Laura jumps in suprise as the wolves fall. She inches closer and pokes them with a stick before being satisfied they are dead. As she watches the others rescue the people she looks around the area for signs of more riders.
She whispers to Pru, "Should they need more healing I can help but I'd prefer to save my light for when we find these thugs."

This Mug immediately shared with me a transcendental tale of an Infinite Mug that anchors the Universe and keeps it from folding in on itself. I filed this report under "illogical nonsense" and asked why its sign is in Times New Roman font, when it is basic knowledge that Arial Black is a far superior font. I wondered: How did this mug even get past the assembly line with its theistic beliefs and poor font choices?
quote from Romantically Apocalyptic byVitaly S Alexius
As you fix the wagon, a few hours go by, putting it around midnight. Laura and Pru realize that there is more traffic headed left at the fork than from the right, which is the way Svana and Rolof came from. Only problem is, with the rain, mud and darkness, they cannot determine if the track are fresh or days old.
As you finish tacking the horse back to the wagon and putting Rolof in, you finally realize the rain had stopped and there's a nice break in the clouds. The full moon shines across the dampness like dancing crystals. You can hear more wolves off in the distance, but are unable to determine from which way.
"Thank you. Thank you by the gods."Svana exclaims. "I don't know how to repay you." She climbs into the wagon grabbing the reigns. "I do hope you find what you're looking for." She snaps the reigns and the horse begins to slowly walk.
"Follow the men again? There is signs of decent traffic to the left. I think that is the way we thought we should go," Laura says looking at her new companions

While the wagon is being fixed, Pru does a quick look at what might be in the wagon. She's not looking to take anything unless something catches her eye, but she's still curious about these two apparently defenseless father and daughter traveling alone at night.
Perception: 10
"Stay safe," Pru says as Svana heads off. "And you owe us a warm meal and hot cider when we cross paths again."
She turns back to Laura and nods at her suggestion.
"We've already lost too much time. So, yes. Let's get going." Pru says.
If the others are ready, she's ready to head up the path towards where they were told the rider may have taken the children.
As you watched the family ride off, you mount and head up the road. The night air has gotten colder as the season makes its way from fall to winter. Soon enough, snow will begin to fall, but not today. The road is pitted and rutted. The mud makes the incline dangerous for the horses. One wrong slip on a rut and there's sure to be a downed horse. About thirty minutes later, you can see flickers of light off to the right along the wood line. As you get closer, it seems to be a cave. The almost barren oaken branches do natures job in almost hiding the entrance.
As you climb the dangerous road, the cave opening sits up on a small shelf along the roadside. There are no horses that you can see, just the faint flicker of light lets you know that it's occupied.

Pru halts and slips off her pony, looking up at the cave as she does.
"So do we charge in or take a little quiet peak first to see what we're up against?" Pru asks the others. "Assuming this isn't just some farmer who camped out to avoid the rain."
While waiting for the others to chime in before she does what she's planning to do anyway, she thinks about what they were told earlier.
"There was mention of a manor or something up this road wasn't there? Could be connected."

I'm going to be heading out of town for a couple of days for work. I think I'll be able to check in relatively regularly still but might be a touch slower than everyone else. If everyone agrees on a quiet look - I'm okay with a bit of botting of Pru if needed to keep things moving - here's her stealth roll for now to sneak up to the cave: Stealth: 23
"We should definitely check to see who or what is inside," says Aranor, nodding at Pru. He watches with some amusement as she already heads toward the cave entrance without much pause to consult anyone else. The halfling is headstrong if nothing else. "We shall wait here for your initial report."
"Im guessing by the light and the armor you are a cleric. Of what faith?"

Pru makes it to the entrance unnoticed. She nods and tilts her head a bit, as if silently dancing to music. She slowly turns and makes her way back to the party. "Well, I don't think it's a farmer who just got out of the rain. But there's definitely someone in there. A few someones to be precise."she exclaims as she adjust her outfit. "Oh, and there's a wolf sleeping just inside the entrance."

Pru looks up at Kaladin, raising an eyebrow, wondering whether that was a joke or not.
"Well, if I was going to distract them with a song while I explored buttoned up pockets," Pru begins, "I'd have a plan or two in mind. But we're looking for stolen kids and time isn't on our side. I say we just walk in and see what's up and if they've got the children in there we, well mostly you, knock some heads. If not we can see what information we can get out of them."
She looks back up at the ledge.
"Wolf might be a bit of a wild card though. Don't think they control the wolves to set upon travelers to rob them, do you? Neat trick if they can. Druids gone bad?"

Laura smiles at Kaladin, "I was blessed to have Corellon smile upon me. He granted me the power to not only protect others but to burn away those who oppress others."
Despite himself, Aranor approves of the halfling's plan. "I shall take the lead," he announces, heading toward the cave entrance, barely tossing a glance behind him to make sure the others are following.
As he passes he catches what the half-elf Laura says about her patron deity, and he approves of that too. She may be a half-breed but at least she worships the right gods, he thinks to himself.
He approaches the entrance to the cave, unsheathes his sword, and prepares to retaliate immediately if anyone pops out to attack.
As Aranor unsheathes his sword, the wolf pops his head up, snarling from ear to ear. You hear a bit of mumbling coming from the back of the cave but don't see anyone.

Pru doesn't see anything shiny or worthwhile. Clothes, sacks of food.
