“The grace of the Moonmaiden cannot return soon enough.” Katar continues in elvish. Orange firelight dances on the elf’s handsome face, highlighting the wolfish grin playing on his thin lips, his lambent eyes golden and intent. His jaw tightens as he sees the assassin teleports onto another roof, escaping the fire. “Oh, bother.” He mutters softly to himself in elvish. He steps forward towards the two warriors, wanting to catch a glimpse what they are shooting at, as he lights brilliant radiance onto the assassin’s hiding place.

"Why yes, I see the fellow, Grimaldus", Zephyryn replies to Grimaldus just as an arrow from the archer in question strikes him, penetrating his armour slightly. He shakes his head in disapproval but ignores it for the moment as he points the Sun Blade at the archer and demands they 'Approach!". At the same moment, he sees Grimaldus send not one, but two eight inch greetings their way.
He waits in place, sword held pointing at the archer, watching to see if they do as bidden whilst his cloak billows out dramatically behind him in the sunlight created by the Sun Blade.

This corner of the Hinge continues to flash with flame and radiance as the battle persists. Only one of Luna's eldritch blasts find its mark; the wooden platform behind which the cloaked figure is hiding absorbs the energy of the other three attacks. Seconds later, however, that same archer finds himself enveloped in the flaming radiance of Katar's spell. Despite the wounds he just suffered, the archer (4) demonstrates just how fleet of foot he is. With incredible speed, he turns and flees into the darkness to the east.
Meanwhile, Grim watches as both his shots narrowly miss their target; the bolts ricochet loudly off the stone railing. Unable to resist the command of Zephyryn, the black-clad archer deftly hops over the railing and walks briskly toward the genasi. As the archer draws nigh, Grim and Zephyryn can discern facial features of a tiefling beneath the creature's hood. The tiefling's garb indicates he is one of the shadow monks loyal to the Temple of Shar.
The twang of the rooftop archer's bow rings out twice more, but both shots are intended for the shadow monk that has approached Grim and Zephyryn. Each arrow misses, strikes the stone street, and shatters violently into multiple pieces. The rooftop archer then, once again, disappears into the night. Despite the fact that he cannot go too far, none of you are able to see him.

(Grimaldus would be on the eastern side of the crate - he meant to use it as cover from bandit #3's original position. This puts him about 20' away from #3's current position.) Grim spins around, loads another bolt, and fires. A loud pop accompanies the missile as it flies towards the assassin. Grim spins the crossbow around to his back and grabs the greatsword leaning against the crate next to him. "Damn it all, should have stayed where I was..." he curses.
The white-haired half-elven maiden again emerges from her cover, gracefully carried by her white winged boots, spotting another of Shar's servants now facing the striking blue-skinned Air Genasi. Her clear blue eyes focuses as she utters a word in celestial, unleashing another four beams of pure moonlight from her thin white staff towards the shadowy archer.
"It looks like others are here to oppose the darkness brother."She says in a soft but firm voice as she passes behind the the elf in the white billowing cloak down on the street. She then lets her white winged boots swiftly carry her into cover.
(Hoping to end up in cover 30 feet to the southeast. If not possible Luna will take a Misty Step to accomplish this.)
Coming around the building, the flames dance at the corner of his vision, throwing warm light onto the ground, Katar catches glimpse of the dark clad shadow figure emerges from his hiding place and steps swiftly towards the warrior. Two arrows broke at the ground around him, failed attempts at assassination.
“Indeed.” Katar replies to Luna, a faint grin on his lips, eyeing the blue skinned genasi in his majestic billowing cloak. Approaching the scene, he raises one silk-gloved hand and great gushes of water pours out from the sky onto the burning roof.
Movement: Using 30' to continue to move towards south
"There now, it's much better to duel face to face, don't you think", Zephyryn says to the Shadow Monk just as 3 beams of moonlight batter it. The onslaught does not stop there though.
He swings his Sun Blade in arc down and across the chest of the shadow monk then reverses the blade and follows a similar stroke the opposite way.
If the Shadow Monk still stands, he attempts to knock them to the ground with his shield. Just as he does this he hears the flow of water and sees the flames go out, leaving his Sun Blade as the only source of light.

With one merciless blow, Zephyryn delivers the stroke of death to the last visible shadow monk. The tiefling drops to his knees, allowing his bow to clatter against the cobblestones. There is no response from the other would-be assassins; so, for now, it seems the skirmish has come to an end.
As each hero takes stock of the situation, a griffon streaks through the air over the scene of the battle and cuts a sharp turning arc as it prepares to alight on one of the nearby rooftops.
As the last servant of Shar is struck down by the blue-skinned Air Genasi's shining blade, the white-haired half-elven maiden continues towards the others, still carried by her white winged boots. "Greetings strangers, my name is Luna Silverstar and I've come to the City of Sails, following a vision from my goddess, showing me a dire threat from the Lady of Loss, but also allies, allies who would be you three brave gentlemen." She says, landing near the body of the last fallen assassin, using the magic of her staff to quickly glean if they carried something of magical nature. "I admit the Moonmaiden's visions are not always clear to me, but the way you all swiftly expedited these dark servants of Shar convinces me we should face this challenge together as one." She says, smiling warmly at each of the other three, an otherworldy smile that would melt the hearts of mortals.

