Elro Aldataur pauses for a moment to make sure no one was eavesdropping. Once satisfied he looks to Trem and Roxaria "Until yesterday, I and the rest of the community believed that Urgon’s sad fate was an isolated incident, most likely caused by something the dwarf came into contact with while exploring Eiselcross. Then I noticed Tulgi Lutan, a dwarf trapper, showing signs of the same illness"Elro clenches his fist in frustration and continues "I tried to talk to Tulgi about it, but she pushed me away, asking that I let her die in peace."
On the way to the Jolly Dwarf Trems takes a good look at his new companions. The Orc and the Goliath looked like proper meat shields and the Human was pretty enough. Yes, this could work out quite nicely!
Once inside Trem makes sure he sits next to Eline and tries to give her his most charming smile.
Hi, my name's Trem!
There's isn't much time for introductions as Elro speaks up when everone is gathered at the round table. Upon hearing Elro's words Trem leans in. His jovial demeanor turns into a serious attitude. Eline
What else do we know so far? Had Urgon said something? Did he have any idea what might have caused
Eline turns to the newcomer at the tavern, and returning a smile of her own, greets him in kind. "Well met, Trem. I'm Eline." Suddenly, she sees his demeanor change, and realizing that Elro is speaking, she quiets down and listens intently. Gods, but it was nice and warm in this tavern! She couldn't help but notice that minor detail. She pulls out her notebook, and begins again to scribble things down, notes and quick sketches of who would likely be her newfound companions, as well as details about Urgon's very unfortunate plight. She had never heard of such an affliction in her entire life, let alone when she was with Master Mackenzie in Cinderrest. She sketches a brief drawing of Elro speaking to the lot of them.
Turning and watching Trem speak in low tones, Eline keeps one ear open, and lets her mage hand do the drawing for the time being. She has a sinking feeling that this ice disease...whatever it was...was affecting either dwarves only, or it was isolated to this region. She couldn't be sure. Looking up at the old elf, she inquires, "have these inciddents been only here in this region? And have they only affected dwarven folk?"
Elro Aldataur looks to Eline "Urgon and Tulgi are the only ones I know of that are affected by this strange affliction. I am not sure if it only affects dwarven folk."
"I see...," Eline mutters. She is not healer or doctor of medicine, but she can tell when something is amiss. It seems so isolated, though! Nevertheless, if it spreads from this place onward, it could affect the whole region, at least she thinks so. Eline, without really thinking turns and watches Trem, drawing up a sketch of his facial features. She then looks to the gnome, Reginald, and sketches his face and garb as well. From there, she moves on to the elven woman--the soldier, as it were, and scratches down her facial features on the parchment as well. Honestly, if she could, Eline would be an artist for trade, were it not for...
“That’s a good question, Eline. I wouldn’t have thought of that relationship.” Roxaria was intelligent, but she could tell that Eline was not only intelligent but also perceptive that both victims were dwarfs. “So, both Tulgi and Urgon died from this cold affliction. Did this disease take several weeks to kill Tulgi as it did Urgon? Or did it happen quicker?”
Roxaria, in an attempt to learn from Eline’s association observation, “Were Urgon and Tulgi both trappers?”. Was that mentioned? She couldn’t quite remember.

Reginald listens to Elro Aldataur's story intently, thinking about what possible magicks could have done this (Acana +6) : 7) and also if there was any historical records of similar occurrences (History +6 : 8) He then turns to Elro awaits to be called upon for his opinion.
Looking at Trem and then the rest of the group "Please check on Tulgi and can you look over Urgon's home. We have tried searching for clues, but have found none so far." Elro shakes his head and asks the group "In your travels have any of you heard of this strange affliction?"

After greeting the others in the most social way Vauthok could possibly manage, ignoring the blatant fear that most tried to hide, he followed the group to the Jolly Dwarf. Following Roxaria’s lead, the barbarian grudgingly pulled the massive sword from his back and leaned against the wall against the weapon rack but left the twin handaxes dangling at his hips. Being completely unarmed wasn’t exactly something he was used to and now wasn’t the time to start trying new things.
With a nod to his escort, Vauthok found himself lumbering to the bar to order their drinks. A short exchange with the terrified barkeep and the large man returned to the table with two frothing mugs. He dropped one in front the elf and took a long pull from his own as the others conversed about the situation at hand. This sounded like some sort of affliction. That wasn’t exactly something Vauthok could cleave in two to remedy the situation and the healing arts had always been a lost cause. There were others among his herd proficient enough at mending the body that he had never saw reason to broach the subject. So he remained silent and watched the others, examining each new face.
”Tulgi.” His deep voice finally broke his silence. “She travels to the same places that Urgon goes?” It would make sense if their paths crossed at some point, unknowingly stumbling upon the affliction’s source. Or it didn‘t. Either way, Vauthok was very much out his depth without a enemy to track and kill. “In the Cyrios, my home, I have seen many ways to die but this..” Vauthok looks at each person sitting at the round table before taking another deep pull from his tankard and wiping his mouth with the back his massive hand. “This is unnatural..”
Elro looks up at the large Goliath "I don't think they traveled together. Urgon was gone for a year exploring while Tulgi was here working as a trapper." He then places a bag of coins on the table "I am willing to pay 150 gold, if those gathered here are willing to find the cause of this affliction."

Roxaria finds a spot on the table and tries to recollect the many years waiting tables on adventurers in her parent’s tavern before joining the Glass Blades. Were there any conversations that mentioned such an affliction? She knew that many a time she was busy bringing drinks, but surely… Roxaria focuses trying to jog her memory.
Roxaria looks at the bag of coins and the heavy clatter. “I need to make sure Sergeant Belgrum is good with it and I need to get my longbow and equipment from the barracks first, but yes, if those are my orders.”.
Roxaria thanks Vauthok for the drink. She immediately starts drinking, but stops, amazed at the Goliath’s ability to put a tankard down so quickly. At this point, instead of trying to impress and race Vauthok, Roxaria enjoys the drink. “I was going to challenge you, Vauthok. I used to serve drinks and had many a challenge with the elves and dwarves in my parent’s tavern, but never against a Goliath. You definitely have me beat. Where did you learn to drink like that?”

Elro looks at Roxaria "Tulgi has not died yet and there is still smoke rising from her chimney. Urgon was an explorer and Tulgi is a trapper."
Yes, Trem would be my name!
Trem replies to Roxaria, but loud enough for all. Best get that out of the way. In a low voice he askes Elro:
Maybe I could speak with Tulgi?

Roxaria and Vauthok vaguely recalls a tale of ancient magic from ages long past that cannot be dispelled, except by the mage who crafted the magic.

Trem tries to remember, did he hear about something like this in the Run?
