"You honor me with your generosity and skill," Gorm says to Finwion. "I am already on a journey to earn these swords in the eyes of my tribe, your craftsmanship will surely make the journey easier... But also more important. Thank you."
She listens to the story and history of the flight of the dragons with as much solemn attention as possible but history and learning were never her true gifts. Still, she believes she understands the basics of it. "Is there no possible way to stop the Red Star?" she asks though. "To turn it back? Delay it? Change its path? Surely the wise ones knew it was returning and were looking for a solution?"
Dr A bows and thanks his hosts for both their generous gifts and sharing of information. He waits to see what answers they give to Gorm before deciding what if any further information he will seek.
“There is no clear answer to that.” Replies the King to Gorm. “Some say that now it is a celestial body and follows its own way across the stars, others that being so mystical in nature behaves like the Wave and it comes closer periodically, others theorize that the energy comes back because it wants to returns to the dragons and if it does a new era of despair and tyranny will arise. Probably all of them could have some part of the truth…”
”Is there a way the influence can be lessened, perhaps allowing the metallic dragons to resist its call and the chromatic ones to be less inclined to war?” asks Logan.

Dr. A knowledge of the arcane nature confirms that, to contain such a tremendous power, they should have bind it to a physical object. Simple rock will not do it but something more rare could be a perfect conduit... Silver and gold are precious materials that are used in the crafting of magical objects, the same as rare jewels and gems. He ponders for a few seconds and their recent adventure comes to his mind as a revelation. Mithril. That rare and precious metal is a perfect vessel to that kind of raw, primordial power. But the amount needed to do that... he cannot make the exact calculations, because he didn't know how much magical power they contained but... for the estimations that all their research had produced it should have, at minimum, the size of a city... and that checks with the ability to see it with the naked eye in the sky when it comes closer to the world. Ahh the wonders of the old world never cease to amaze him. But the thing is that, probably, it is a combination of all the things that the King mentioned. All that energy concentrated in, which now is, a celestial body, crossing the stars and the energy pulling it to return to its place... He had to check his note while the others talk. If the fluctuations of the Wave influence the comet's trajectory.... making it coming closer.... muttering he asks for his satchel, where he keeps his notes.
Meanwhile Finwion replies to Logan
"There are, indeed, some objects that partially block the influence of the Comet in some dragons, but in the end, it is the will of the dragons that make them resist it. "he waits a few seconds before adding "Some of our allies, when they feel the pulling of it, travel to another plane to avoid it and only return when it has passed..."
As the others keep talking, Dr. A. receives his notes and he starts to compare their notes on the Comet with other notes that he took on his own researches of time ago. The dates matches. He cannot tell for sure if the Wave fluctuations is what make the comet come closer, or if the Wave fluctuations are greater when the comet comes closer. But one thing is sure, they are related. It makes sense... if it was created by a powerful mithral, and it contains so much power... the very essence, or souls, of the ancient dragon overlords... but that means... that means that, with the correct magical ritual, one could....
Waiting for the elven king to think, Logan keeps a polite but keen interest on his face. As the silence draws onward, he says, “I would aid you in this ritual, if it means the dragons with goodwill could remain on this plane and help us fight the rise of the evil dragons.”