The flying half-elf's beauty makes the human's heart skip a beat - she was probably the most attractive woman he had ever seen in this life. Luckily, he had a mission to complete, so he forced himself to look away from her face and long hair towards the fallen assassins. He was about to kneel down and rummage through the tiefling's body and belongings looking for clues when he noticed the lady was one step ahead of him.
Grim looked around at the others in the group - a holy knight, a cleric, and the magic-wielding half-elf. They all looked so...Good. His black armor, giant greatsword, and over 7' frame stood in stark contrast to their fair skin and white or bright raiment. But whatever was going on, the fighter knew that a good squad was comprised of various skillsets. "Well met, brave ones. I am Grimaldus, an officer in the Silver Dragon chapter of the Adeptus Astartes. I do not know about your prophecies, but I can tell you that dark omens and these creatures of the shadows threaten the order of things. I am sworn to enforce order and counter the forces of chaos - so if that aligns with your visions, then I am indeed your ally."
He still pokes around the pockets of each fallen shadow monk...looking for papers, clues, or valuables! Investigation: 14
Katar approaches the others, the gold-edged white cloak sweeps at his calves, wrapped in a pair of white boots. The radiant elf wears half-plate composed of both white and golden pieces, the same color of the shield strapped to his left arm, with the holy symbol of Belenus gilt in bright shining gold. His hair falls down to his shoulders, deep red, the color of the autumn leaves.
He returns Luna’s beautiful smile, and nods at the two warriors, appreciating Grimaldus’ strong, hulking build. “It is under the dark night that we meet, Luna the Enstarred, Grimaldus of Silver Dragon. My name is Katar Naekian, and Belenus wishes me to go to the Temple of the Moonmaiden to lend my aid.” He pronounces each word in elegant common. He looks down at the assassin, recognizing the dark clothes from the Temple of Shar. He checks the sky again, the moonless night still dark, weirdly serene, like stagnant water. He whispers, more to himself. “It is truly dire, isn’t it. I don’t remember a single night where the Moonmaiden didn’t grace Faerûn with her blessing since the Year of Shadows.” And that was a little over a century ago, a chaotic time. Something in Katar worries this night may be prelude to something much bigger.
“Greetings, one and all”, Zephyryn says confidently even as he looks up to the sky and sees the griffon. A smile crosses his face and he pauses for a moment.
Telepathically at that moment he says to Tempest, “There may be more archers and a spell caster. Keep a lookout my friend”.
He turns his attention back to the others, his eyes lingering briefly on the beautiful half elf.
”But where are my manners, I am Zephyryn. Thank you all for your assistance, it would likely have taken much longer to deal with these had you not intervened”, he says inclining his head as he nudges the corpse at his feet with his booted foot. Again he speaks with the confidence of one who was sure they would have prevailed and were not in any danger.
“If you stand against whatever is responsible for the strange events of this night, I am indeed your ally. As is Tempest up there, who is keeping watch”, he adds pointing his sword to the roof where the griffon landed. They can see more clearly now it wore armour and a saddle.
“I am actually on my way to see a friend of mine who might know more about what is going on”.

Letting her magic lift the obsidian raven amulet off the servant of Shar and floating it into her pocket, the white-haired half-elven maiden listens to the others before speaking again in a soft but firm voice. "It does indeed seem like our interests here align, and I too are on my way to the temple of Selûne. Where will you find this friend Zephyryn, it would certainly be helpful to know more about what is happening if we are to stop it all." She says, her clear blue hues looking between the others.
"My friend, Podimmerus Farren, does not live too far yonder. Perhaps a five minute walk", Zephyryn replies to Luna. "He is quite the bookish sort, so I would be surprised if he does not have a theory or two at least", he adds.
"Although I would happily make way to the temple first, if you feel aid is needed there".
"My noble friend on the roof does not see any more foes skulking about, shall we be moving?", he confirms. His Sun Blade still drawn, he extends the area of the sunlight by 15 feet so that a 30 foot globe of sunlight surrounds them all.
He also extends his auras to Luna and Katar in addition to Grimaldus. He exudes feelings of safety, confidence and also speed to those close enough.

Luna's bit of divination reveals that the shadow monk's shortsword is magical. The full investigation of this servant of Shar reveals the following:
