Sagin is very pleased with the compliments, reassuring his clientele that he'll return to the Laughing Goblin to learn other recipes from Mar.
"A tough question," Harper tells Utar. "The regent at the helm of House Brokengulf will certainly have inherited his late master's goals, but if you are thinking about someone with noble blood and more political capital to throw around, may I suggest the co-sponsor of the venture into the Quivering Forest? Lady Dala Silmerhelve prefers to work in the background, as far as I know, but she would certainly be a tremendous ally for us to have."
Harper places the tip of an index finger on his nose before replying to Obsben's question: "Didn't you describe the rituals performed by the Lord Sage and his underling as being...'fueled by many spell scrolls'? I am sure they wouldn't mind selling a couple of their scrolls to the saviors of their stolen tomes."
"I'll leave you all with those two suggestions. It is getting late and I am sure you have busy days ahead." Harper looks at Graxx and gestures towards the barbarian: "See... his mind is already elsewhere, likely thinking about what may come next."
Agreeing with the half-elf, Neya ends the conversation with a warning about overthinking and over-worrying. As Harper leaves and the CRAPers begin to find their abodes, Obsben comes up behind Sagin and plants a kiss on his cheek. The kobold chef-in-training short-circuits for a good moment, before looking straight at the halfling's eyes and saying: "No one ever did that to Sagin. It feel nice."
(OOC#1: We have reached the end of Episode 10. Go ahead and add 11,500 XP to each of your character's sheets. Details can be found in the OOC Chat. Thanks everyone for another great episode.)
(OOC#2: Feel free to wrap up any last bit of RP you'd like. I'll close out this thread in the next couple of days after one or two last bookkeeping posts. I'll reach out to you soon regarding downtime activities in the OOC Chat.)
"All in all, this was a pretty straightforward job. No lost allies, no jobs left unfinished and no gnawing doubt that we could have handled things better. Phlan is a little safer, and the Cult is without a potnetial ally and hopefully, we might have found ourselves one in the Lord Sage. We've our work cut out for us, make no mistake, but right now, the only thing we need to do is the dishes."
Utar starts to gather the remnants of the meal together and carries them into the kitchen to begin soaking before returning to enjoy a little more downtime with his friends.
"We can see to those later, but now that they're out of the way, we should at least try to celebrate our victories where we can. I think we might have something left over from all those meals we had the Laughing Goblin cater..."
Utar helped get the dinner started and is now helping clear up the table. Harper is gone, but before anyone else can leave the dinner table, Utar is sure to bring some left-over beer to serve as digestifs for the adventurers as they wrap up their conversations into the night. Truly a perfect way to conclude this adventure.
This is our usual end-of-episode bookkeeping post. It's been a little while but it should look familiar. In this post, we'll note all the XP gained during the episode so that we all have a handy one-stop-shop in this thread to verify your XP gains. It also helps all of us ensure that we are on the same page. More details on the exact XP gained can be found in the OOC chat, and are summarized in the box below.
ACT I - Studies interrupted.............................................................4,300 XP per character ACT II - The Temple of the Scale.......................................................11,500 XP per character
TOTAL XP earned by the party...........................................................15,800 XP per character
Just to confirm, you should each have somewhere between 75,800 and 76,340 XP as of the end of this episode.
Here are some last reminders before I close out this thread:
Now that the episode is concluding, you all have a good opportunity to engage in any dividing/sharing/bargaining/requesting/trading of your spoils of war as you see fit, if so desired. Please do so in the OOC Chat.
I will soon initiate the conversation on downtime activities with each of you separately in the form of bilateral chats. We will focus on them over the next few days.
You should feel free to go shopping for any mundane items during downtime without the need for RPing. I'll reiterate that this only applies to more mundane items, which can be sold for 50% value (rounded down) or bought for the price listed in the PHB. Potions of healing of the common variety fall under this mundane category as well. If you plan to purchase several of the same item, you may run into supply shortages as stores' inventories are not infinite. Just let me know what you plan to buy and we can go from there.
You can assume that there are enough financiers in town for you to exchange your coins/gems/art pieces/treasure as you see fit. You obviously have to keep the same overall value in your wallet, but feel free to exchange all those pesky copper pieces for silver, cumbersome electrum pieces for gold, opals and sculptures for coins, etc. The only exception here is platinum. Those coins are not readily available for exchanging.
With that, I'm closing the curtains on this episode. I have some prep to do but we shouldn't have to wait too long before we are able to start our next episode. I'll keep you guys updated.
It was a pleasure running this game for you guys, as always.
