While looking around Kor notices the unconscious goblin Mav took care of laid out in the cart unsecured. "Can't have you waking up and getting any ideas about these explosives, can we?" He says quietly to the still form. Kor reaches over to his pack secured to the side of the wagon and removes his hempen rope. Cutting an appropriate amount off with a dagger, he binds the goblin's hands and feet.
Looking up from his work, he notices Mav coming back and laughs saying, "I make it a point to stay away from dead things in general, so hopefully our employer is still alive."
If we're measuring feet on the rope, since the book specifies the whole rope is 50 ft., I'd saw it took Kor 5 ft. of rope to bind the goblin.
Damn, my irrelevant roles were saving throws for this buddy to wake up and enact that very situation.
Before you tied up our little potential bomber, Kor tried looking for any possible indications of where the goblins came from or went to, but you’re sudden realization of the prisoner not being secured interrupted you before you could make any progress.
"Speaking of our illustrious patron, can someone with a bit of survival skills check around for some tracks? Maybe we can figure out where he went off to. I'd like to find him and have a word or two about appropriate disclosure when it comes to transporting bombs through dangerous territory." Kor said to the group.
Finding out he's been sitting on a giant bomb for hours makes Kor more than a little cautious, lol.
I'm assuming I can't make another survival check for something I already checked for? Or is it different since I was interrupted? In case it is, here's Survival: 10. If that's not the case, just ignore this.
“I’ll take a look around. Those goblins did a number on me though, give me just a second…” Valathar looks down at the arrow lodged in his arm. It’s almost all the way through, and didn’t seem to his any bone or major muscles. Gritting his teeth, he snaps the back end of the shaft off, and pushes the rest of the arrow through the rest of his arm, pulling out the bloody head.
He then looks down at the ruinous state of the leather jerkin, torn by the goblins tiny blade. With a word and the wave of his hand, the leather stitches itself back together. “Alright, let’s see if we can find any clues as to where Gundren went.” Valathar takes stock of the clearing.
Kor voluntiers to search South of the road, and comes up with nothing that indicates that the goblins came from this direction.
This opens up the North to Valathar to search, and he readily finds several small footsteps leading further north, along with tracks of displaced Earth and broken twigs that indicate that two things were certainly dragged in this direction as well. Because of the crit, Val also finds a potion of healing right next to the downed goblin, who is currently convulsing due to the poison in his system.
Watching the walking dragon magically mend his armor, Kor had been struck with inspiration. After going up empty on his search, he walked back to the empty ruined backpack he had discarded, he picked it up and waited for dragonborn to finish his search.
Once Valathar finished looking around, Kor asks him, "Think you can mend this?" showing him the backpack. "I've got a couple ideas that may help us if we run into more goblins, but I'll need this functional to get the best results."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
After his discovery of the tracking leading North, Valathar points out his findings to his fellow adventures. “It looks like these goblins ambushed Gundren here, and dragged him and his companion through the brush here. Gundren wasn’t huge, but I bet those goblins couldn’t have made it far dragging him. What do you think? Has anyone ever encountered goblins like this before? I’ve heard tales, but never seen one so close.”
Taking the backpack from Kor, it’s mere seconds before the fabric of the sack is returns to it’s original state. Handing it back to him, Valathar comments “Hope you can put it to good use. These goblins really got the jump on us. Hopefully that won’t happen again.”
Valathar then notices the sounds of the convulsing goblin. His first reaction is rage at the wounds caused by the creature, but the sounds of suffering quickly quell that anger, and pity fills the dragon. Walking over, Valathar bends low and tries to help the creature. Noticing a flask of liquid, Valathar picks it up, then slides it in his belt pouch, to be inspected later when time is less pressing.
"I don't know much about these creatures myself. I'm not usually one for the great outdoors and I prefer my company less...stabby." Kor says to the dragonborn.
Once Kor received the mended backpack he grinned and said, "Thanks. Don't worry about the goblins sneaking up on us, I'll keep an eye out." Before turning around and jogging towards the cart.
Once there he made sure their little prisoner was safely asleep before grabbing the crowbar from his pack. Methodically checking the labels on the boxes with a grin, he searched for a box the had the VOLATILE label on it, but, preferably, not the HEAVY DEVICES warning using his crowbar to open it up (carefully).
“So we go look for Gundren sure, but what do we do with th cart? Think we can stash it off the side of the road for a little while we are gone? Or should we drop the cart off at camp and back track looking for Gundren?” Mav returns To the cart and begins to wake the goblin, covering his mouth so that way he doesn’t scream upon waking. In Orc, Mav says “Shhh, I don’t want to hurt you but I can if you make me. Now, I’m going to pull my hand away and when I do, your going to tell me where you took our friends?” And he nods as he finishes.
Put your spoiler here.

DM, how far are we from the camp we were on our way to? Would it be possible to move ahead and back track?

Val, I’ll be generous and say since it’s your poison breathe, you know how to counteract it’s effects, but don’t expect me to be so generous in the future ;)
The goblin stabilizes, and settles into a somewhat fitful sleep, but you know it as the poison leaving his system more then any deadly effects.
Kor you pry open the box and find a vast amount of dynamite sticks and wiring in neat bundles.
Mav, the goblin jerks awake and muffled cries comes from your hand before he registers what you are saying and nods his head.
Once you take the hand away, he starts talking an a high pitch, slightly slurred voice that could indicate a concussion-
”Oi, we was meaning no harms, I sweaaar. We was-we was ahhh-we was just gonna mug ya’s and be on our way back to base, yes we was.” He says nodding his head violently, then proceeding to roll his head around, eyes, unfocused. facing the ceiling of the wagon, looking at nothing in particular.
Mav is weary of this information. “If this is to be so, where did these horses come from, and how did you know there would be travelers down this path?”

“Well the boss man Klarg, got a message from the King, yes sir he did. King be saying “Hey, Crawgmaw clan, the Black Spider has payed us a hefty bounty for Dwarf Man Gunther or whatever his name was, and any possessions he had.” So we be taking him and body guard man, a little torture, and we be knowing that you guys be coming, yes we do.” You can easily tell he’s being truthful, and pratically gushing out secrets due to his concussion.
"Okay, so what is your name, friend? Who is this Black Spider? And where is your base?" Since the goblin is cooperating, Mav sits him up more comfortably in the cart, still bound. Mav looks at him with friendly eyes hoping to get a little more info out of him before returning back to the group to make a better decision as to how to proceed.

"Tell us how to get to this base of yours... The fastest route mind you... or I will trap you in a plane of existence where you will fall continuously. You will fall asleep falling, wake up falling, and eventually starve to death... if a Primordial does not eat you first!"Kent says, white eyes flashing with magical power.11
After stabilizing the goblin, Valathar feels an exhaustion like he’s never felt wash over him. He takes a seat on the ground, pulling some bread and his canteen from his pack. He pulls his jerkin off, and washes out the cut across his chest and the hole in his arm. He wraps his arm using a strip of cloth from the bedroll he carries in his pack.
"Kent, I don't know if that was necessary. Our new friend here was being very cooperative. Who knows if he even understood you." Mav seems to have taken a liking to the little goblin. Being able to speak his own language so long after being taught it through his studies at the temple, has hit a soft spot for him.

"No offense Mav," Kent says, without taking his glowing eyes off the goblin, "but this creature was involved in kidnapping or killing a friend of mine. My blood still flows from me. Akadi would not see it unjust for me to simply end this things life for what it has done. Either he helps us, or justice will be served."
