"I do, and the pass codes, but I would rather not say them out loud since one magical recording device was already found in the room and we have no protection against a scrying or clairaudience. Let us say the indication is what she will be wearing and what the weather is like.", Douglas reminds Flint with his clues.
Asledin points to Douglas and says, "You may be on to something there. This whole place seems to be having issues with planar magic, researching that could do some good. I need to head back down; breakfast is gettin' cold. There hasn't been any talk from the other group, at least nothing I have been involved in, so I am afraid I have little to offer about them. Imra may have something, though, so I'll get with him when possible." After speaking, Asledin will turn to head downstairs, pause to see the workers finishing the repairs so quickly, then head to the bar to finish what he started.
Flint leans back in his chair “Eh, let’s stay away from the cults. We already had one here that didn’t work out well”He thinks back to the masquerade ball and rubs his jaw at the memory of the boar tusks he once wore. “But we could use a research assistant, help us figure out who ants this thing and how we can keep it safe.” He looks over at Douglas “Do we even remember who we are supposed to give it to?”
"I'm in agreement with the Genasi" Oraq'yiz says "Starting a cult is too high profile. My superiors would find out and there would be so much pressure to recruit. I've been keeping a low profile and have been able to live my life doing something I enjoy"
Oraq'yiz considers for a moment and continues "There is a spell I can use to contact my higher-ups but I'm not sure if that's a good idea. If they ask around and someone down there is involved in this, it could compromise by ability to help. I could . . ." he says and stops to consider.
Then finally looks at Douglas "I understand it's not important to you, but my freedom means a great deal to me. I felt a year of service was a reasonable compensation. I suppose you were feeling altruistic when you turned down my offer. Still, I feel I am in your debt. How does this sound? I stay and help you with your current mission. When it is completed you can decide then if you want to continue my service for the remainder of the year. If not, we go our separate ways."

When you get downstairs you see Gashrak sitting beside the remains of your breakfast. When you get to the bar he says "Let's get a table. Something a little more private"
The two of you pick out a table. The Dragon is fairly empty now that the breakfast crowd is clearing out. When you've both settled in he says "Lilli senses the item again. It was just suddenly there. That's very good news for us. I noticed you were upstairs with your new friends. Do there have any idea where the item went? Were you able to find out what it actually is?"
When Imra shows up they invite him over and Gashrak fills him in on what's happening.
"Quite the contrary, Oraq'yiz. I have read extensively both what may be fact and what may be lies about your people, their laws and order, position and service. I am not being altruistic, both personal freedom of choice And the worth of position of service are of Great value to me! I don't know of many ideals I believe in more, except for perhaps knowledge.", Douglas quite emotionally explains to the Imp looking him in the eye from his seat at the table while holding his staff.
"I did not release your debt so simply because it is of no value to me, but because you are stuck thinking of it in the terms your people see it as, and still do. You sought to negotiate for one of the common contracts your people commonly form with mortals such as i, and used deception to position for advantage in those negotiations, as is common again.", Douglas recounts.
"I wanted you to look for something more, think about something more, ask for something more, try for something more. In all these common contracts here is nothing real to be gained for either of us, only a diminishing of what we already are independently. I don't need a servant. I don't need to master another. I don't need a familiar, or a contact to greater powers. Most of all having lived fourteen years under constant threat to my mind, body, and Soul in service to the same being who tricked you into that book; I never again need contractual temporary relationships for gain!",Douglas is visibly shaking as he moves through these statements and revelations, heated even as true character finally breaks out of a required mask held in place for over a decade of unemotional uncaring survival.
Calming a bit in returning to the present still looking the Imp in the eyes Douglas continues," The only relationship that is of value to me with you, Oraq'yiz, is True Friendship. It requires time, sacrifice, hurt, and effort. It is an eternal commitment that does not keep track of debts owed and paid, for the others gain is your gain and your gain theirs. And all you receive from it is the relationship, A Friend. So you may try it out in helping us with this mission. See if it is a prize you want and if you can pay its price, for we both know nothing comes without a price."

Asledin slaps his plate on the table and begins to plow through his meal, crumbs and bits quickly forming a ring around his plate. When Gashrak is finished speaking, Asledin will hurriedly swallow and reply, "They dunno where it went and they dunno what it is exactly, they weren't told. I believe it is wrapped in burlap, and it is about the size of a small vase.". Asledin forks up a pile of potatoes and shoves it in his mouth, only losing about 5 percent of it this time. He shrugs and looks back at Gashrak, "All I got so far.", he says around the potatoes, "You gotta plan?".

