The boyish fairy with slightly pointed ears turns slightly from the blue fairy to address the Kokiri who addressed him. "Sir, I am Quiggley. I know who I am. I just do not remember large parts of my life, thus I do not remember many who have known me. I am male. Male fairies rarely take companions of other races, but it has happened. I have no companion and have traveled alone for many years. If you or,.. Lizi(?), remember me I would be pleased to know."
Quigley speaks in a languid rich tenor the light from the crystal hanging at his chest sometimes brightening towards white other times dulling towards a bluish grey as he speaks. Up close you can see a vertical scar over his left eye from forehead to chin. Your amazed the eye wasn't damaged but seems to be in perfect condition. A filigree of fine silver thread like lines covers the fairies white skin in scrolling interconnected diamond or bark pattern, of course it might also be a form of writing or a tattoo design.
The Woman gives you a look that reads 'Really?' after your attempt to haggle her down. With a Polite smile she closes the book and sets the quill down beside it. Cupping her hands together she smiles. "Im sorry sir but this establishment has set prices that will not be altered for the sake of one person, The Proprietor is attempting to run a buisness. They cannot do so and bend their rates to fit your.....lower income." She noticably examined both you and the people you walked in with for the last part of her sentence.
Paca and Quiggley,
Lizi buzzes around you Paca, the small fairy was showing concern for this individual as well. It is strange to see a fairy without a companion, especially outside of the Woods. "I dont recognize him Paca but theres no doubt he is from the Lost Woods" Your companion exclaims, Obviously curious as to the circumstance that has caused this fairy to venture out of the Woods unaccompanied but also a little wary. Setting onto your shoulder, She whispers into your ear. "Paca, He has seen something extraordinary and had a hand in it. Fairies only grow to that size when completeing heroic deeds!"

"Quiggley, sorry for being so upfront but it is quite startling for me to see a fairy, and especially one of your size, outside of home."
Paca pauses for a moment and organizes his thoughts with what Lizi has just told him. "Let me introduce myself. I am Paca and this is my fairy companion Lizi. She says to become a large fairy like yourself, you must have done something very heroic at some point. If you care to join me and my friends, we can try and help you figure something out about your past. What do you say?"
"I'm staying here for the next few days during the celebration. I would be pleased to join you and your friends, though I doubt I ever did anything heroic." Quiggley replies waiting to follow the two where they lead.
Theo sighs at the fact of the woman calling him and his friends ‘lower income’. So, this is how it’s going to be, he thinks.
Taking a glove off of his left hand, Theo admires a piece of jewelry on his ring finger. “Lovely, isn’t it?” he says to the woman, showing only to her the ring. On top the ring is a symbol: a sky blue shield with a white stripe down the center, and in the middle of the shield is a blue bird, wings spread. Nonchalantly Theo remarks, “I never liked the bird. It always seemed stupid to me. I would have chosen a wolf or a bear, but that’s not my choice is it?” He puts the glove back on, looking into the eyes of the woman to make sure she got the point.
Whispering, Theo says, “I’m sure that I didn’t hear what you clearly just said. I know that you didn’t just insult my companions. And I’m certain that people wouldn’t like to hear what was not said just now. Who cares if rumors are true?” He turns back curtly, starting to walk back to the group.
Praxius' gaze alternates between Theo in what appears to be a conspiratorial conversation with the lady behind the counter, and Paca who is talking to a rather large unfamiliar Fairy. Rae seems to be lost in consideration of the picture they passed earlier.
"Well, I got a table in the common room when you are all done", he says in a surly tone, loud enough for them all to hear.
He then wanders back over to the table and refills his metal mug from the jug, which is emptying quite fast even though he is the only one drinking.
"OK then Quiggley, follow me, it seems my friends have a table just over this way." Paca gestures for Quiggley to follow and approaches the table where Praxius is sitting.
"Praxius, this is Quiggley. If you can't tell, he is a fairy. I have offered to help him, you see he seems to have forgotten many things...errr.. well I am sure he can explain it better."
Praxius gives Quiggley an appraising stare which lasts just long enough to verge on being uncomfortable, then gingerly meets the Fairy's hand before shaking it firmly.
"Yes, likewise. Help yourself", he says gesturing to the metal mugs and the jug.
"Barkeep! We'll need another mug over here", he calls out to the barkeep.
Paca looks at the jug and gives it a sniff. His eyes widen with worry but also eagerness. "Praxius...is this... alcohol? I've never had it before. Can I try?"
Paca reaches for a mug and fills it and gives a sip. "Ughh, what a taste... you like that? I don't see what the big deal is here" After a few moments he feels his muscles loosen and a calm feeling wash over him. "Oh I see... so it's not about the taste so much as the.... nice feeling.."
"Ha! Hardly they've been gone since I can remember. My first drink was after that." Quiggley replies while using both hands to lift the mug for a drink. Not putting the rim to his lips as most would but tipping the mug so he can stick his head into it without getting soaked. Everyone hears a short slurping noise.
Theo slides up into a chair without a word, taking a mug of ale and beginning to drain it. The liquid burns his throat, but he doesn't mind. Memories come back to him, ones he didn't want to remember. Noticing the fairy, Theo looks up from his drink. "Why hello there. I'm Theo.”
Turning to the group, Theo tells them, "They have 3 rooms available, at a purple rupee (5 gold) per room, with food added at an extra red rupee (2 gold). The woman doesn’t want to haggle, and I’m pretty sure our group wouldn’t fit in 2 rooms, unless me, Paca, and the fairy, sorry, fairies, take one while Praxius and Rae take the other. Are you all fine with that?”
After taking another slurp Quiggley looks up. "Hello, Theo. It is a pleasure to meet you. I'm Quiggley."
After hearing about their accommodation problems and plans Quigley will add, "It is the Centennial celebration. I would be surprised if there is any rooms, public or private, left available in the city. Many people will probably try to sleep in common in the tavern common rooms over the next few days. Many of them will find their accommodation s have become a common cell on waking. Others will try to catch a few winks on the streets waking in the same condition or a little lighter than they laid down."
"No, if I was you I would take the rooms available here. They wouldn't be available at all if some more conservative sorts hadn't of caught on to the nature of the side business here. Like as not they'll be gone in the next hour or two, but you don't need to worry about my own accommodations. I have a room for the next several days." He adds with a wink.
"In fact, I could probably offer to share with Paca and Lizi. Seeing as I don't need the whole bed as I sleep quite comfortably on just one of the pillows, if you are concerned about your resources. I would need to insist that Paca make use of the bath and perhaps pay for some laundry service." Quiggley will mention with a sniff and a look at the groups feet and slacks.
"The walk through the gate and the farm district isn't kind for those who can not or decide not to ride or fly. In truth, if your only looking to feel you are getting a fairer exchange for your rupee, you should try asking the manager to throw in a free bath and laundry service with the room. I doubt she would turn you down." Quiggley takes a breather to take another slurp.
"After all it will mean less cleanup for the staff." The fairy looks at the muck prints clearly identifying everywhere the group has wandered in the inn.
Praxius follows Quiggley's line of sight and sees the mess, not really seeing much wrong with it. Maybe he had lived in the wild too long. The idea of a bath though, appealed a lot, having not bathed in anything other than cold streams and rivers during his exile.
"A bath sounds...appealing", he says simply.
He then takes the ox skull off his head and looks it over. "Maybe my clothes could do with a clean as well, if we are to meet with this knight", he adds with a chuckle.
He looks into his coin pouch. "Very well Quiggley, I think you are wise and we should follow your direction. Although, maybe I should not be the one to talk to the lady. Paca, you have a way with people, maybe you could?"
Paca stands after finishing his mug and says to everyone in a very confident manner that he has not had before, probably the liquid confidence coursing through him at this point. "Yes, I will convince the lady!" Paca steps up to the lady offering the room and says, "Hello, I would like to rent one of the three rooms you have, however, my friends and I are also in need of laundry and bathing services as we have been on the road without those services for awhile. It may save your staff some time cleaning the room if we were to be clean before sleeping in it. The smell we have on us may seep into the walls and linger for several days beyond our stay. I will give you the purple rupee for the room if you are also able to provide the bathing and laundry service for us."
“We helped a Knight fight a couple of Bokobins outside of the city,” Theo says. “They told us to meet them before the festival, but not where. I think that there would be barracks in the city for the Knights, but I don’t know if we’d be allowed in them. We could ask someone to send for them.”
The young lady at the desk slams her book closed at your arrival Paca, she seems irritated. "Ye-" You accidentially cut her off which does not improve her mood but she listens to you and eventually opens the ledger, flicking to a relatively new page with only a few initials printed in its columns.
"So you want one room? A single tub of hot water can be added for an additional two greens, However we do not launder the clothes of our customers. She points with the tip of her quill to a room up the stairs with a brass placard on its door that reads. "Laundry"
"We do offer private baths but......Im afraid thats with our deluxe package, which costs Two silver Rupees" She puts her Quill to a blank column. "And what should I put down as your mark?"
The boyish fairy with slightly pointed ears turns slightly from the blue fairy to address the Kokiri who addressed him. "Sir, I am Quiggley. I know who I am.
