Casting an eye up towards Maudath "Such disbelief coming from one whose past forced him to flee to this desolate place, leaving his family behind. You are talking to me because that's the way things had to be."
Looking back to the rest of you "The boy is here, but he is of little consequence. Even the looming threat of Auril pales in comparison to what Xardorok will unleash on this place."
Meeting your eye professor you can see that she is telling you the truth as she believes it to be. "Kadroth doesn't know we are speaking, nor does it matter" she coughs a few more times, wiping her mouth on her sleeve "The speaker has merely been our gracious host. My master is always seeking to oppose the one who bound him in ice. He has gifted me with visions of the future that have helped us move and prosper ahead of those that seek us harm. Trust or not your fate is already foretold." her trembling hand reaches for the glass on the table beside her.
"Absolutly do you have any problem with that mr. mommy? Isn't this your usual Monday?" she does a long sigh "Truly these people, forgive them ma'am, Your master, is he that powerfull? It would appear to be good to f... free... h.. h... him..." Ryhunis appeared dizzie and sit allowing her to regain some composure for a bit for a moment the buble-like shapes raged across her arcanic lines similar to when she entered her so called rage mode now almost fully covering said lines giving them a light white glow. "A.... rrrrr.. I will laid a bit, don't mind me, talk with the small one, if the Pen is mightier then the sword he is the most mighty here, well second to me of course eh eh eh" she now was sitting with her back on the wall. Between the whispers one could heard faint letters as her body appeared to be slowly turned off "dout ko..ari tal.. sid wer wux es..up, ..ut les..a trekis, ..cioniv ..ntek ma.. drihli vur coi persvek wer sulta?jilg thric ... majak coi shio kult ui jaka"
"Our master is the Archdevil Levistus. He has shown me a great fortress hidden on the surface in the Spine of the World. Xardorok has a forge there fueled by the still beating heart of an ancient red dragon. A duergar with that kind of power must be put down."
Professor you def recall hearing that Asmodeus being angry with Levistus, the former ruler of Stygia one of the layers of the nine hells, imprisoned him in an ice block for thousands of years.

At the mention of Devils, Eve’s (and Invisible Ipkiss’s ears prick up. She keeps quiet and wanders nonchalantly about at the back of the group trying to recall whether she’s heard of any of these entities…
"Heed them or not, my time is come so the outcome matters little to me." she coughs forcefully having to breathe heavily afterwards. "Know that should you seek out Xardorok too soon you will surely die. You must test your mettle against the horrors that haunt the farthest reaches of Icewind Dale before you can hope to survive the perils of Xardorok’s fortress." she begins to cough again
As she finishes this last sentence the door to her chamber opens quickly and a red skinned tiefling with grey hair, a bit paunchy in the middle, rushes into the room looking between the old dwarf and you. He is dressed in a fine suit with with a long coat.
Before he can say a word the old dwarf lets out a muffled chuckle and exhales slowly before she stops moving.
Iris rushes over to her and immediately begins checking her. "She is gone"
The tiefling walks to the dwarfs side and puts a hand on her head, in an exaggerated motion, "She will be missed." Quickly turning back to you all with a wide smile. "Welcome my friends. I am Kadroth."
Without any warning the body of the dwarf woman begins to be covered in a several inches of ice crawling up her body till it is completely encased in ice.
Maudath watches the old woman pass away, and despite the fact he doesn't believe a word she said and thinks she was completely crazy, he still puts his hand over his heart and bows his head for a moment. Feeling that something should be said but not knowing anything about her and not wanting to speak badly of he dead he says what he can.
"I'm sure she was quite the entertainment at parties."
But his solemness is quickly overcome with curiosity when the ice appears over her body.
"Did you do that?" he asks Kadroth. "And are you all about this devil versus devil stuff too? We really just came to offer help to the town speaker, check on the boy Huarwar for his mother and find out if we were intentionally set up last night or not. Think we got the answer to the last one. The old lady seems to have quite the thing against duergars. But still leaves the first two."
Ryhunis for the first time in centuries felt cold "Finally" she thought "Can I please stay here?" she whispered "COME BACK!!!" Ryhunis screamed "Aaahh aah what, what happened?" after a quick look around, from Iris to Eve to the professor and finally at Maudath"For a moment i thought i died and was in heave, but you all beeing here it mean either I am still alive or in hell" She chuckles"At this point what's the difference?" while saying the last part she got up taking a step in front and then another to the back "why the long faces? Did someone die..." she noticed the old dwarf"aahh too soon? Or too late?"
Looking suddenly at Ryhunis in a bit of surprise he clears his throat .
"AH yes, bit of nasty business with the duergar, but that was ....out of our control. But you are here and you are welcome among us."
Looking back down to the frozen form of Hethyl "This is not the best place to talk, if you would please, lets go to my office and I will try to answer your questions."
Without waiting he turns and walks out of the room.

The Professor tries to get a read on Kadroth. The guard seemed hesitant, and the serving girl seemed terrified, but so far he's at least been putting on a veneer of a polite host.

"Ah, yes, an office sounds like a much better place for a chat."
When the woman dies, and freezes solid, Eve hears Maudath say a few words, and she bows her head. But at the same time, she says, “What’s said on one’s death bed is often someone’s truest words… Like she said, it matters not to her, but it mattered enough for her to desperately tell or warn us. Not for her benefit, but only for our own... I will heed these words well!…”. She nods to the frozen woman before turning to the newcomer.
As the party head towards the office, for more words, Eve leans back towards Maudath and answers, “Something is definitely ‘afoot’… but yes, ‘he’ is with me, and quite good at spotting things we might miss…”.
Professor, Kadroth has been polite and courteous. His smiling face never faltering. Best you can tell he seems sincere.
He leads you all back down to the main level then into a chamber off to the left of the main hall. This room is very well furnished with comfortable sitting arraignments and a warm fire burning in the hearth. Standing at the far side of the room is a smaller human male wearing a black robe. Kadroth leads you thru this room and into the next. The human give a small but exaggerated bow as Kadroth passes by.
Kadroth moves around a large desk at the back of this room, which is very obviously an office. Taking a seat he gestures to the few chairs around the room. "Please, please take a seat. I apologize for not having a chair to accommodate one of your...stature." he says looking at Ryhunis

He moves over to tend to Ryhunis.

"Do you really have to, Professor?" Maudath asks. "I prefer her this way."
He looks back over at the dwarf.
"So, are you going to tell us who your master is, or are we just going to do riddles all day?" Maudath says.
The Professor considers.
"She'll likely snap out of it on her own, but if those arrows in the windows start pointing our way again we'll want her up and functional."

"I'm my own leader, so the only plans I don't know are the ones I forgot!", The Professor retorts.

But as they walk ,he lags back a step or two and leans down to whisper to Eve.
