"The bodies? Hang them in the trees so the bluetits can peck at them." Wolfe answers, only half joking. "Or just move them to the side of the road, along with horses, we wouldn't want a traffic jam. What do you say Krull, ever carried a horse before?"
Krull relaxes his muscles now that the fight is over..he returns where are the dead horses "Nasty little goblins..cowards most of them! " He says to the others " they picked the wrong group.. you are excellent fighters"
Edryd looks at the carnage, "Let these defilers of the darkness rot under the forsaken sun for all I care but it seems there may be others in danger. We should not delay here I think the rest of our group is in significant peril."Satisfied by Wolfe inspection of the area he would instead turn to the dropped items collecting them and giving them to Rabbit, "We are to protect their things, these seemed important to the one called, Gundren."He would look anxiously to others ready to move on quickly.

"Umm, yes excellent fighters, did you hear that Rabbit, I don't believe I've ever been called that before." He says jokingly to Rabbit beside him. "And regarding goblins and bravery, I don't even think the word exists in goblin," He adds with a smirk.
Rabbit does help Wolfe investigate. (Post #160). She nods in agreement with Krull as he mentions everyone being excellent fighters. "Yes, you all did really well. Took care of them goblins quite efficiently."
As Erdred hands her the collected papers she looks at him a bit quizzically. "Umm... thanks?" She does stow them carefully in her pack. "So, Erdryd looks anxious to go, but which way? Find Gundren and Sildar? Or their bodies at least."
Mau, looking through the bodies very quickly, you don't find much but it seems like you're distracted by Wolfe and Rabbit searching the woods. You find 14 silver pieces among the bodies, along with a variety of knick knacks and bones, including some bone dice. Of course, the weapons are there as well: 2 short bows, 2 scimitars, 4 daggers, only 20 arrows total. Mau, Wolfe, Rabbit - looking around the woods, you find tracks and a trail in the north embankment heading to the northwest. You'd guess a dozen or more goblins have come through this way. You also see drag marks and with your survival checks, you can tell they are human-sized. Two sets of drag marks leave the trail and you can see where they were hauled up the embankment and where they flattened the grass, disturbed the earth, etc... Edryd, you give the items to Rabbit for some reason and you note the legitimately confused look on her face. Not much can be discerned on the paper, it almost looks like someone ripped out and ripped again many of the pages, and there are still a bunch scattered around, in the trees, sticking to the horses, etc... Krull, you bask in the glory of victory and your compliments are received well. You get a few eyebrows and nods of approval for your command of goblin.
Your thoughts are brought back by the snorting of the oxen and you recall your deal with Gundren to deliver the goods safely to Barthen's Provisions in Phandalin.
(Assuming she notices the dice.) Rabbit comes up to Mau after he checks out the bodies. "Hey, want those bone dice? Because I really enjoy playing dice. Be nice to have those."
Looking at the tracks with Mau and Wolfe, she considers. "You guys did a fine job on these goblins, but 12 goblins here mean more wherever they went! Best we can do for Gundren and Sildar would be get that cart to Phandalin. Rally some help there. Can't be far, right?"
"I like this idea but what about Mr rockseeker or Mr Sildar? Who is going to pay us if they are dead? I say we find the rest of those goblins and teach them a lesson!"says Krull crossing his big arms
"Okay, let's go back and tell the others." Wolfe says as he, Rabbit and Mau are finished with investigating the tracks. "Listen, it seems apparent that our client and his escort didn't make it to Phandalin. I will admit I'm not being someone to normally race off doing heroics like saving merchants from the clutches of goblins, but in this case the merchant in question owes all of us gold. I suggest we park away the oxen and the cart by the side of the road and quickly mount a rescue mission. The goblins will likely have loot in their camp, and killing them is always fun sport, right Krull. Now, who of you brave adventurers are with me?" Wolfe asks as he addresses the others back by the cart.
“Dice have never been my game, you are welcome to them.” Mau looks up from the goblins holding out the dice set for Rabbit before stowing the rest of the usable gear on the back of the wagon. “The thought of delving into a goblin lair does not bode well with me, but as Krull says the two people set to pay us have been captured. The longer we leave them the less likely they will be to survive.”
Edryd looks at his party, "I am very hesitant to leave the others to the whims of goblins. It seems odd that dark creatures such as them would even bother with prisoners. Why not just kill them here and take what they want? It seems wrong to just abandon them in a time of need, they need our help and time is critical. With Selune's blessing we can rescue them."

So it looks like you're going to follow the trail.
Wolfe steers the oxen off the path a little ways and ties them up. There is lots of grass for them to eat so you're not super worried. You wonder about leaving all the supplies in the open but trust that this really isn't a well-used trail.
Okay, the trail isn't very wide, enough to go single file. Can you tell me the marching order for the party as you move along the trail?
As Krull immediately heads directly into a tree Wolfe quickly suggests that Mau could take point with Krull helping him to keep a look out for goblin ambushes and traps, followed by himself and Rabbit, with Edryd keeping rear guard trailing a bit to not alert the goblins of their presence by his smell alone.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
May takes lead down the trail, knowing goblins and be tricksy creatures he cautious moves in a half crouch checking the ground for any traps (Perception: 13) while ensuring he doesn’t lose the tracks the goblins have created (Survival: 8) “Krull, keep an eye on the trail ahead for any goblins that may appear, I’ll look out for any traps.”
Rabbit thanks Mau for the dice and finds a spot within her pack to stash them. She then listens to the others as they all seem set on marching, to what seems to her, their doom. She concedes to following after Wolfe with Edryd behind her.
"Need a better plan than 'Me smash goblin head.'" Rabbit says quietly, and sounding somewhat annoyed, as they move away from the cart and main road. "Scope out the place first at least."
She too keeps a close watch for any ambush. (Perception: 10)
Mau leads you down the goblin trail. After about 15 minutes or so, he holds up a paw in alarm. He points out a snare set in the leaves on the trail, cautioning you all to be careful not to step in it. You all nod at the Tabaxi in thanks and continue on your way....
An hour later of travel and you come to a part of the trail that's a little wider than it has been so far, but not by much. As Mau moves cautiously forward, his foot sinks into the leaves and sticks in front of him and he pitches forward!
"The bodies? Hang them in the trees so the bluetits can peck at them." Wolfe answers, only half joking. "Or just move them to the side of the road, along with horses, we wouldn't want a traffic jam. What do you say Krull, ever carried a horse before?"
