Kora rushes to the edge of the hole, and seeing the hands revealed by the removal of earth, conjures flame in her hands and shouts a warning down to her companion in the hole. She hurls the fire at the closest hand, while the druid scrambles back, catching hold of a rope that is tossed down by the other two.

Flames engulf the first hand leaving it charred and weakly clasping at soil before going still.

It appears there is more than one person's worth of undead hands in the hole, as three more are wiggling their way up. The druid's food skits in the muddy side of the pit and the other two are nearly yanked down when he falls back into the mud.

The hands swarm him, broken, dirty fingernails clawing at his face as he screams.

He manages to fend the hands off, superficial scratches festooning his face.

Proclaimer Ward speaks a loud clear tone, and while you do not understand the words, when they raise their staff and gesture to the druid in the pit, you see both Ward and the druid briefly shine with light.

Mixtli throws a fire bolt at one of the hands:

A second hand lies charred and still in the mud.

Tandor steps up to the edge of the pit, checking his footing. He raises the symbol of Pelor high, and cries out "O' mighty, Pelor. Send these foul things of unlife away!"

Tandor uses Turn Undead, Wisdom Saving Throw DC 14 or flee for 1 minute.

((Sorry I've been away with little notice, wife had to make an emergency room visit and get readmitted after the first surgery discharge. Been home and doing much better this go around.))

The holy energy floods out of Tandor, but the hands don't seem impacted. The cleric is certain that they are a form of undead, but suspects that perhaps there is not enough of anything animating them for his divine power to grasp onto enough to turn them.

Lady Dre remains occupied with calming her horses, while Trencher vaults into the hole, trying to land on one of the hands.

Trencher manages to land right on one, grunting as he and the hand take a bit of damage, but the soft mud allows for some cushioning, and its still scrabbling about under his boot. A swift thrust of his axe takes care of that, sending fingers twitching into the mud to shorty go still.

Kora sends a flit of flame down towards the last hand.

The fire fizzles in the wet soil, while the druid attempts to make it up the rope again.

The muddy fellow manages to scramble up to the top, where he is helped over by his two companions. The remaining claw scrabbles through the mud towards Trencher, fingies wiggling to try to get purchase on him.

"O' mighty Pelor. Visit your wrath upon the foul undeath below!" Then he speaks a holy word, calling for the final death of the moving hand.

Toll the Dead, DC 14 Wisdom save, Damage 6 if unhurt, 3 if hurt.

Mixtli's blast sends a splatter of mud across Trencher.
