Before waltzing right up to the chest, Akyan investigates the area again to make sure he doesn't walk into another trap. Once satisfied, kneels down next to the chest and examines it for traps before pulling out his lockpicks. He does check to see if it's actually locked before wasting time trying to unlock and already unlocked box.

Akyan detects no more traps in the room or on the exterior of the chest. It does not appear to be locked, only a simple hasp keeps the lid down.
Jhaartael looks up slowly to Tamryn and Lyndaran, "Hmmm... We are going forward then? A distraction won't keep the guards away forever. Get some rope ready." he whispers.
((Cast at 3rd level for a total of 34 slumber points))
(Ok this is a bit tricky. Jhaartael wasn't explicitly trying to be stealthy, and at least one of the guards was watching each door. However, I'm going to treat it as if Jhaartael were previously hidden, so he does get to act before the guards. Afterwards, though, Tamryn, Lyndaran and Jhaartael should roll initiative.)
Jhaartael kicks the door open, and utters the slumber-inducing incantation. One of the guards immediately slumps back in his chair and begins snoring. And then, he begins choking, gasping for air, as if an invisible hand were clutched round his neck. The high elf frowns and closes his eyes, concentrating again, and the guard's breathing resumes, in a normal sleeping pattern.
Caught by surprsie by Jhaartael action, Lyndaran is a little bit too slow on react and he fires an arrow to the nearest guard when almost everyone has reacted to the spell.
"They haven't found anything notable." He replies to Kyrsa.
Still wary of traps, Akyan flips the lid open and prepares to jump back if doing so sets anything off. (Though he makes sure not to jump back down the hole. lol)

As Akyan warily opens the chest, he barely dodges back in time to avoid the fountain of pink glitter that erupts from inside. Breezy's cheerful voice comes from the autognome, repeating, "Tsk Tsk! This is no time to be seeking treasure! The clock is ticking! Tsk Tsk!"
Akyan growls as he turns back to the two women. Of course it was pointless. What a waste of time. To make it worse, he really wasn't looking for treasure, so the gnome/Breezy's remark really rubbed him the wrong way. Especially since she was right about the clock part. Why had he even thought there would be anything useful in that chest? Whatever, no point in stressing it now. Shooting the metal gnome thing a glare, the brushes off some stray glitter particles that had made their way onto his dark cloths even though he had avoided being completely covered. "Let's go. That was pointless." He growls and makes his way over to the door.
Mina shrugs, "I don't know about pointless. It could have held important information or a key to help us along." She giggles, a sound neither Kyrsa or Akyan have heard, "Pink is definitely your color." and she follows him to the door, notching another arrow to be ready.
"Yes, for all we know there could have been something important in there. Though perhaps you are right, we are here for an exfiltration. And in hindsight I should have thought about how silly it would be to stash a key in such an... obvious place...well obvious for us and likely inconvenient for them." She shrugs, chuckling a little at Mina's remark and flashing her a rare smile, "It does brighten you up a bit."
"Whatever." Akyan replies, purposefully ignoring the teasing remarks made by both women. Gah! Was this really the time for making comments like that? Sure it is just training but still. Pink? His color? It brightens him up a bit? Really? Why would he want to be 'brightened up' his job literally requires him to be stealthy. An image of himself wearing one of Percy's ridiculous outfits with various pink tones flashes through his head. He mentally grimaces. Absolutely not. Pink is way to flashy, and he wouldn't be caught dead in one of those suits. He grits his teeth as he grasps the door handle and has to stop himself from flinging it open. Blasted women! Why did they have to put that image in his head?! He already feels like a fool for stepping into that floor trap, and then proceeding to open a pointless box. He better not make a bigger fool of himself just because his comrades are teasing him. Calming himself, he slowly opens the door a crack and peaks through. He already wasted enough time with the box, listening on doors rather that just pushing through as stealthily as possible would just let the time slip by faster.
Perception: 6 (And that was a critical fail. Lol.)
