Katar's warding spell works just as he planned; both creatures find themselves unable to carry out the attack they intended, and no one else is within suitable range. The cleric and Luna continue to move northwest in tandem, leaving the fray behind them.
Meanwhile Zephyryn strikes one of the creatures twice with his sun blade before sending it sprawling with a smash from his shield. Grim overwhelms his foe, cleaving it three times with his greatsword.
None of the creatures are slain, but the brief exchange of violence has left them with little spirit to continue. All of them flee the scene by attempting to move "downward."
Grim and Zephyryn are allowed an attack of opportunity, after which all players may act.

As the grotesque creatures give up their attack, the white-haired half-elven maiden becomes visible again, letting go of Katar's hand with a brief warm smile. "Good work gentlemen. Now let's hurry on to the Towers of Night." She turns and calls back to Grim and Zephyryn, ready to move on through the astral sea, still wary of new threats.
Grim also lets his adversary retreat rather than cutting it down. He takes several deep breaths, controlling his heart rate as he moves towards the rest of the group. "Onwards, then..."
Feeling Luna pull away, brief gentle warmth lingers on his hand, and Katar chuckles at the stolen moment of fleeting tenderness. “Satisfied?” The red-haired cleric says, a smile playing on his thin lips. “They were mindless creatures, I doubt they know what honour is. In all likelihood, they were only hunting whatever comes through here.”
"Satisfied? I just thought you perhaps could manage to go on without me holding your hand now."Luna calmly responds with a brief playful smile at the red-haired elf before turning serious and looking ahead in the distance for any approaching threats.
“Oh, yes. So your idea of honor is seeking retaliation even against foes no intelligent capacity to comprehend the concept. Isn’t that quite…” Katar makes a broad gesture, his smooth voice trails off as if he was about to say something else, but at the last second replaces the word. He twinkles at the blue-skinned paladin. “Inefficient?”
“Why, I could not.” He says to Luna, with faux heartbreak, but a smile in his eyes. His fiery hair flows behind him as they proceed forward. “But I was talking to Zephyryn, melda.”
“Once again you miss the point, Katar. But I am not here to teach you, I am here to help your Goddess. And I do that because I believe it to be the honourable thing to do”, Zephyryn says waving away Katar’s criticism.
The white-haired half-elven maiden turns away and blushes as she realizes her mistake. Melda. Then, as she hears Katar and Zephryn argue about their different views on honour she turns a gives them both a stern look. "Gentlemen, I deeply appreciate your concern and your assistance in this quest to set free the Moonmaiden, but to do so I'm convinced we would need to stay focused and not waste our strength on anything not quite necessary to our success, whether it be battles or arguments which can wait til another time, a proper time." She says with a firm voice, looking between the blue-skinned paladin on his mighty mount and the red-haired elf with his white billowing cloak. "Now, can we proceed?"
Katar ends the argument with a little elegant bow of his head, feeling no need to continue. And he certainly doesn’t see himself picking it back up after they accomplish their goal. Sounds dreadful, actually. He hopes he’ll have better things to do. “The Moonmaiden awaits.” He says, a gracious smile on his lips as he gestures them to continue on.
With the attack successfully thwarted, the four of you continue the strange journey toward the Towers of Night. The unnerving and shadowy creature that wails about Shar's pain appears twice again, each time for less than a few minutes. It seems devoted to being near the four of you until you arrive at your final destination.
Despite the strange "timelessness" of the Astral Plane, the need for rest--a long rest--weighs upon everyone's mind. As you consider how, or where, to commit yourselves to such a rest, you spy what appears to be a long lost temple, something that looks as if it vanished centuries ago from the material world. Approaching it, you see amongst the pillars and crumbled black and white masonry a statue depicting a two-faced goddess. In one hand she holds a jet sphere of darkness, and in the other a marble half moon. The figure is immediately recognizable as depicting both Shar and Selûne as two aspects of the same goddess.
The place is unexpectedly serene and "permanent," in light of what you've experienced thus far in the Astral Sea.
NOTE: Exhaustion rules, per PHB, will come into play if the party continues any longer without rest.

Continuing their journey through the astral sea, the white-haired half-elven maiden turns and speaks to her companions as they reach the long lost temple. "Gentlemen, I believe it would be prudent to seek shelter here to be at our full strength as we arrive at the Towers of Darkness." She suggests in a firm tone, then using her divine powers to call forth her arcane invisible eye to let it scout the temple.

As the Tower of Night comes into view, breaking the monotonous stretch of the Astral Sea, Katar finds it not at all he expected. He expected a heavily fortified stronghold, but what’s before him is more of a temple than a fortress. He thinks back to what he knows, especially the style of architecture and the looming statue of the two-faced goddess. Does he recognize any of it?

“We should rest somewhere away from here.” Katar says, his golden eyes gazing at the Dark Tower. “Not that she doesn’t already know we’re here, of course.”
Grimaldus will wait for the scouting results of the arcane eye, cautious and alert for attacks. "I do not think this is the Tower of Night, but I am not a follower of either godess, so..."
"No gentlemen, I'm quite sure this is not the Towers of Night but I do believe we will need to be fully rested when we arrive there so I suggest a rest here rather than out in the open astral sea. I will just make sure there aren't any obvious threats inside but I am also curious to see what this place holds for us, maybe some clue to what is really happening." The white-haired half-elven maiden says softly to her companions while her invisisble arcane eye searches the temple.

Zephyryn holds the Sun Blade vertically up in front of him as if in salute as the creatures retreat, satisfied that honour has been maintained.
Turning Tempest towards the now visible Luna and Katar, he starts to continue their journey.
"Very well, I am ready. let us see what this place has in store for us next", he says jovially.
Grim also lets his adversary retreat rather than cutting it down. He takes several deep breaths, controlling his heart rate as he moves towards the rest of the group. "Onwards, then..."

Zephyryn looks at Katar quizzically for a moment.
”It was not their honour I was worried about. They may be mindless but we are not”, he replies from atop Tempest.

The warrior moves on, barely paying attention to the trio. His attention was spent on the surrounding area to detect the next threat...

Zephyryn looks from Luna to Katar and then to the temple.
”Is this the tower?”, he asks a bit confused.
He dismounts from Tempest and stands patting the Griffon.
”I had in mind something taller and more foreboding. This seems quite peaceful”.

(So I guess this counts as a loooong rest? =D
