Yashin laughs at Ichika’s description of the duel “Sometimes it can be hard to tell the difference”
Before leaving that morning, he catches Aio at his horse “Well fought last night, it appears you back up your words with actions. You move fast and swing a fine blade.”
Yashin again drives the wagon in the middle of the party, passing time with Brock and congratulating him on his victory “Clever gambit, working to hold him fast in one place, he was hard to pin down. Your subtle casting ability is impressive, I am very rarely subtle in anything I do” He amuses himself by diverting the rain and preventing it from falling around the wagon and the nearby riders during the passing showers "No sense riding in the rain" he smiles at Brock.
He notices clouds start to roll in and hears Valor’s concerns. “If that is so, they move fast, much faster than we believed, and we should be wary.” He eyes the growing storm and rubs the amulet around his neck, whispering a quiet prayer to the Stormlord to speed them on their journey and to unleash the wrath of the storm on their enemies.
"Thank you Yashin. I may not normally be so pleased to be bested, in a way, by a dwarf, but I'm glad to see that he is a capable ally given the task ahead. I imagine I wouldn't want to run into that hammer of yours, either."
"Ahh thanks lad, he did a lot more than I care to admit, but that makes me glad to know that our group have people who can damage me. Means we may stand a chance against a dragon. Also, spell casters are an ass to deal with, so having them not able to counter what your doing is a great boon," he says looking out towards the rest of the group.
As it begins to rain the dwarf is pleasantly surprise it is not raining on him. "Ah knew there was a reason I like you. Let me know if you want to hear a tale or a song. I owe you that much for keeping me dry," he says with his big Dwarvish grin.
(Before setting off Brock will use 5 sorcery points to cast bastion of law and a 5th level aid to get 20 extra hit points on me, Aio, and Yashin).
Ichika's riding alongside the wagon. She probably gets on her flying broom when her horse gets tired, but she's not flying too high off the ground. High altitude is windy and she didn't want to miss out on the conversation.
"It was a fine fight. Too bad I didn't get a chance to join." She says to Aio, turning her head behind to look at Brock then turning back, before gives Aio a small wink, "you two make an excellent pair."
She hangs back and rides beside Yashin, under his covering for rain. She looks up at the raining sky above her, she smiles at Yashin. "Thank you." She didn't mind riding in the rain, but it is always to have the option not to.
She turns her head to Brock, since he offered a tale, she was not going to miss the chance, "So your father and Aio's knew each other?" She asks curiously, "how?"
Ssej welcomes the rain as it helps wash off the dust oif the road from his scales, not to mention it helps drown out the sounds of his party to anyone or anything that might be listening. While keeping an eye out he goes back over the duel he just witnessed making notes of the tactics that were used.
He had a mistrust of casters in general but Brock was definitely highly skilled and the dance of magic and blade that Aio put on was pretty impressive.
I wonder how Aio and Brock would have dealt with Ssej jumping down between the two of them from the treetops where he watched most of the fight from and started attacking the both of them. It was rather easy to sneak away from the others since they were too busy watching the duel.
So maybe the other lessor gods did choose wisely and this group might work well, we shall see after the first combat.
Hearing them talk about another tale being told Ssej will get closer to the wagon to listen in, "With the rain beating down on uss, a tale would be a nice disstraction Brock."
Looking a bit strange at Ichika's comment Brock says, "Your going to have to tale me what your drinking, cause I need to drink it as well. I don't know if is Dad knows mine. The one he was claiming to be related to was one of my Dad traveling companies, but she doesn't really like elven nobility from what I remember."
As a crowd gathers around him Brock gets ready and says, "Did you hear about the time..."
(Before setting off Brock will use 5 sorcery points to cast bastion of law and a 5th level aid to get 20 extra hit points on me, Aio, and Yashin).
(Thanks, one of the biggest weaknesses of Aio as a martial character is 10 levels of wizard leaves one with fewer hit points than one would like!)
