(OOC: What is the door made of, and if I recall, we went in one entrance, out another (near the glass roof?) Sparhawk assesses if there is a mechanism to open the door and if they could potentially break it down.
“We are a long way from there and I trust that we have learned from our mistakes. I just wanted to know that my memory was accurate. And to answer your other question, I think we just pushed it open.”
Frangipani was uncomfortable.....a sensation she was becoming familiar with despite her best efforts......this felt like that time she had crept into mothers chambers through the underways and had seen her weeping. She had never breathed a word of it, it would have marked her for death in an instant.....to even think Mother was capable of such a thing was...blasphemy...
Her eyes slid to Lir....she had considered him a kindred...a fellow child of the waters....but now he was tainted....befouled....she no longer wanted to eat him.....even when he died.
" We should not be here and yet we are. Someone burn or break the door down. Now please.", there was a slight edge in her voice one that hadn't been there since the god-thing had burnt her mind....she wanted to throw herself into the jungle and let it devour her and her devour it.....to slide down its rivers and streams and swim its coasts and feel joy again. But the stone beckoned, gold beckoned, promises and contracts and things not made of succulent flesh and juice.
She was perturbed.....soon she would be sad....and then...like some distant whisper in the darkest depths.....she would Hate.
Frangipani remembers the dead apes.........birds that can use doors........or are they birds....that huge thing that attacked them had bird-like feet.......perhaps these were smaller versions....
Frangipani examined to edges and base of the door....would a snake or small amphibian or mammal be able to squeeze under?
Examining the base of the door you don’t see a gap big enough for anything other than maybe small bugs to get under, but your eye does catch the fact the claws on the TRex carvings next to the door seem like they might possibly serve as levers of some sort.
"Right, three levers on each side and no idea how many need to be pressed at once. This will take a long time to brute force..." Bjorn starts Prestidigitating a chart onto the floor.
[The levers are on opposite sides, so two people need to pull them? And this was dedicated to a couple, whose images are portrayed in the hall? Maybe there's a clue there?]
Eberk takes a seat near Bjorn and ritually casts Detect Magic. He will keep it up, checking out the fresco primarily and the levers/door if there is enough of the ten minutes to cover both. “Did we discover any writing when we were here before? That may be helpful.”
Perception: 7 (26 if someone wants to help for advantage.)
Sparhawk helps the cleric out with searching. “Yes, Bjorn was able to translate all of the jars in this area, including the jars and some of this mural"
(Recap:
Bjorn reads the fresco inscriptions.
This garden is dedicated to Zalkoré, queen of Omu and jewel of Chult.”
“Worshiped by her people and by Thiru-taya, who
crossed-out: loves BETRAYED her.” (The word “loves” has been chipped away, and the word “BETRAYED” is scratched into the frescoes above it.)
“In this, the tenth year of her reign, may she govern forever in splendor.”
“And may the gods themselves marvel at this humble reflection of her beauty.”
“As you noticed Frangipani, the place has changed. And the door is shut.”

You both make it through without inhaling the pollen,
The door seems to be carved from a single piece of wood instead of being built. The wood seems fairly dense
“Hum, anyone see a way to open it?” Sparhawk will try a gentle push and pull (unless a door nob) Strength check 10
”after Abernathys, I try to not lock us out Eberk.”

" Wood burns."

But not yet.....no, not yet.
The door opens easily with a creak.
The familiar corridor opens before you, but much more well light with the sun cascading through the waters over the glass ceiling.
“Alright, let’s carefully take another look at that wall and see if we can figure out how to open that door.”
(ooc: we explain to Zaal the inside wall/ door but a recap would help, with the teeth levers)
The paladin, intent on completing their mission back in focus as the door opens.
( here is the map again, you entered from the bottom access)
on the stairs leading down you see some large muddy/bloody bird prints that disappear once into the main corridor
Frangipani remembers the dead apes.........birds that can use doors........or are they birds....that huge thing that attacked them had bird-like feet.......perhaps these were smaller versions....
Here are some of your previous findings

“Yes, I feel there could be a clue on the fresco or what was said, or something else hidden here."
(Sparhawk assesses if the door could be broken in, or even the area around the doorway. )
(Can we do some aided perception checks of the fresco and area to see if we discover anything else hidden or as yet undiscovered?)
( of course. Roll for each segment of the wall you wish to investigate. Breaking the door would require strong methods…ie explosives or similar)