Oraq'yiz looks sadly at Douglas "To be free. It would be so wonderful. Sadly, that's not the life available to me. My existence of one of contracts, obligation and hierarchy. Friendship is neither mine to give or receive. The thing is, like all Devils I'm evil, just not very much" he says with a shrug" I know the Blood Wars needs recruits but often I wonder if the fighting is what sustains the fighting, but such things are out of hands. Mostly I enjoy combing through libraries and pouring over dusty old books and learning new things. If it was a concern, the contract I had in mind only obligated me. Your contribution, freeing me, you had already done. It was never the intent to trap you, although that is par for the course for my kind. I've found a certain amount of the right paperwork keeps my superiors off my back so I can lead the live I want. I should go then. Thank you again for freeing me. I will abide by my oath"
He goes to the door then stops. He shape shifts into a Gnome and leaves
"Thank you, my friend. If you get into a bind and need help, send for me.", Douglas thanks the Imp for his effort to be a friend on his way out the door.
Flint watches the gnome leave the room with a curious expression “Well that was touching, but we could have used his help to figure out what was going on around here, and who is after this thing. Too bad.” He looks over at Douglas “What next? Sit back and wait for more fireworks, or should we take the fight down to that group downstairs. Find out what they know?”

Unfortunately, Asledin and Imra have a plan there, that we don't know all the details of. We should let them run with it until they signal or the group moves to directly confront us.", Douglas will answer.
"From what Ula has told me about last night and from what Asledin said about the groups ability to sense it being foiled for a time, I believe that the item was masked when it was taken into a familiar pocket with a familiar. That's handy for us is we can get a hold of a spatial item to put it in. Oraq'yiz said it is an Elysium item, though it takes physical characteristics in our plane, that makes it mostly a spiritual item. Like Oraq'yiz. It may be possible to use a version of the spell that trapped Oraq'yiz in the book to put the item in the book. "
"Hiding its still our best option for now, I will look into the spell. You all look for a physical place to hide it... Not the pipe access in the bathing room."
Douglas will begin work on using the spell that trapped Oraq'yiz to trap the item.

Douglas gets a sense of how the spell works but is over his head. Maybe with some time and help but there is so much of it he doesn't understand,
Asledin nods and finishes the few bites he has left on his plate. "Anything I can do?", he asks. "I need to get out of here for a little while, feelin' cooped up."
"Ula, Imri, Flint, Do any of you know someone who knows a Familiar summoning spell? Conversely do any of you know anything about planar or spatial magic or know where such knowledge can be found here?", Douglas asks the others.
Flint squints his eyes in thought at the question. He was no expert in Haven, but he has been around town for a little bit. “Most of the magic is in the Scholars section of town. Cassandra would be your best bet on understanding Haven and the planar stuff. Not sure about the familiar though.”Flint stands and stretches “I am tired of sitting and waiting, will head down and see what the others downstairs are up to. Keep an eye on that”Flint gestures to the letter then heads downstairs. He finds a table in the corner, orders a Dwarven stout, and watches the others, looking for the group Asledin told them about.
Douglas walks out onto the stairs over the newly repaired floor. He looks around the bar.

(Asledin is tearing through breakfast, trying to get an assignment from Gashrak, however, once he sees the people that have made it into the tavern, he will not push on that anymore.)
Asledin gets the impression that Gashrak has nothing else to say. Once his plate is clean, surface of the table being exempt, Asledin will scoop up his plate and hardware and head for the bar to return it. As he is walking to the bar, Asledin notices a much larger number of people in the tavern. At the bar, Asledin will set down his plate and ask the bartender for water. At this point, Asledin will survey his surroundings.

and your hosts Theran and Zizza Amakiir
The Clock Tower chimes 11
Usually after the breakfast crowd, the Dragon starts to empty out but today there are quite a few here for an early lunch
At one of the smaller tables Lilli (female Gnome) and River (female Tiefling) are Talking
At another Gashrak and Arden (Drow Elf) finishing breakfast
Arden Ross (aka breastplate) and his friends (human, 3 male, 1 female) are ordering lunch at one of the long tables
At the small table near the base of the stairs to the Suite is a Kenku wearing workmen's clothing, drinking tea
At another long table are 5 mysterious hooded figures of different sizes
At another small table is a woman, tall, blond, wearing chainmail and wearing a dark blue cape. She carries a long spear, almost a lance
Theran is behind the bar and Zizza is at her table with Trina
Flint is at the bar with his Dwarven stout. Where is everyone else?
