As you file into the room, you see it's 18'x12'. A good size for a private poker game or a very private party. In the middle of the room is a card table with a Kenku in scholars robes sitting in one of the chairs.
"Hello" he says in a very normal and cultured sounding voice "I am in need of someone to deliever an envelope" he tells you, indicating the envelope laying on the table. It has a red wax seal on it, it bulges at one end. Beside it a small sack.
"In no more than a week someone will be coming for it. You give it to them and they pay you. You DO NOT, under any circumstances look in the envelope. The suite has been rented for your use for the week. Use it as you like, as this" he says, indicating the sack "is 'expense' money to use as you please. Eat, drink, there seem to be many amusements here to keep you from getting bored"
He stops, looking at each one of you with those large black, unreadable eyes" There are others looking for it who will happily slit the throats of everyone here to get their hands on it. If they are sure that it is you who are holding it, them may whatever gods you pray to protect you, so for your own sakes, let no one know you have it and don't act suspeciously.
Imra raises his hand in response, "I'm still up for work.... um...... but the job is to just.... watch the letter? Also... are... are you paying for our rooms? Or are we bunking in here? Will the people picking up the letter pay us?"
Imra examines the letter and pokes at a corner of it, getting a sense of how heavy it is. (Investigation 12)
The young goliath asks a final question, "Who... who are we looking for? Any codewords?"

Raskin looks at you. He pauses a moment "Decide among yourselves if one will carry it or if you will pass it between you. If you're suspected, that could be a good strategy"
"The suite has been rented for your use for the week" he adds
"Someone will be coming for it. You give it to them and they pay you" he continues
"I will give you all necessary contact once we decide who is taking the job and the rest have left"
Douglas raises his hand, "I will accept this job." He replies ,"I have an idea of how to keep the letter safe and its location unknown but will wait until we have received all the instructions to present it for everyone to contribute." Douglas offers in his archaic words.
"Free room and board at the best tavern in Haven? Count me in Raskin, the letter ain't going nowhere!"

Soriah takes in all the proffered information and thinks to herself, Well obviously he's not telling us everything. Who is willing to kill for the contents of this letter and why? Why can't we look inside it? Whose voice is that Kenku borrowing? As averse as Theran is to violence, how will she react if she discovers we are guarding this sought-after treasure that is sure to invite mayhem within these walls?
Regardless, Soriah Ottosdottr is too invested now to back out, and plus she could use some friends here in Haven and this is as good a way as any to meet some new people. Facing danger together tends to help strangers form bonds. And it is about time she started to set up an information-gathering network to get a handle on the situation in Haven in case she ever has the chance to report back to her Harper masters.
She curtseys with a flourish to the kenku, and signals her acceptance of the offer.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Flint leans back against the wall, arms folded across his chest, and eyes Raskin and the group. “All of this to babysit a letter? What’s the catch, why don’t you just deliver it? How do we even know who to give it too?” He stares at the Kenku “But work is work, I’m in.”
He had taken weirder jobs before for sure. And something was off, why did the posting ask for so many strong and observant folks to deliver a letter?

Insight on Raskin’s response: 3.
"If you are not holding the letter, then your job is to protect the one who is. There are others looking for it who will happily slit the throats of everyone here to get their hands on it." he tells you "You are looking for a human who will be dressed in green and wearing a dark blue cloak. The pass phrase you will give is 'I wonder if the weather in Faerun is as nice as here'. They will respond 'It might be, though the Sword Coast can get sudden storms this time of year'. Take them someplace secluded and give them the envelope. You give it to them and they pay you. As for me, I must leave soon. If we are seen together then we are all in deadly danger. Talk to Theran, she will answer any questions you have about your accommodations"
There are quite a few Kenku in Haven, and you are all aware of the stories about them. After he gives the same exact response in a few places you all realize that the only part of 'Raskin' that is actually here is the voice (possibly not even that). The Kenku again indicates the envelope and the sack, then the door.
"Folks, it looks like we got some decidin' to do. As our gracious host is... less informative than I'd like, we need to settle some things first."
Whirling around, Dyumi points to the nearest person.
"First off, introductions. I can hardly be expected to protect you wit' my life if I dunno any of you, now can I?
He holds his wrinkled hand out to shake.
"Dyumi Eyrad, magician extraordinaire and druidic dabbler, pleased to meet you."

Imra wags the letter, holding it up to the light to see if he can get sense of what the wax seal is like, "Imra of the Misty Hills..... Why pay so much for a letter?"

"Quite a fun job you have here, miss."
"It has it's moments" she tell him
"Now, I've heard there's a man staying here by the name of Raskin, where might he be found?"
"Hullo. I'm, er, looking for Raskin? I think that was the name. Something about a job?"
She points at the group entering the back room "Raskin" she tell them

Asledin looks to each individual as they speak, then looks at the envelope. "Ok, I'm in.", he says.
Ula shrugs. They've definitely taken weirder jobs, for worse pay. This seems like a great deal.
"Sure, count me in, too."
As the party sounds out, Imra gives the kenku a close one-over, and tries to remember anything he can about the kenku.
