Eris curiously studies the map, just in case if someone needs to take over as captain. She's acting like she's got butterflies in her well-endowed body at the moment.

Seria (Female Dragon-In-Disguise Sorcerer, Draconic Bloodline)
[I don't want to "no, but" you too much, but let's not get ahead of ourselves... you haven't taken off yet! This is a big, cinematic moment in the fiction this is inspired by, and I encourage you to have a bit of fun with it. It's the captain calling out orders to "weigh anchor" or "cast off" or something something mizzenmast. It's crew swarming the rigging or coiling ropes or battening hatches. It's swelling orchestral scores and sweeping panoramic camera angles as the ship starts to get under way. It's the Bounty leaving Portsmouth; the Enterpriseleavingspacedock. The Hispanolasetting sail for Treasure Island. The Titanic leaving Southampton, the Red October leaving Murmansk, Jack Sparrow sailing out of Port Royal on the Black Pearl. Apollo 13 or Space Battleship Yamato lifting off. Whatever this bit with the guy that plays Thor is.
(Also yeah it's a bit weird that Spelljammer gives the big fancy chair to the pilot/helmsperson instead of to the captain; naval-inspired scifi shows with "Star" in their name tend to have replaced the big spoked steering wheel with a computer console but also given the captain the big chair. On the other hand, the captain can give the helmsperson orders from anywhere on the ship (thanks to the the helm giving the ability to see and hear anything on and around the ship (with, one hopes, some privacy restrictions)), so I guess maybe they don't need a fancy seat.)]
"Standing by, captain!" Eris proudly salutes as she witnesses Princess attuning herself to the helm in an attempt to take off before going back to sketching some notes until the mission fully starts. Mission update: Captain, you should've came with me to see this but... I'm flying a new ship that... seems to have no controls other than a single seat! Don't you think this is strange, yet awesome? Also, I have acquired a sample of their weapons. Seems less advanced than our tech. Maybe it reminds me of somewhere else that we visited. Oh yeah. the mission with capturing the thief inside the academy is still active.

Seria (Female Dragon-In-Disguise Sorcerer, Draconic Bloodline)
“Oi Oi capn!” Princess sits in the helm chair and lets herself sink into the brain of the ship, spreading her sense across to get ready to take off. Feeling and seeing the crew manning stations, her metallic captain giving orders, and underneath it all a feeling of excitement and joy. She was going to fly again, and she didn’t even have to stow away or steal anything to do it!
Everyone takes their stations; the ropes mooring the Foundling to the Sky Dock are cast off and reeled in; the gangplank is raised; the large square mainsail is unfurled and luffs briefly before catching the wind.
[Princess, make an ability check using your spellcasting ability (so I assume a Charisma check)]
The Flighty Foundling slips from her berth so smoothly that for a moment you don't even realize you're moving. But before you know it, the island of Nimbral disappears quickly beneath your ship, which passes through clouds until the spectacular void of Wildspace comes into view.
With the ship safely in orbit high above Toril, it's time to plot a course to your destination, Coliar.
[This is a group skill check; each character makes a check appropriate to their role on the ship, representing, e.g. studying the map you've been given, setting the rigging, and of course piloting. The Captain makes either a Wisdom (Survival) or Charisma (Persuasion) check; the Spelljammer makes either an Intelligence (Investigation) or Wisdom (Survival) check; remaining Shipmates make either a Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check]
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The Catian tabaxi's tail perked with excitement as she watches the ship fly into space (though she knows it's just a simulation). Since Eris isn't the captain right now though, she will study the ship's layout on her own, especially the weapons which she's already familiar with having piloted and manned a ship previously. "Let me know if you need any help ok, autoguy?" She calls out before dashing all the way to the rest of the ship's areas and rooms.

Feeling the exuberance of flying again, Princess lets out an excited whoop and takes the ship through a series of spinning looping turns before settling to getting on the way.
You easily chart a course towards Coliar. You're heading insystem, so you rig the sail for tacking across the astral wind, and in no time you're ready to leave orbit.
[Does Zoide have an iconic catchphrase for ordering the jump to Spelljamming Speed?]

After a quick lesson, Princess playfully pushes on Zoide’s shoulder. “Roit Cap’n, bou time ye staht capnin an Oi staht flyin.”
(Alright Captain, about time you started captaining and I started flying.)
Icarus goes to the weapons.

At Zoide’s (to be determined) signal, Princess lets out another whoop. “Old on ta yer knickers mates!” And slams the ship into traveling speeds.
(Hold on to your pants mates!)
