have been a couple of accidents.

Name: Korath
Race: Goliath
Class: Paladin
Personality: Korath is very friendly, always trying to help people, but if someone is "Naughty" as he says, he completely loses it and goes crazy. He is not very intelligent and is a bit oblivious
Background: Folk Hero
Backstory: Korath was once chosen by Helm to be a paladin, not beacause of his strength, or his intelligence, but because of his big heart. He wandered out thje world to find people and animals to help on his way. He gained great favor on the way with many people, but he just wanted to help people. He is in Ten-towns in search of people to help, and friends to get.
Note: I have nver played in a PbP, but i would really love to learn it.
Backstory: Born into the Waterdhavian nobility of the Argent family, Lilith Argent was an obvious misstep of her mother having an affair with a travelling elven bard that never again made any appearances in Waterdeep. Ostracized by her family she was left to her own devices and found a home at the Yawning portal and other taverns of the great city. There she learned to play the lute and showed a gift for telling a good tale, her only inheritance from her father it would seem. Eventually her family decided she was an embarrassment and sent her away north to Icewind dale where no one of importance would know of her existence. Resentful Lilith left Waterdeep and her self righteous family of Lathander worshippers, bringing a "keepsake" from her fathers office, a strange brooch inset with a blood red crystal that was supposed to be destroyed by the church of Lathander. She travelled north with a caravan, a long and arduous journey by her standards, but eventually reached Icewind dale and the town of Bryn Shander where she settled in at the Northlook. There she decided to stay, trying to create a new life for herself. Life at the Inn didn´t turn out as bad as she had feared as the Northlook always had an audience to be entertained by a sweet song or an epic tale. Still resentful over her banishment from Waterdeep the blood red crystal eventually attuned to her and a voice whispered in her dreams luring her into a pact to gain powers to one day show her family her true qualities. Lilith now has decided to recruit others to explore the dale for greater magics in order to reach her goals while keeping what is left of her soul.
‘Pride comes before the fall’, so they say. Growing up within the nobility of Waterdeep, Tristan found himself naturally gifted at displaying great levels of pride – in his family, his wealth, his position. So it is said, as it transpired; for Tristan’s pride did cause him to fall, to plummet truth be told.
He was still young when the first manifestations of his power did show itself; something which confused and scared him to his core. To date he remembered that fateful day vividly – the sights, smells, sounds, it felt so real.
The lesson had been so boring at the time, his mind had wandered as his teacher had waffled on –talking in depth about the types and properties of the kelp found along the Sword Coast, or something equally as dull. Tristan’s young mind had imagined, just for a moment, of the possibilities of what he may be up to should the old-boy just disappear. Well, disappear he did.
To say it was harrowing for the young Tristan to watch as shadows engulfed his teacher, tearing him from the world, would be an understatement. For the young lad did scream and shout, perplexed at the events that had come to pass. One might understand that this was not how a son of nobility acts – it was incredibly unbecoming, making such a fuss.
The teacher was eventually found many blocks away from where he had disappeared and unable to account for the entire incident. Tristan had felt such a fool for making a scene. That was until it happened again (to the Nursemaid) and again (to a random street urchin) and then again (to a young lady who had spurned Tristan). It did not take long for a mind as able as Tristan’s to spot the common component in all the disappearances – him.
Now, I think it goes without saying, that a young man when given such power at such a tender age might well… let it go to his head. As was the case with young Tris. It did not take long for Tristan to start exploiting his new found abilities on those he deemed of lesser station than himself. Unfortunately, it appeared that others (namely the City Guard) had also noticed his proclivities – a fact that he was unable to avoid.
Subsequently disgraced, Tristan was cast out by his family to ‘redeem’ himself. He now finds himself in Icewind Dale, in the harsh North, with not much more than the clothes on his back and the money in his pocket (albeit a reasonable sum). To ‘use his abilities to benefit someone other than himself’ - a truly novel idea in Tristan’s mind. In truth, Tristan is quite unsure as to how the powers he commands work, but he is determined to do all that he can to restore his image in his family’s mind.
Backstory: Kendrik was abandoned in the woods and was found by a tribe of Barbarians who raised him as their own, At his fifteenth winter with the Tor tribe he and several of his tribe mates was challenged to slay a beast as a rite of passage they found it a wolf as big as a horse grey with patches of brown fur they chassed it into the woods when they were jumped by 2 more wovles they managed to kill one but his friends were slain by the largest of the wolves panicked he fled from the woods when he anouncced he failed to slay the monster he was named Ill-Tor and exiled from the tribe he survived on his own

Dungeon Master: Killing your charcters since 1974
Timeless, Boundless, Ruler of The Spire of Creation
Backstory: Amla was born in Ten Towns. Her mother left to return to the warmer south, so her father was all she had. He was a soldier who helped protect the towns, and Amla wanted to be just like him when she grew up. Her father was pleased by her ambitions, and helped train her to use weapons. He even showed her some of the special skills he had picked up over the years during trips into the wilderness. Amla eventually became a soldier who protected the towns, and helped use her skills against orcs and other threats. But now Auril is blocking the sun, and Amla is unsure of what to do. She wants to fix things, but she does not know how.
