"Oh, here they are!" Khessa also pretends to notice the rest of the party only now "Yes, Tookrashk, they also are friends of us! They came to help us with the dragon. Welcome guys! This is Tookrashk, a new friend of us that is practically starving because of that dragon and that is eager to help against it! Do we have some meat with us right now? Or shall we go back a moment to town and fetch it?"
Replying to Jasper: "Yes, we could hunt, but I'd say we simply buy it. It must be possible to buy meat, in town. And with the townmaster's reward, costs should be easily covered."
"Or maybe..." Khessa tries to ask the midwife too "Adabra, do you have perhaps some meat in the pantry that you could throw from the window at the moment?"
If Khessa can get meat now, from Adabra or from the others, she feeds it to the manticore.
In case neither Adabra nor her companions have meat available the blonde warrior doesn't give up: "Oh, well, guess we are heading to town to fetch it then. It should not take long". Then, to the others "Shall we go? Or do you think it is better to hunt?"
”Maybe we can hunt on our way back to town. Could come in handy.”
"I trust your ability in that" is Khessa's answer, "I'm not especially good at hunting. Anyway, nothing wrong with trying. If we reach Phandalin without having found game, we can buy meat".
Waiting to find out if the midwife or the companions can provide some meat, Khessa gives to the manticore Jasper's meat ration: "Here Tookrashk!" smiles the tall blonde, coming near the monster and placing the food right in front of the new friend "This is just to get started, since you are so hungry, my dear! And do not worry, more to come."
If within 30', Rel instinctively uses Mage Hand to help hand the ration to the creature so Khessa does not have to be all the way right up next to it. She uses it to open the ration to present the meat first if necessary. Meanwhile, Rel's mind harbors doubt.
I still do not trust this monstrosity. It clearly likes to prey on those it considers weak. Thankfully the midwife Adabra was able to protect herself in the moment within the windmill. But the moment it has to face a superior foe such as the dragon, it will turn tail, or turn on us so as to save itself. But if the trick with the food at least allows us to free Adabra in this moment, then it is well worth it!
Falver realizes that the monster is, in fact, a manticore. He knows that manticores are not especially bright but possess a malevolent cunning and can speak. They often hunt in packs to take down large prey. If they see an advantage to sparing someone's life, they will do so in exchange for tribute. They are known to sometimes serve bands of orcs or goblins that can provide them with fresh prey regularly.

Adabra pokes her head back outside the window. "I don't have any meat!" she wails. "I haven't been to see Tom yet this week. He's the butcher in the village!"

With the help of Rel's mage hand, Khessa offers the meat ration to the hungry monster. Tookrashk eyes the small offering of meat with clear disdain. Still, it swallows the meat in one big gulp. "This barely a snack! Bring Tookrashk big meat or Tookrashk eat meat from your bones instead."
The monster doesn't appear to notice Echo's movement toward the other side of the windmill. It's curled up in front of the door, apparently prepared to wait as long as it takes for the party to bring it a big meal.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(Before the majority of the group heads to hunt) Echo frantically waves to the group (from her position towards the west side of the map), then points to the back of the windmill and gestures like she's clawing upwards in a climbing action, as quiet as she can be to not alert the beast. She runs to the back and begins climbing. Dexterity check: 9 (She has climbing speed equal to walking speed so she should be able to clear the distance ok as long as she doesn't fall lol)
(also @Sam sorry Falver's probably the only one still around!)
Rel starts to follow the trail of the apparently bloodied and injured animal and stops.
It is one thing to hunt for ones own survival or that of one's friends and family. But to kill some injured animal so this monstrosity can have a morsel? Better if Echo can sneak Adabra out and we can leave. Or fight it if necessary.
She returns, gesturing that she is empty-handed (which is true), and begins looking for a way to use Minor Illusion to make sure the creature does not notice what Echo is doing. She tries to assess whether Echo has a chance to safely climb into a back window (or wherever she is going) and perhaps drop a rope for Adabra to climb down, out of sight of the Manticore.
If it looks like that might work, Rel will start a Minor Illusion of audible weeping, sounding as she imagines it would sound if Adabra were weeping, from the upper floor. So that the sound can continue even if Adabra climbs out a back window and the monster will not suspect her departure.
Khessa, unaware of Rel's second thoughts, seeing that no one has found any meat nearby, urges: "Well, we just have to buy it in town, from Tom the butcher. It won't take long to get there and back. Shall we go?"
And she would be ready to go... unless someone tells her otherwise.
Looking back in the direction of town as if she's ready to go soon, Rel says quietly to Jasper in Elvish: "Echois climbing the windmill walls, I think to get Adabra out, perhaps through a back window. I think we should provide natural distraction, as if we are indeed departing for town to see Tom the butcher for some meat. We could even return with the meat so we can parley with the creature, but with the midwife safely away. Tell Khessa and Falver quietly and we can act as if we are discussing our hunting failures and plans to head into town."
With that, Rel, while still pretending to get ready to go and looking glum about her hunting "failure," begins casting the Minor Illusion of audible weeping, made to sound like Adabra, coming from the upper floor of the windmill. Hoping to continue it even as Adabra escapes.

