Thelan looks up sharply at Yasmina as she promises to go to the keep at first light to look for the children, but is silent for much of the story, only asking a question here and there. “Quietly and quickly, indeed. We are no match for a Black Dragon, so we will have to sneak in and grab the children from under their nose. With luck, it doesn’t know there are survivors in the keep.” He looks at Aelor “Any chance the Orcs were working with the dragon? Lure you away so it can take the keep?”he sighs “Doesn’t matter anyway, but we can likely expect the Orc survivors to be in the wood, another danger to watch.”
He looks at Fivin “Your offer to guide us is greatly appreciated. I will join you and will do what I can for the children, and to restore your home after that.”
After the tale is done Kragh sits in deep thought as he chews on his rations.
I hope they have access to water.. If not, we should leave for the keep now.
But perhaps we can persuade any Orcs to leave us be, they have no honor to gain from attacking us or preventing the rescue of the kids so I think they can be talked out of any aggression.
With that logic I think neither the dragon nor the orcs would actively act against us unless we provoke them or invade their territory. We should move in the shadows and sneak in to find the children.
Kragh is ready whenever all who's going is ready to travel.
With that, Kragh stands up and ties his pack. Ready to depart.
Thelan - Aelar's brow furrows and he says, "I honestly hadn't considered that." He pauses for a moment, processing the unsettling possibility as he stares blankly at the fire. He looks to Fivin as he says, "If the two are in league with one another, then the whole of the Sword Coast is in danger." Fivin shrugs and says, "In my experience, orcs can commit brutish and cruel acts the same as anyone, though they are usually solitary in their execution of it. They aren't known for their willingness to collaborate. As for dragons, well there's an idiom that states, 'Anything beneath a dragon is beneath it.' Meaning about the only thing they respect are other dragons and even then they have their own petty grudges between the different colors. I'm not saying it's not possible, it's certainly something to bear in mind, it's just not their typical behavior." Fivin finishes and reaches for his water skin as Aelar says, "Well, if anyone would know it'd be you old friend. You have the years and the knowledge." He turns back to you and says, "Your guess is as good as ours in regards to a possible orc and dragon alliance but I agree with your line of thinking. There is a chance the remaining orcs are regrouping somewhere in the woods."
Kragh - Aelar nods and glances briefly at Lia before speaking quietly, "If Faen and Syllis are still alive, every second counts. Their parents were our very best fighters and I know first hand they taught their children how to survive alone in the wilderness, but... They're still children, who have lost everything. And there's the dragon who took it from them..." Fivin offers, "Those two are the most precocious little buggers I have ever had the pleasure of instructing." His tone making it clear that he's being wholly endearing, "They'll probably have it tamed and doing tricks by the time we get back. They're probably..." His attempt at humor is lost in a sudden wave of sobs and he apologizes as he excuses himself from the fire.
After starting the camp fire, Yasmina sits down and eats some bread and dried meat, then drinking some water from her waterskin while listening to the others. "I suppose we leave at first light then?" She says to the others at the camp fire, glancing over at Fivin, trying to see if he is turning in for the night.
Neela listens to the story enraptured. At the mention of the Orcs, her brow furrows in regards to Thelan's assessment of the Orcs being in league with the dragons. Dragons certainly liked to have minions, she would know, but usually chose those meek and less territorial. The Orcs would only align themselves if they were getting something extremely valuable from the bargain.
She turns to Aelar. "What is in Ravenglade Keep? You said why it is special to you. But if you were a dragon, you know, all gnashy and arrogant and angry and prideful and deceitful, why would you want to take it? And how would you convince a bunch of equally arrogant and angry and prideful Orcs to help you? There's a story here, we just gotta figure it out."She considers that for a few moments before asking: "You said Ravenglade is a day and a half away? And you've already travelled that far without rest? We can't leave tonight then, Fivin would drop from exhaustion before we got there. And if there's Orcs in the woods..." she trails off looking around at her companions.
Yasmina nods in agreement with the brass-coloured kobold. "Yes, we won't be able to rescue Faen and Syllis if we are not fully rested." She says, clearly casting her vote on resting now. She didn't know much about neither orcs nor dragons and was happy to defer to the knowledge of others on those subjects.
Sinak looks to Aelas and Fivin, he says “I am not as familiar with the woods of which you speak and the location of the Keep. Is there a quiet entrance to the Keep through the Woods of Sharp Teeth? How will we approach so that we can avoid being observed by the Orcs, and the dragon?”
