The paladin readies his sword and shield, a firm look of determination in his eyes.
"If that is the case " he says in low voice "they will find that we are more than ready to face them, and send them to their Gods if that is their will. May Lathander's Light guide you comrades. " he says approving Baryeras idea.
He will wait at the road until the cart has been at the side of the road.
With indications of possible trouble afoot, Morgan insists on taking over the reins from Gelin if he has them. She suggests him moving to the back of the wagon to make sure the supplies are secure if they have to start moving quickly.
A worried look crosses her face as a sudden thought comes to her.
Turning to Baryeras, she asks, "How many horses did you say there are?"
Frixori had been studying one of her charts as she walks along behind the cart. Hearing a bit concern the voices of her companions she stuffs the papers back in her satchel and peeks are the side of the cart. "Trouble?"
While the ranger slips back to communicate with the companions near the wagon, Caradoc stands idly at the edge of the trail, fidgeting his fingers and squinting to try and see. After a long time (well, it seems like a long time to the halfling, anyway... probably only a few seconds for everyone else!) he tiptoes forward to see what happened to the horses, sort-of forgetting to look back and see if Baryeras was ready to come with him or not.

Hearing the one-way conversation between Cyrnair and Morgan, presumably, the tiefling beings to wander to the front of the group. As she passes the front of the cart, anyone near would hear her musing to herself, "I bet I've read something about this..."
Morgan waits for any sign of activity or alarm ahead of them, or for either Baryeras or Caradoc to return with a report. If the two minutes pass before either of them does, and there are no other signs of immediate trouble, she gently urges Hrogar forward at a slow, cautious pace.

"You've read something about dead horses in a road?" ask surprised Cyrnair to Froxori. That's the first time he lowers his sword since the situation arised.
OOC: so what’s the plan? Is someone scouting ahead and preceiving? Are you moving as a group? Let me know so we can have some potential rolls and story advancement :)

Frixori holds her position near the front of the cart, keeping an eye on the situation ahead. She pulls her hood up over her horns and addresses Cyrnair. "Well, not dead horses per se. However, in Etholbe's Adventure Guide to the Dessarin Valley it describes something similar. Some forest gnomes enjoy playing a game whereby they will see how many sleeping animals they can place in a mound without waking any up." She pause and scratches her chin, "Though I haven't heard it being done with something as large as a horse." She takes a step toward the horse and begins petting it on the haunch.

"Seems so. If not for us, it seems that another caravan had found a dire fate ahead. Our scouts are checking it. "

Morgan looks down at Cyrnair from the driver's seat, concern written across her face.
*He said two horses, right? You don't think they could have been Gundren and Sildar's, do you?*
" I fear they could " he replies. "Hope they are not. " he waited impatiently for the two minutes to pass and know something more.
