“The secret we should never let the gamemasters know is that they don't need any rules.” ― Gary Gygax
Class/Planned Subclass: Warlock / Hexblade / Pact of the blade
Background: Charlatan
Backstory:
Halyassa grew up alone, always on the run. She was raised at an orphanage in Neverwinter. She seemed to come from well-to-do parents and always seemed to have a benefactor looking after her, but she remained hidden away from her parents. As she grew up and learned the streets she joined a network of spies in Neverwinter, and she began to build powerful connections, enjoyed a relatively lavish life… until a powerful person found out she had sold secrets belonging to them. They burned everything to the ground, and she went on the run, dodging assassins in shadows and checking over her shoulder at every town.
She never sits with her back to the door. She was able to create another identity to hide her true background. Halyassa would like to seek revenge one day and discover who her true parents are. She is not aware of her benefactor, the spirit that communicates with her in her sleep, guiding her - for what purpose she does not know. She has been given the gift of sight and accuracy and she is deadly with a sword.
Halyassa was slipped a mysterious note one night, put under her cup on the table in the local dive bar. She felt that she was remaining unobserved, hiding sufficiently in the dark corner, but when she went to the ladies room to get rid of some ale, a note was waiting for her when she returned. She was advised to meet with a group of adventurers, at a mysterious sounding house and was given directions. There was secret knowledge alluded to regarding her benefactor and her background. Curious and in spite of her better judgement, she decided to follow the breadcrumbs to see where they led...
Backstory: Lular was born with a strong sense of wanderlust, never happy to stay in one place for very long, much to the chagrin of his teachers and family members. He would much prefer exploring near by caves and crypts. When he finally reached adulthood he snuck out late one evening with his trusty bow and has never looked back. He continues to travel the world, experiencing as much as possible, trying to absorb all the legends and fables from the people he meets and explore the lands held within the stories.
Backstory: Born to a family of smiths, Krumram has always shown a great aptitude with the hammer and anvil, from an early age he was producing items that far surpassed his brothers and sisters. He always believed his hands were guide by a higher power. When the time arose for him to start his own forge he dedicated all of his work to Tharmekhûl, the tender of the forge. He sets out various quests to find the rarest materials to allow him to produce more unique equipment, in order to further please his deity.
Wrenn grew up on the streets learning to fend for himself. One day he broke into a pawn shop the owner and his son walked in as he was picking the lock on the safe. Unfortunately for them he was distracted by the event and accidently set off a poison gas trap that killed both and laid him up for days. He still see's their faces when they died and wheezes every once in a while. Distant look in his eyes.

Name: Thazys
Abilities: 16118101215
Race: Human
Class/PlannedSubclass: Fighter/Battle Master
Background: Mercenary Veteran
Backstory: Born into a middle class family, Thazys was quickly drawn to mercenary work. Even though it was one of few options available for him, it proved to be an enjoyable and profitable endeavour for him. After many years, with as many gains as there were losses, he began to realise that perhaps his purpose was bigger than just meddling in worldly human affairs and hostilities, thus started mustering a way in which his capabilities would be put to use for a greater good for all and not just for his patrons. Following this new path he somehow came in contact with The House of Lament..
Class/Planned Subclass: Barbarian/Path of the Zealot
Background: Acolyte
Backstory: Bigan was born the only son of a wealthy human aristocrat and a half elf minstrel at a party in a lord's castle close to Baldur's Gate. Born with purple eyes, Bigan did not seem like a normal child, his mother believed him to be blessed by Milil himself and taught him the ways of poetry and song. Though Bigan did not have the most coordinated fingers nor the best singing voice, he grew up to be quite the looker and admired the Lord of Song. He would regularly frequent the church of Milil with his mother and parties showcasing the arts. Though Bigan did not participate much, he was a powerful, imposing figure that would protect and support the bards and poets of Milil without any qualm or question, he also had a sort of 'conscience' he called Avahl that he took advice from to do the right thing, but half the time he'd ignore her. Life was good for for Bigan. He had a loving mother and father, several friends, a loving community to go back to, adored for his beauty and power, he even had a dragonborn girlfriend... but this was about to change one faithful night.
One night, during a very, very wild party hosted at Bigan's house, a lot of wild magic was released by a sorcerer that just came to town. The next morning, Bigan woke up miles from his home. Marching back home, half naked and groggy, he found his home utterly trashed and his father mysteriously missing. The guards arrived not too long after to reveal several others have disappeared from town, including Bigan's lover. In the basement of the home, one of the party patrons was found and Bigan was charged with kidnapping. For years, Bigan was forced into hard labor, refining his strength but also sulking in misery and rage at the loss of his loved ones. It was only Bigan's mother that believed her son was innocent. After years of working, Bigan was released for good behavior and his mother pulling strings. Though he was freed, Bigan was forced into exile. Wandering the vast forests east of Baldur's Gate for weeks and at the end of his wits, Bigan experienced a spiritual vision of a songbird leading him off. Following the songbird as a sign of Milil, he swore that if he were to find his way back to civilization, he'd work his hardest to reclaim his reputation and find a way to return home. The songbird lead him out of the forest where he oversaw Candlekeep in the distance. Making it to Candlekeep, Bigan turned to life as an adventurer. Taking up a greataxe and fashioning a mask through guidance from his conscience, Bigan was ready to forge his own epic.

