Hrathen is going to start by trying to pawn his light crossbow and twentyfive crossbow bolts. After getting as much as he can for that in money, he tries to find a supplies stand where he can buy a couple of waterskins and a number of rations.

Kasbis arrives separately and then meets up with his companions, he gives Hrathen and Duncan whatever coin they require. "In addition to water and rations for the journey, we need to get a good map and some camels for the journey. We will need more than enough to just get there, we will need enough to return if unsuccessful. I would say that we need a week's worth at least. Duncan, can you locate us a map to guide us there, and then we will look into miners. Hrathen, help me find some camels and the rest of our supplies. Let's meet back here in an hour and a half, keep on your guard and watch for any owls... also (he says this quietly to Hrathen) no magic until we are out of here, understand? I think we would invite unwanted attention."

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Duncan nods, looks down to Shai and says, “come boy!” and heads off to find a guides tent. There he’ll try to get a map, as well as talk to the guides to get any general information that would be helpful in their voyage.
b/c I’m not sure what you need, here are a couple of straight rolls, you can add modifiers as appropriate: 1 - 11; 2 - 16; 3 - 8 Basically Duncan is looking to get information, a nice map, a desert cloak, and to talk with the traders/guides about dangers or threats in the area.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Hrathen as you shop you see a robust man in fine clothing in his 40's beating a hafling man. The fight is already won, but the man keeps on raining blows on the halfling. Some people turn a blind eye as another calls for the guards. The man yells "This filth is my servant and I a noble can do whatever I wish."this seems to cause the people to back away afraid to defy a noble.
Duncan you see the owl land nearby 2 mercenaries chatting. All of a sudden they look at you and seem to have gotten some hidden signal and began to approach you menacingly with hands on the hilt of their blade.
Kasbis a human with dark hair, green eyes, and dressed in travelers clothing bumps into you by accident.
sleight of hand 15
Depending on the roll he either successfully stole your money or you catch him in the act.

Duncan knows thugs when he sees them. He quickly reaches down and picks up Shai, putting him in one of the pockets in his new desert cloak. He then stops in the road and slams the butt of glaive into the ground in front of him, enough for it to stand on it own. Then, standing his ground, arms crossed but able to grab his weapon in an instant, says, “No need for any trouble here fellas. Just pass on by.”
intimidation 20 - if able to use intimidation (str) +5 , or if using cha +1 (using the way the DMG talks about using other stats for some skill checks if possible)
Also, @DM - if this does go to combat, please just roll initiative for me. I’m fine with you making nearly any rolls (initiative, saves, etc) for me, instead of having to wait. It just keeps the action going in this, already slow, PbP format.

Duncan placed his hand in his glaive and pulls it up and out of the ground, and then replies, “I’m afraid I don’t do well with threats. Who wants to talk?” He then looks around to get a good understanding of what these two might be capable of ((weapons and armor?)), and the layout of the market or how others might be reacting ((perception 18))
Kasbis grabs the hand of the would be thief, catching him in the act, and stares at him, holding his hand and glaring into his face. As he’s holding his hand, Gaz moves down his forearm and readies himself to strike. “Don’t do that.” Kas says to the thief, with a slight hiss. “You’ll regret it. They will have trouble finding a place for your body. Now run along, little fish.”
Is Kasbis nearby, does he see the mercenaries approach Duncan?
(How much did Hrathen get for his crossbow and bolts, or do I just use players handbook prices?)
Hrathen walks up to the man beating the servant and yells in his most commanding voice "GROVEL." He is casting command, which requires a dc 13 wisdom save to counteract. Otherwise he follows the one word command.

The mercenaries are wearing splint mail. 1 has a longsword and shield. The other a greatsword. They look like mercenaries with plenty of experience as they stand confidently in front of Duncan.
There are onlookers and many who flee the area. Yes there are alleyways nearby. You stand on the main path of the Bizarre market.
Kasbis does not notice this as he is around the bend and busy dealing with a thief. If Duncan dashes then he can meet up with Kasbis.
Hrathen pawn those items at half cost 12 gp for light crossbow. 5sp for bolts.
The nobleman has a look of rage as he complies with Hrathen's command. The Hafling servant weakly moans barely moving. His face is covered in bruises and has a bloody lip.
The people around Hrathen have a look of shock. They wonder was Hrathen some high rank noble to be able to command another noble in such a way.
The thief yanks his hand and runs off. Kasbis does see people running away to your left. There seem to be some kind of commotion around the bend 60 ft from you.

Hrathen walks up to the man and his servant. He casts healing word on the servant, healing him for 4 He then looms over the nobleman. "Pretentious fool. I hope you take this as the lesson it is. All are equal, no matter their birth. Take this slap on the wrist and learn from your pain." With that, Hrathen turns and walks away. While he was shopping he bought 15 rations, one tent, and ten waterskins.
