Being rather insightful, Pardot sees a bit of hesitation in Dav's actions, and skips foward as the crew walks to be beside her. He says, "Dav, I know this is your, er, our, dream, but that laugh at the beginning, and the changes. We should be careful. It's possible that someone is highjacking it maybe..."
"You should tell us about the place we are headed to," Triäsa says. "What does it look like? What do you remember about the place? If you describe it we can all focus on being there." Her tone is very serious, a bit incongruous coming from a child.
Daventry closes her eyes a moment. "Where I want to take you is the city of marble. It seems such a wonderful place, but I do not think we will find the answers we seek. No. We must go to the grove of Nodens... across the wasteland of this place, through the orange light, to the place where he rests."She opens her eyes, set resolute on the horizon. "It must be that way. We saw the image... and as best I know, this place is about image and willpower." She looks at her companions, and at herself.
"We are all an ideal... Pardot and Ludolf, both of you are a bit younger, cleaner, refined in your own way... but confidant in the persons you've become. I guess I am the version of me that I dreamed of as a little girl." Daventry gives a quick laugh. "A fairytale hero! Could you imagine?"She hesitates again, then looks at Triasa. "And Tri... you dream of innocence, of yourself before adult life kicked you betwixt the legs. I wish I could dream of those days."
Daventry looks to the horizon. "Regardless, I am glad to take these first steps with you."
You stride proudly forward toward the forest, your only marker in this strange dream.
You take a step and travel a few feet forward. Your take another step and travel backwards a few more feet. Then forward ten feet and to the side twenty. With another step you seem to travel beyond the forest and turn to find the tree line 50 feet behind you. Perhaps it's not you, perhaps the forest itself is toying with you
It's maddening, though thankfully not literally (yet).
With the trees behind you and as close as you've been to them you can see more clearly the trees and the vegetation itself.
The trees and underbrush are shockingly and disturbingly normal. Rather mundane prodigious oak trees are densely packed together with a lush green undergrowth. There is no sound or movement from the forest, not a squirrel, a butterfly or any creature big or small disturbs the greenery.
What is not normal is a strange fluorescent fungi that clings to the trees and the bark. It gives a strange green, yellow glow to your surroundings. Mercifully your quarry has given up it's game with your next few steps you are relieved to find you make normal progress toward the woods.
When you get to the treeline you find there is a small dirt path that continues deeper into the woods.
Perception from all. The trees are too thick for Edgar to give any intel from the sky but he could fly into the woods ahead of you if you'd like.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Still untrusting of the dream land as a whole, and now more so as forest seems to be moving them around at it’s own will, Pardot does what he does best, which is to simply focus and observe.
Ludolf you hear some sort of wet chomping sound from inside the forest. It is a bit hard to say exactly how far in but there is clearly something in there eating.

Edgar silently edges forward blending in with the softly glowing fungus amongst the heavy oak trees. Carefully he approaches the sound that is maybe 50 feet into the woods and just off the main path. Edgar stifles a telepathic gasp as he allows you a glimpse through his eyes.
You see a large creature, 16 feet tall black-furred beasts with vertically-opening fanged jaws. Two eyes protrude from either side of their head, and their limbs bifurcate at the elbows, giving them four separate forearms. The creature is hunched over devouring some sort of larger rodent like creature that is torn apart beyond recognition. Too obsessed with his meal it does not notice Edgar.

"There is a brutish-looking giant aberration over in the woods just off the main path, I'm not sure if we can somehow lure it away but I seriously doubt it can be reasoned with."Ludolf says grimly, looking between the others in the team. "Suggestions?"
"I can summon a bird to flap around and maybe distract it," Pardot says, adding, "No idea if it would follow or not, but the fey spirit I summon has no ties to our plane, so we need not fear for it."

Pardot sees Daventry clench her fist momentarily.
"I know. Gods, I know. I hate that... that thing so much. To think I might have... no... that I did accept his boons... even for a moment."
She looks at Pardot, conflicted. "I don't want to lose my way again. And I don't know any other path forward."