Sorry, new ability roll: Ability scores: 141713131612
Race: Gem Dragonborn
Class/Planned Subclass: Wild Magic Sorcerer
Background: Outlander
Backstory: Misira was the small one of the family. She had two siblings that constantly looked down upon her and even gave her the nickname “cricket”. She was never able to get out from behind their shadows. Because of this she thought she would never amount to anything and took to being a wanderer. She did learn to protect herself and survive out in the wild, and at one point found a thin spot in the elemental plane. She fell through and enveloped in wild magic. She was able to escape back her to normal plane, but has this new ability she is trying to work with and understand. After being taunted most of her life, she is quite enjoying this new found power even if she has difficulties controlling it.
Personality Traits
I place no stock in wealthy or well-mannered folk. Money and manners won’t save you from a hungry owlbear.
Ideals
Change. Life is like the seasons, in constant change, and we must change with it. (Chaotic)
Bonds
I suffer awful visions of a coming disaster and will do anything to prevent it.
Flaws
I am slow to trust members of other races, tribes, and societies.
Lyreth was a Knight of the Order of the Green. She defended her forest for years, not for fame or glory but out of devotion. Many years ago, a necromancer decided her forest was the place to raise an army of undead. The conflict was long and near fatal. She was victorious but was badly wounded. Her head nearly split, the faeries of the forest did the best they could to aid her. When Lyreth awoke, she heard songs and laughter. For a time she forgot that she was a warrior of the green. Instead, she sang and danced with the fae of the forest. That was until another invasion came. The horrors of combat came back to her and awoke the Knight within. She is in the city due to familial obligation. Her uncle and last living relative requested aid in tending one of the civil parks. Knowing his favorite niece to have the greenest of thumbs, he asked for her help.
Class/Planned Subclass: Wizard/Bladsinger(with a plan to go into Bard/College of Blades)
Background: Performer
Backstory: Born the union of a male drow refugee from the Underdark and a Vistani woman, Vyverous enjoyed a life of travel and song. Vyverous, or Vivi as she is known to her friends and family, would spend hours listen to the stories and song of the others of her family learning everything she can. In time her father began to teach her how to use a blade and the history of the drow that he fled from. Around the same time her mother began to teach her spellcraft and how to play the flute, eventually even giving her a flute that had been passed down in her family.
As a young adult Vivi began to take her teachings and venture away from her family for days at a time preforming in taverns or inns her family has passed. It was at one of these stops where misfortune struck Vyverous, when she caught the eye of a lecherous nobleman who sought to have Vivi become his house musician. Wanting nothing more than to continue enjoying the freedom of travel, she politely refused at first but when the noble became insistent Vivi requested he allow her to perform one last time at the inn. Thinking that this would convince Vivi to join his house the nobleman agreed to her request so Vivi went to work. That night Vivi performed a song incorporating every horrible rumor and gossip she could find on the nobleman besmirching his character, his linage, his house, everything she could. This did not sit well with the nobleman so in retaliation he hired one of the maids of the inn to steal Vivi’s prized flute leaving a note that promised to return it if Vivi accepts his offer to be his house musician. Refusing to return to her family shamed by losing the flute Vivi works to take back what is hers.
Wyndam is obsessed with study of the occult. He’s read deeply on the subject, studying every story of a haunted house or a recurring phantom. This will be his first time ever going to investigate one first hand! He hopes to be able to gain new insight - the kind only gained through first hand experience! Oh and to help these poor people, of course… maybe… if there’s time.
Backstory: (Briefly) Abandoned at an Orphanage. Left at 15 to become a deck hand on a ship. Was given a perfume bottle I was found with. Perfume bottle belonged to his mother, a Marid Queen. She is also his patron. Now he sails to find his missing father.

I would like to remind people, that for abilities in this campaign it is just a roll of 4d6 drop the lowest. It is not a reroll of ones.
I'm looking to do this campaign with characters who are good at everything.
I'm looking for characters with more average abilities.