"I'd be quite happy to spar one of these evenings Ichika" replies the elf. "It would be most beneficial to have a better sense of how each member of our party might react, attack, defense and ultimately cooperate when faced with a true adversary."
Although he rides out front much of the time, if the elf hears the human ask Brock out their fathers knowing each other Aio breaks out in roaring laughter. The elf's natural quiet, graceful demeanor seems to also carry upon it a layer of the louder, prouder more boisterous nature of a young, accomplished military man.
Brock takes a great story about how he saved a kingdom from a demonic possession of the royal family, about how he manage turn it into a rabbit before banishing it back to the abyss.
While Senna is still riding Argento she will hear Brocks tale and ride close enough to the wagon to keep listening. The cowl of her cloak place far over her head to provide some sort of shelter from the direct rain before coming into reach of Yashin's help to divert the rain.
A lovely tale Brock, perhaps i shall share one of of my own some time.
And thank you Yashin. She turns to the watch the water to their west. It looks like your god Talos works to hinder our enemies. Let us hope his might will slow them down.
As you continue down the Tradeway, and the sea to your West churns with dark clouds, the wind starts to pick up here on land as well. The sky overhead is gray with clouds, but at least not the black of those further out to sea. As you are coming up on an area where the woods to the East encroach on the road, the owl familiar, as well as the wild-shaped druid, both spot movement in those trees. The main group is still a bit away from the area with the motion though. We'll say the main group is 300 feet back from the area, and moving quickly in that direction.
Kerah flies a litte lower, though still high enough to avoid attracting attention, hopefully. He tries to see what made the movement he saw. Was it just a boar? A minor threat ge could trust the others to deal with? Or was it some danger the others should know about?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The owl makes a pass over the road so as to get close enough to report the threat to Aio and the elf responds telepathically "follow my horse if it runs off." He then calmly leans forward to fiddle with something on his horse's reins and bit before stopping the horse and dismounting on the side opposite the forrest. He takes a step forward and pretends to mess with his horse's tack for a second and then steps back behind the bulk of the beast where he casts Greater Invisibility on himself, hopefully at least somewhat out of sight of whatever lurks in the woods on the opposite side of the horse.
Aio then rounds behind his mount and heads back down the road about 50ft before trying to sneak into the woods a bit to get a closer look.
Ssej notices the commotion behind him and stares in astonishment at the theatrics and shakes his head. As graceful and competent a fighter that Aio is, I could teach him a bit on how to be subtle.
Ssej will then ride his horse back to the wagon, "Think my horse needs a bit of a rest, I will continue on foot for a bit." Then will tie his horse to the wagon and then move slightly ahead of it on foot. He will keep an eye out for trouble in front of them.
Brock looks and ahead and see the horse without its rider. He pulls his staff and shield up and says, "Something is going down keep your eyes peeled folks." He begins looking side to side.
“A rabbit..you are full of tricks” Yashin laughs at Brock’s story, sure that only ten percent of it is true, if that much.
He nods to both Ichika and Senna “It is a small thing to stop the rain, but it has its uses. If it can help ease the burden of our travel, so much the better.”
He slows the wagon for just a moment, allowing Ssej to place his mount with the small herd of horses they now have following them. He picks up the pace, unaware of the activity of the riders to their front, but keeping his eye turned to the growing storm to the west. “Yes, Senna, let us hope whatever is coming, it is unable to escape the Storm Lord’s wrath”
With Brock's warning, he turns his eye from the storm and starts scanning the forest creeping against the road, keeping his hammer close at hand.

Dipping down you head towards the forest where you spotted the motion. As you get closer you see several individuals in the forest, clearly waiting for something. Flying along you would notice the symble of Bane on many of the individual's shields and armor. Even as you are noticing this though a man in wizardly robes lifts a hand, sending a blast of fire at you...

"if the storm is so close to shore," he remarks. 'or close enough for us to see, does not state that our enemies in all this are close as well?"
Kerah is once again soaring through the skies in the shape of a Giant Eagle, keeping watch on the party from above.
