• Pal Denzig - Variant Human Sorlock (Warlock 2, Sorcerer 6), confident some say proud but he doesn't think so.  More charismatic than intelligent but is very capable.  Practical dresser but not fancy or flashy.  His natural charisma can be a blessing and a curse because he is a good friend who makes friends easily but moves around to much to keep in long contact with any, this doesn't bother him because he makes friends immediately wherever he goes.

Character Name: Orig "Red Hammer" Thoradinson  

Race: Hill Dwarf 

Class: Barbarian 2/Battle Master 6

Background: Soldier

Personality: Calm (except in battle), stolid, a dwarf of few words, a warrior who appreciates good music despite (or because) of having no aptitude for it.

Backstory:  Orig's family was under constant siege by the orcish horde, fighting a losing battle of attrition, slowly giving ground each year. One time the orcs attacked when they were not prepared. Orig grabbed a war hammer but didn't have time to don armor as the orcs swamped them. His friends and family dying around him, a rage took hold in him which seemed to let him shrug off blows from their axes. In the end, only a handful of them remained, a costly victory which meant they had to leave their home and go into the wilderness. He learned to survive in the wild and nurtured his rage while they trekked to another dwarven stronghold, where he joined the defense force and received proper martial training.

CONCEPT
Race: Variant Human (Feat: Fighting Initiate - Unarmed Fighting Style)
Class: Barbarian 1 / Monk 7 (Open Hand)
Background: Outlander
Personality: A shy & quiet, generally kind young man (22yo now) who loves to eat, with a bit of a temper that he's learned to channel into athletic aggression. Very Halfling-like in mentality due to upbringing, and generally goes out of his way to help others.

BACKSTORY
Kip was an orphaned human, taken in by a wild tribe of halfling barbarians. He fit in easily, and learned their ways quickly, but with his size eventually shied away from their paths... true, he could tap into his rage, but doing so sometimes left him accidentally hurting his fellow tribesmen. It was then than another, distantly-related tribe of halfling monks came to visit, and it was decided that he would go to live with them and learn their ways (with occasional visits to his "home" tribe, of course.) The way of the open hand suited Kip much better, and allowed him to flourish to the point that he eventually set out to become an adventurer. And while he's visited home a few times since, he's never looked back from his path.

EXP: I've played 5e for several years now, and have both DM'ed and been a player in about equal parts
Availability: Should be able to check and post at least once a day, although that may be strained while traveling for the holidays (still shouldn't be more than 48 hours at most)

I'd started building the character before rolling for ability scores, and had used Point Buy... and apparently rearranging ability scores after 8 levels doesn't red-flag anything. *sigh*

I guess I'll be switching back to point buy for more even scores to get the concept to work again; the rework should be up shortly.
