The merchant stepped into the tavern, still smiling as he thought about his next venture. However, his face fell as he turned to find the establishment rather empty. "Bunch a blokes jus' lef' fo' an outin'," mumbled the wizened dwarf behind the bar as he glanced over while lazily polishing the glass in his hand.
Sighing to himself, Locke chose a table and sat down. A minor delay, he hoped, but he was content to wait... he wouldn't let it dampen his enthusiasm. His patron had given him a lead on how to reach a newer, relatively unexplored section of the forest; there was no way he would miss the opportunity to test out his new abilities by heading there. He'd even go by himself if he didn't know that taking such a risk would anger his patron.
"Such are the pains of a warlock," he thought to himself as he grimaced for a second before ordering an ale. But then the smile returned. "Still... It's going to be a good day."
Gordon shows up, willing to have another adventure. "I'll come, if you'll have me. We may want to find a healer, I almost met a nasty end when I made the mistake of traveling without one."

Gordon shows up, willing to have another adventure. "I'll come, if you'll have me. We may want to find a healer, I almost met a nasty end when I made the mistake of traveling without one."
Locke nodded. He'd traveled with Gordon before, and it had been a successful venture. "I think our previous companions have already gone off into the woods," he said. "But I'm sure we will find others. Acquiring a healer would be good, especially if the party becomes strong enough to draw more dangerous creatures."
Arasi Elfcloud comes into the Tavern...."Hail friends...I'm new to the area and looking for some adventure...If you know of any expeditions, I'd be interested if you'd have me?"
OOC - Depending on if you're looking for something a bit higher level than Arasi.
Arasi is a High Half Elf - 3rd level wizard.
Priphira is a Human Variant - 6th level Bard/Cleric
Rauccek is a Aarakocra - 3rd level Ranger/ 3rd level Cleric
The door to the tavern flies open and Rizo enters with a broad smile, “What a nice day! This is my favorite time of the year.” (Though who knows him is aware that all seasons are his favorites, although it might be that a particularly hot summer could be a special mention.) He waves to Gordon with a friendly gesture and walks to the bar, where he places his pack behind. With a sigh he prepares for a day of work while he clearly would prefer to be outside adventuring.
Ruaccek comes down from his room, "Anything interesting going on? I thought I heard some planning going on. My last outing was pretty good and I'm up for another."

"A good day, indeed!" thought the merchant as he appraised the two new customers.
The aarakocra seemed oddly familiar to him, although he'd never actually met one before. Still, he seemed strong, and his ability to fly would doubtless be a tremendous asset. "Join us, friend!" he waved to the adventurer, eager to have him on the team.
The.. druid? Maybe cleric? he didn't seem to know either, but he seemed to be fretting about something. "Perhaps he could be persuaded to join us as well," Locke whispered to Gordon as he pointed, not wanting to presume either success in the persuasion, or acceptance by his current companion. "A group of four sounds perfect, and he also looks like he might have a bit of healing magic. I suspect we might need it."
(( OOC - Just a heads up, I'd be happy to admin again, especially since I'll get to try out the new threat tables (from my sig.) But I don't want to jump on it if someone else were wanting to. ))
Rizo would be easily persuaded for another trip into the forest, “I can offer healing and fire spells mostly. Lead on, I’m behind you, can’t wait to get out again.”
OOC - So cool. I'd love to check it out as a future admin later on possibly...and more than happy to see what you got in store for the group.
If I may inquire...Since our Level range is 4-8, I'm guessing you will use the tier 2 5-10 encounters?
(( OOC - Yeah, I usually go by group average, rounding as needed. With the four of us going in--you, cyreon, Dragon_Heir and me--it's pretty much average character level 6, so I'll do tier 2. I'll make the rolls and have a thread up by this evening. ))
Locke nodded, and smiled. "Wonderful!" he said. "I know the perfect place to go for a few new challenges. Shall we?" With that, he lead the party out into the forest.
Outing Rolls:
First three threats (+1 for possible duplicate) - 2, 12 - 3, 9 - 4, 17 - 2, 8 Then we'll need 4 more threats, taking the first non-dupilcates... Next batch of threats - 1, 20 - 1, 19 - 3, 12 - 2, 3 - 3, 15