(also @Sam sorry Falver's probably the only one still around!)
It takes a while, maybe about 15 minutes of careful climbing, because there aren't many hand and footholds on the outside of the windmill. At one point, Echo's hand slips, and she almost loses her balance, but she is able to slip inside the 2nd story window. Adabra Gwynn is there to greet her. She stares at the pale woman with wide, amazed eyes. It's obvious the middle-aged woman is still quite frightened. She wears her long brown hair that is streaked with grey in a braid, which she keeps tugging fretfully.
"Harbin was right," she said morosely. "I was a fool to think I could hold out here on my own. Don't you tell him that though when you return. That one's got a big enough head as it is!"

The minor illusion appears to work. Tookrashk doesn't seem to notice anything is amiss. The monster has been too focused all this time on Khessa and the others standing in front of it. It never even noticed Echo as she slipped around the side of the windmill earlier. Tookrashk does seem to be getting antsy though, pawing at the ground with its massive claws.
"Take too long!" Tookrashk complains. "Human and friends not good hunters."
“Patience Tookrashk. A deal was struck. We will see it done.” Jasper looks up to tell the large creature. Heart beating fast. “We will leave to retrieve you meat. And return before sundown.”
“If no one objects, I will go ahead quickly.” Jasper suggests to the others. Taking off his pack to leave it behind. Looking to Tookrashk, “I’ll be back for this.”
"Take too long!" Tookrashk complains. "Human and friends not good hunters."
"Maybe," conceeds Khessa, smiling reassuringly "but you'll get your food all the same. And without the effort of having to look for a prey and fight it. We'll soon be back and it will be worth it" and with that she starts to walk in direction of the town, eager to fulfill her part of the deal.
Later, when Jasper has a chanche to inform her of Rel's plan change, the tall warrior points out (to the elf, because presumably they have already set out and will no longer be close to the half-drow): "I really don't know if Adabra will really be safer trying a escape that will bring her into the open... It will be all well, if Tookrashk doesn't notice her, but if by chance the monster does detect her, it might feel deceived" there is concern in her blue eyes "and a fight could arise. A fight in which the midwife or some of our companions could be injured... if not worse. Undoubtedly, if nobody notices her, Adabra, once away, will be safer, I agree with that... but I don't know, she seemed safe enough to me even barricaded in the mill. I don't think Tookrashk will give up on our agreement easily... an agreement which provides food every day... only out of impatience. Anyway," the blonde warrior sighs, trying to reassure herself"we certainly can't go back to discuss now... wasting more time and risking to make Tookrashk suspicious. Presumably our fellow adventurers know what they do. We try to hurry up and hope that everything goes well".

Jasper raises up from behind the fence and walks towards Khessa cautiously. Eyes not leaving the manticore.
”What are we going to do?” Jasper quietly asks. “We have to hunt to feed it fresh meat. And every day?”
Jasper looks to Rel and Falver, “If this is the agreement, will one of you come with me to hunt some game?”