As the discussion of timing and departure is discussed, he says “I would certainly rather depart now, but it is no use to arrive exhausted, unable to concentrate or fight. Let’s rest overnight and travel at first light, along the most hidden path that you can think of.”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Yasmina - Fivin returns to the fire after composing himself and after a bit of conversation he says, "I am going to try and let my body rest for a few hours. Thank you all again. I will be ready come dawn."
Neela - Aelar shrugs wearily and says, "I cannot say for sure what drives this dragon to do the things it does nor the orcs for that matter, but as Fivin said earlier, Ravenglade Keep is well hidden in the Woods of Sharp Teeth. In the stories my father would tell me before meditation time, the dragons always chose old castles or abandoned mountain fortresses for their lairs. Perhaps it is not unlike the natural instinct that drives the Eastern Azurebird to nest in the abandoned tree-hole nests of the Gilded-Breast Woodpecker." Fivin gives a snorting chuckle and says, "My apologies Aelar, I do not mean to laugh, but it has been quite a day. Listening to you compare dragons to Eastern Azurebirds just tickled me I guess."
Kragh - As you try to recall what you know about orcs, Aelar's comparison between birds and dragons strikes you as funny as well, though not in the same way. You can't help but imagine a dragon sized Azurebird sitting atop a keep and begin laughing heartily as well.
Sinak - Aelar shakes his head and says, "There are no paths at all to the keep. Our people have made sure to step lightly so that any paths to it would be little more than the faintest of game trails." Fivin adds, "And our druids take care of those with their magics. Ravenglade keep was built cleverly and in a clever location so that an outsider could pass within thirty yards and not know it was there. The trees will keep us hidden from a distance but will work against us spotting others just the same. We'll just have to be quieter and more careful than an angry half-warband of orcs and black dragon. Shouldn't be too hard." Now it was Aelar's turn to chuckle lightly before saying, "At any rate, what we all need now is rest. Thank you all." And he looks to each of you in turn, "I know what I ask of you." He lets that statement hang in the air for a moment before saying, "All I can offer you is my thanks and for what it's worth, my opinion that you are good people. I will do whatever I can to repay you... Regardless of the outcome..." His gaze drops and he sighs before offering you all a quick, half-hearted smile, "Good night."

Neela pats Aelar's shoulder in what she hopes is a comforting gesture, perhaps unaware of how her kobold paws resemble a tiny draconic foot complete with claws and brass-painted scales.
"Just hearing your story is enough repayment for me. We will make this an epic tale of grit, survival and victory against all odds! For who could possibly believe this band of misfits who just met on The Coast Way would defeat such a fearsome alliance and thereby save the entire Sword Coast?"Neela, for her part, looks supremely confident.
"Ok, sleep well everyone. I'll take second watch."
Yasmina sits by the campfire and listens to the others, smiling as some jokes are made in spite of this hour of despair. She has no knowledge of, much less encountered an orc before, and ceratinly no dragons, but her new travelling companions might know much more she thought, smiling as she looked upon the Neela and Kragh. And the other two, Thelan and Sinak, certainly looked competent enough. She had been lucky indeed finding such good company, or was it fate that brought them together. She twitches slightly as the brass-painted kobold mentions defeating the orcs and the dragon. Surely she didn't mean to actually face them in battle, especially not the fearsome dragon that had driven these elves from their home. She didn't consider herself a coward, but right now those children was her only real concern. "You can wake me for the third watch Neela." She says with a smile to the brass-coloured kobold before moving over to her bedroll to tuck in for the night.

Sinak & Yasmina - Lia's face softens and she begins crying again, "It's just... I can't..." She sighs and wipes her eyes with her right hand, "I know you are right... This is the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I've always been there to protect them..." She mouths a silent prayer and looks up to you with clear, determined eyes, "My mother's intuition tells me Syllin would hide in the library as she loves books. Aelar, Fivin, and Lia also share the following information:
A fey spirit lives within the woods. It manifests as a pale blue, spectral fox with three tails, and is likely to help you all in your quest.
A strange druid lives in the forest near a swamp. She seems harmless and may be able to help.
The Ruins of Vehlarr are in the northern reaches of the woods. Although they’re deserted, there may be items there that could help you.
There’s a decimated band of orcs probably still roving the forest.
The three of them had to jump from Ravenglade Keep into the waterfall to escape the dragon. It probably believes they’re dead.
During their flight, they saw that the dragon razed the only way to ascend or descend the keep, the Sky’s Ascend, leaving the kids trapped.
A strange, glowing orb seemed to float around the dragon’s head as they fought, every now and then the great wyrm would pause as if listening to the thing.
