The bandits do not see Cale slip into the shadows, but they are taken back by Inglenook's challenge. They drop their bags, crack their knuckles, and then see Travis fumble the kobold. It hits the ground a foot or two away with a thud; those close by hear it say, "Ouch...why do this to Kenny?!" The bandits each look at each other and throw their heads back to let out a hearty laugh. They grin and draw their scimitars.
(For those who haven't rolled initiative, we are back into combat!)
Kirari gets a wicked grin on her face, widening her amber eyes and showing more teeth emphasizing her tusk-like canines. She pulls her great club from her back and engages the nearest enemy provided it doesn't endanger an ally in the swing of her club.
Travis's face squinches up in frustration when the flinging of the kobold goes awry. He feels a twinge of regret when he hears the prisoner refer to himself in the third person with a bit of self-pity.
The laughter of the three men snaps him right out of it. He draws his sword and swings his shield into place. "Come on then!"he barks at them. "Keep laughing while you can!" With his sword hand, he motions to all three of them as if to say "Come and get me."
((OOC: He'll attack anyone who comes at him or close enough that he can attack without moving. He'll move if need be to get in an attack this round.))
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
So far, for the order, I have Boris, Marcus, Cale, Travis, Bobby, and Kiari (I think I can take us through these moves and add the other Cale's action as well as Inglenook's action if they roll higher and want to jump into combat).
Boris, with an evil grin, strides over to Travis with the scimitar raised boldly over his head to come and get him. Attack: 14 Damage: 6
Marcus pulls out a sling and flings a stone at the gnome while saying, "This will teach ya!" Attack: 7 Damage: 6
Cale is well-hidden in the shadows, and I'll work in his attack or action post next (I don't think I saw it on the thread yet?). (As before, all attacks/actions are welcome, and I'll make updates to the combat as I get them).

Cale lines up on Boris, the bandit reminding him of a lad back home - all faux bonhomie and broken promises - lies as big a giant horse cart. Seething at the memory, he tries to take down this totally unrelated man, although his own actions brought him to this point.
Short bow Attack: 14 Damage: 5
And in case I get advantage for being hidden, second attack roll 15 and sneak attack damage 3
Inglenook on seeing that the fight is going ahead, and eager to get it finished quickly in time for dinner, activates a small spikey object in his grasp by muttering some words into it. Activating it's arcane magic he then hurls the object at the nearest of the bandits, which grips easily onto their loose clothing. The other object in the pair, attached to a nearby rock, is immediately attracted to the bandit and it flies towards him to strike...
Catapult Spell:
Choose one object weighing 1 to 5 pounds within range that isn’t being worn or carried. The object flies in a straight line up to 90 feet in a direction you choose before falling to the ground, stopping early if it impacts against a solid surface. If the object would strike a creature, that creature must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the object strikes the target and stops moving. When the object strikes something, the object and what it strikes each take 3d8 bludgeoning damage.
Kirari sets her sights on Marcus charging at him with her club. "Mighty Mercenary attacks the gnome?! A sling? Is that the biggest weapon you can manage? Do you need some help hefting a sword? Or did you leave it at home with mother?" intimidation15
Marcus dodges the catapult aimed at him by Inglenook, successfully ducking just in time. (apologies for the late reply and not stating that in my original post!)
(Ah, I meant to set the scene a bit more for you all!)
Marcus has a concussion and is definitely intimidated by Kiari. Marcus covers his face with his arms saying, "Enough of this, just let me go; they don't pay me enough!" I think Inglenook would be up next if he wanted to try and finish him off. Otherwise, I am okay if we wanted to move out of combat; it is all up to our gnome artificer :)
If we want to still beat up on Marcus, it would be his turn after Inglenook and then we have Cale, Travis, and Kiari
BTW, Kiari and the rest of the party would see three purple bags at the defeated bandits' feet along with the scimitars they have dropped. Kenny is more or less in the same state he was before Travis flung him (stepping in and out of consciousness).
Marcus replies, "I figured you all knew...My buddies, Boris and Bobby, and I were given a contract from the Cult of the Dragon. They are super interested in getting as much loot as they can." His voice trembles a bit looking over at Kiari again. "I need my share of the loot," he says, "But I didn't sign up to die! This was supposed to be an easy smash and grab job. No one told us about you lot! Are you working for Nighthill?!"

20 - Initiative
If any of the enemy are still standing...

Great club Attack: 18 Damage: 6
(lost track - Kevmo whose turn is it?)
(lost track - Kevmo whose turn is it?)
Boris misses on his attack (potentially caught up in his own bravado)
Inglenook's catapult launches toward Marcus who does a Dex savings throw of 2 (if it fails, I can roll the damage, which is 12 )
Cale's shortbow takes Boris out and he is KO'ed!
Travis gets Bobby and KO's him as well!
Kiari's attack wounds Marcus (if he is not KO'ed by the catapult)
By the way I am judging it, it looks like Marcus is down. Achievement unlocked: Bad guys can't even get a successful attack in! :)
What do you do now, adventurers?
@Jynne, since we are out of combat, we are back to role playing :) (unless the disguised Cale wants to make some sort of last attack action)
(sorry I have been away from my computer a little more than normal, folks; I'll try to get back to posting at lunch and after work)
Kirari looks around for Kenny and the bags they dropped. Are they still here?
Marcus dodges the catapult aimed at him by Inglenook, successfully ducking just in time. (apologies for the late reply and not stating that in my original post!)
(yay! Kirari gets to bonk him with her great club!)
(Ah, I meant to set the scene a bit more for you all!)
Marcus has a concussion and is definitely intimidated by Kiari. Marcus covers his face with his arms saying, "Enough of this, just let me go; they don't pay me enough!" Travis holds his still-bloody sword in hand as he glares at the remaining enemy. "Who doesn't pay you enough?" he snarls.
Cale's ears prick up at the mention of pay. He steps out of cover and wanders over to stand beside Travis.
"Yes! Tell us who's holding the purse strings for this little party!"
(Assuming we are out of combat)
