The voice seemed to come from the goblin leader as none of the visible goblins said anything. So far all the goblins have all talked in goblin, however the leader addressed you in common.
In a quiet voice, Lothar speaks to his companions. "It looks like we have a standoff. They know we are here, and we know they are there. Maybe they don't know how many we are though. If they don't move, then it is time for action. Glen, are you going inside to try to draw them out, or do we need to go in and finish them off?" He waits to hear Glen's reply, but the others get the sense that Lothar is ready for a glorious fight.
Glen looks at the group “I don’t speak goblin, it would look bad if I didn’t speak” “but I’ll try anyways” glen moves forward and pokes his head into the den looking as if he was ashamed with his head down. He tries to make it look like he was the returning goblin that had left earlier (performance 19)
As Glen moves into the room he is able to see more of the interior, and the Goblin leader. The leader is standing at the top of the 10ft high escarpment, he is dragging a badly beaten human towards the edge. Glen recognizes the man as Sildar Hallwinter.
The other goblins visibly relax at the sight of who they believe to the their companion. The leader looks at Glen and speaks something in the gravely speech of the goblins, he is clearly asking Glen a question.

Glen will search his wide mass of knowledge for any idea for what the goblin just said (arcana? 24) (yesssss) if his search for knowledge comes up empty glen will point out into the hallway as if asking everyone to come out (only if my knowledge comes up empty)
also I want to take a quick look around to see how well the goblins are armed (perception 5)
Glen searches his knowledge of the arcane, and realises he remembers more of his early studies than he ever thought he would, unfortunately the goblin speech is completely mundane and Glen's vast magical knowledge is of no help in this situation. So he points towards the tunnel and gestures as if asking everyone to follow him. While he dose so he looks at each goblin and sees that the three on the lower level all have bows out and a scimitar on their belts, while the leader drags Sildar with his left hand and holds his scimitar in his right, he also has a shield hung on his back.
The leader looks at Glen angrily and barks something else in Goblin, this time he seems annoyed.

With no knowledge of what the goblin said glen will bow his head and and walk for a second then quickly run out of the den while also casting fire bolt behind him in a random direction (more towards the three goblins on the bottom)
(Attack: 19 Damage: 1) after launching his spell he’ll dive towards the hall not wanting to die.
Glen's attack catches the goblins by surprise, He launches a fire bolt at the two goblins on the north end of the room. Perhaps it was the fact that he had just searched his mind for all his knowledge of arcana or just pure luck but this fire bolt is the biggest most awe inspiring fire bolt he has ever cast, It soars through the room exploding directly between the two goblins engulfing them both in bright flames. The two unfortunate goblins scream as their flesh is instantly cooked off the bone, they then fall to heaps of smoldering bones on the floor where they stood. Dazzled by this display the remaining goblin archer and the goblin leader have no time to react as Glen makes his escape.
"You kill Klarg, big bugbear at other end of caves, Then I, Yeemik, will be leader of Cragmaw goblin's. You bring back Klarg's head, I give you human alive. Or I kill human then I kill you. What say you Wizard?"
You hear Sildar say in a strained voice, "Don't trust him...."
"Silence Human!" The goblin leader snaps, "Well Wizard? What you choose?"
"If we had healing magic that would be a sound plan." Tibern tells Lothar as he considers what to do in this situation. He had plann to use a sleep spell on the other weaker goblins but that was not an option at the moment.
Glenn looks at every one then yells out “on sec” turns back to everyone else “we have way more than they do it’s only two of them, I think if we just rush in and kill them fast we’ll be good and on our way” he waits to hear from everyone else. He also speaks back to the goblin “how do you know what I am, are you assuming my race?”
The goblin Replies, "Me no stupid, you look like Gleerk, but Gleerk no throw fire like a wizard. I don't care what race you are your not Gleerk, You are a wizard. You show up after we catch human, my guess you come for human, you no want him fine I will kill him and then I will kill you, but you want him alive you go kill Klarg."

Lothar
Listening to Glen, Lothar decides that it is time to move, and move fast. The prisoner may hold information on the whereabouts of the dwarf, so it is key to keep him alive. Also, with the knowledge that a bugbear is nearby, he doesn't want anything come up behind him. He says to the others, "All focus on the leader, now!" Lothar moves into the cave with his crossbow drawn, and takes aim at the leader.
Move: Since he only has 30ft movement, and doesn't want an AoO, he moves to the stairs within the one goblin's engagement and fires his crossbow at the Goblin leader.
Crossbow Attack on Goblin Leader: Attack: 20 Damage: 6
Tibern can only sigh in frustration as Lothar does this, only able to look to the others and shrug as he readies to fight this goblin. He can only hope that they can manage to save the man before he is killed.
(If the so allows it I would like for Tibern to step out and attempt to cast sleep on the goblin leader before he can kill the human. If not then that is my plan if I can go before the goblin does in the initiative order.)
Lothar's bolt misses by a wide margin. In response to the attack the Goblin leader throws Sildar over the escarpment and onto the hard stone below, then jumps behind the nearby stalagmite.
Sildar is motionless on the floor with a small pool of blood forming beneath him.
The goblin by the stairs looks terrified, but pulls out his scimitar and faces Lothar.
Roll Initiative!
Got a big weekend at my shop, so my posts will most likely be slowing down a bit and mostly on mobile, but I will try to keep things moving.
Everyone except Glen and Lothar roll a Dex check to see if you get a surprise attack since they don't know you are there. difficulty 10. if you succeed go ahead and take your surprise attack as you roll initiative.

Tibern is going to wait and see what happens as the rest of them deal with the goblin leader calling out to them in broken common.

You hear the goblin leader's voice again,
“Truce, or this human dies!”
He calls out.
"I will make you a deal for his life!"
Glen stands up in the hallway staying in goblin form yelling back in common “what’s the deal?!”
"You kill Klarg, big bugbear at other end of caves, Then I, Yeemik, will be leader of Cragmaw goblin's. You bring back Klarg's head, I give you human alive. Or I kill human then I kill you. What say you Wizard?"

Just so everyone remembers, Sildar is the human who went ahead to Phandalin with Gundren Rockseeker, the dwarf who hired you to transport the wagon.
Lothar
Lothar whispers, “Lets rush him. Heal the human on the way in and Bron and I will take him.”
