Oz's quick reflexes pay off again. The Tiefling falls flat on his face, groaning in pain. He rolls over, revealing a hidden dagger sticking from his abdomen. It's a nasty looking wound, but he'll live. Three against one and a dagger to the stomach has taken the fight out of him.
The tension visibly eases from Amon's shoulders, and he moves his hand from the hilt of his blade.
"Would you two help me get him back topside? And grab that thing would you? They call it a dragon's snout or some such foolishness. Devilish contraption, but quite effective. Lucky for us you were too quick for it. The business end of that thing makes a terrible mess."
Amon Veer goes over to give Fartok a hand. He shrugs at his question. “A mechanist’s contraption. It functions using projectiles containing dragon powder. Terzen seems to think they’ll level the playing field in this war he’s trying to start. His people have stockpiled barrels of the stuff in a hideout somewhere in the city. Very expensive stuff, and very rare.”
There is silence, then after several minutes a rope ladder is lowered and done if the more able tavern patrons scurry down to give you a hand. They look at you with a new sense of wonder. Amon pulls the dagger from Terzen’s abdomen, bring a snarl of pain from the Tiefling.
”let’s get you patched up for the gallows shall we?”
Amon cuts a strip from Terzen’s cloak and uses it to bind his wound.
With a little teamwork you manage to haul the Tiefling up the rope ladder and drop him at the feet of Constable Barrow. He sizes the two of you up.
Amon appears from the hatch and says “my saviors as far as I’m concerned.”
Constable Barrow furrows his brow. “Aye, is that so? And where was my savior when that no good devil almost took my head off with that blasted contraption!?”
Amon dusts himself off. “Luck was the only salvation you needed Barrow. And besides, Terzen’s a terrible shot. Good work at any rate. The Sergeant Major and I will have some more questions for this one before the day is out.”
He holds out his hand to Oz. “You have my sincere thanks my friend. Both of you. My apologies for the subterfuge and getting you embroiled in this”
Oz reaches out and shakes his hand and says "Well met. My friends and I were here washing down the dust from road when this person had to go and cause a commotion. Do you need anything further from us?" He looks around the room for Father Teritus and seeing him gone looks for Azure and Urister.

Oz also bends down and grabs the arm of the tiefling. Oz shouts up at the trap door "you guys ready to receive the criminal, Constable?"