Dr A makes a series of notations and scribbles all the while thinking to him himself "abut I need to get to Candlekeep to consult with the arcanists there!"
“You are indeed brave young knight. But the influence is so powerful that if they engage in combat, theie own feelings will turn against them, and perhaps they could not stop once the first threat has passed. Only once, one dragon was able to withstand the urge and fight against another. And it was only because her will was strong, she has the aid of a magical artifact, and had one of the most powerful magics on her side… love.”
“To Candelkeep?” Says Thandril who has been quiet most of the dinner “I thought you said you didn’t need to go there anymore. Perhaps we could help?”
Unaware that he had inadvertently spoken aloud, Dr A is surprised by Thandril's question "... abut um what I was thinking about is how to determine if it is fluctuations in the Wave which draws the comet closer or if it is comet's presence that impacts on the Wave's amplitude and possibly it's length. While that is in may ways a moot question and one for the more theoretically minded of my colleagues it does raise the issue of how to correct what is an obvious imbalance in the Wave and who has the capacity to help us develop a response. If your loremasters know more of this or could direct me in the appropriate direction. I would be most grateful!"
"What exactly is mithril?" Gorm asks, the word sounding familiar but still ignorant of it's properties. Resources were sparse in her desert home, rare resources even rarer. "And where could we find enough to fill a city with it?"
Much of the conversation goes on around her, her head dizzy from trying to understand it all. She instead focuses more on the food and such and allows much of the details of the talk to flow past her, trusting that Dr. A or Logan will catch her up with any information she needs. Mostly they just need to point at what needs killing, or so she'd prefer.
"Waves?" she asks, as this word speaks to her. "Like in large bodies of water?" As a desert warrior she had seldom seen bodies of water large enough to really have waves but the few times she had she was fascinated...
When the time comes to drink of the Fountain of Sheanine, Gorm is hesitant. "And this will stop the curse? Or infection? Or whatever?" she asks. "Are there other... effects from it?" But while a bit reluctant she does drink. Likely not as deeply as Logan but she does sip at it enough so that those who led them to it are satisfied.
Thanking them again, Logan drinks of the fountain and feels the magic working inside him. What it does, he is uncertain, but he hopes any infection from his fight will be purged.
He also asks if he might be allowed to purchase some elven items for their continued journey, eager to see what beautiful and functional items the elven craftsmen can produce.

"Mithril is the metal we found in that mines " reply Thandril to Gorm "And the one I used to forge your weapons... It is extremely rare and highly appreciated by its qualities. "
"Now the Wave " he explains to Gorm "Even if I am sure that Dr. A is more able to explain it to you than me.. is how the flow of magic in the world is called. Magic users are able to slightly manipulate it, modifying it in small amounts to create different effects and change the world around them. "as he talks he moves his hands and between them appearas a wave of silvery light that flows up and down. Then the figue of a small wizards appears, with his pointy hat and all, and starts to cast a spell and the weave reacts to it, a small tendril of energy flowing towards the little wizard who seems to manipulate it and create a spray of little butterflies that go up flying over them. "As I am doing right now... It is essential to the life in our world, and of course to the use of magic."
"I think "continues his father "That we should move. Let's go first to the Fountain, then we address the other issues"
With that they stand up and guide them away from the table when they had been dinning and deeper into the forest, following a trail lit by small lanterns hanging from the trees that gives them the impression to walk below a starry night. It's not long after they enter another clear in the woods with the real night sky upon their heads. The east side of the clear is actually the side of a hill, that still climbs out in the distance, but it is covered in trees too. From a crevise on the rocks a spring of clear water falls down as a small cascade from about ten feet high. Carved upon the white rock of the hillside there are four statues depicting the Sheanine, or the Gods of the elves. The statues are almost as high as the spring reaching about nine feet each. They are beautiful carved, they are not really able to see the marks of the chisel, and their tunics seems to flow over their bodies, so smooth and great is the art work. Below the fall there is a pedestal that instead of sculpted it seems to have been growth from the rock, raising in spiral to form a basin where to collect the water from fall, that falls also around it, before it can continue its natural flow, returning to a small stream that born in this place.
Laurefindil walks to it and motion them to follow. A maiden approaches as well carrying a silvery plate with cups made of cristal and silver and the queen fills a silver ewer and filles the cups with the water.
"Drink"she instructs, and taking the cups they all, including Thandril, drink the water.
As they clear, cold water fell down their throats towards their stomachs they all feel rejuvenated. The small tiredness that had come over them by the long hours talking dissapears and they feel themselves clean and fresh, not only in body but in spirit. The weight that they all had been carrying around with their discoveries seems to lighten and, when the feel of urgency hasn't disappear, for they are really aware that they are in a tight deadline, they feel more confident that they will be able to accomplish what is necessary to stop the plans of the Dragon Cult. Gorm feels a warmth in her belly that comes up to her chest. Is not discomfortable and it quickly disappears, but she cannot help but emit a low growl while this heat fills her for just a second. But whatever it was, she feels fine now.
"Excuse me," Gorm says with a slightly embarrassed smile to the others as if it had been a loud burp and not a growl. She fills... different once it's out and done. It is hard to describe but perhaps best put as more herself. Though not having felt like she changed it is a subtle yet relevant change...
"Thank you," she says to Laurefindil. "I think perhaps I needed that more than I realized."
”Yes, thank you—I feel revitalized! I am too awake to go to sleep now. We should make plans for where to go next, learning what we have,” says Logan excitedly.
