But you're asking for character concepts still, not player applications? :)
As a player, I've close to 4k posts, joined almost 6 years ago. I've joined like 30 different campaigns, but only three of them have completed, about 3 years a piece (some were concurrent). I check the forum a few times a day and am in general pretty good at keeping track of how things are progressing. I'm located in northern Europe, so I tend to play characters that don't have too many reactions/interactions with other players, as vast majority are from US and waiting on me would take an additional day.
I'm looking for characters with a link from the builder.
One week? You're going to be flooded with applications my friend.
In your setting would it be possible to play someone who worships one of the gods of Anjara? Maybe someone who has heard of them but knows little aside from what their religious texts say.
Kind of my point. Been finding out the hard way folks love submitting a concept but aren't really following through with playing the actual game.
I've kind of had the same problem the other way around... I've watched multiple campaigns get abandoned by the DM. It really makes me sad inside to pour my heart and soul into a character (both in creation and in-game RP) for a while and then have the DM just stops responding.
It's a game. Sometimes we play, sometimes we don't. I use to take it very seriously but life has kicked my ass over the last few years and given me perspective. You can be a serious lover of DnD but when other ppl get involved you kind of have to be prepared for shenanigans.
I will seriously consider everyone willing to make time to submit but as all of you know submitting a PC doesn't mean you will always get picked. Be flexible and remember it's a game!

Sometimes a Nat 1 tells a better story than a Nat 20 ever could.
Like many who find themselves drawn into the affairs of noble genie Lords, the rumours of the vanishing archaeologist do not take long to reach those agents of the Efreeti on the material realm.
Faith was a former soldier, first a ranger then through political manoeuvring he was placed into the military police. Amongst the Legions of his homeland, far away, this was not a way for a man to become … popular.
For many years, Faith honoured the law and turned a blind eye to where the law did not honour men. When intrigue led to assassination Faith learnt the value of the law and its protection to men such as him, as he inflicted harm on many and reaped it on himself.
Left for dead on the borders of this land, a wish to the air was heard by a being of flame. Scarred now, so that he can no longer tolerate armor heavier than leather, with a voice changed by smoke, he finds his new master as lawfully evil as the last but far more perceptive than the last.
A fiend in the form of a snake now serves as his master’s eyes, and Faith finds himself tested. Sent into this land of sand like several other genie warlocks, to Faith this feels more personal than his previous orders. His master fears something that might be found beneath the desert, so much so that Faith has been given a magical weapon to undertake this duty…
(Utility wise: taken mold earth, got some utility invocations, pact keeper’s rod, a snake familiar and ritual of comprehend rituals. Written to be a jab at the Dao Archeologist Warlock, would be fun to see how this plays with genie lore and I can see other genie warlocks in here [hey BKAce] so that could be fun.)
Update: I have short listed 5 players, but I am willing to consider alternates but to 8. That's 6 players in game with 2 back ups. If I haven't contacted you, PM me directly!
There has been many repeated classes and concepts. I'm looking for a 'tank' PCs but without trope pitfalls of they smash/they're dumb. I'm looking for standout concepts not your typical way you'd play a class or a race.
Someone please give me a healer!
ALL players need to be 18+. Apologies but I'm not comfortable playing with underage folks without parental consent. If you are underage, best of luck with future adventures!
Got it! I also have a tanky fighter prepared with no games right now, let me bump up the level, choose the items and find out how to twist his backstory to fit into this game.

Player: Snikkit Sparks - Gnome Artificier (Alchemist) 3 | Stranger Things: Hunt for the Thessalhydra Theron Pyllae - Variant Human Fighter 1 | Shell Island Riwakan Thioscale - Dragonborn Fighter (Battle Master) 5 | Adventures in the Sands: Lost Tomb of Meneptah (Group 2) DM: Derailed Dreams - Panic on the Zakhara Express
Backstory: Born to two sulphur miner black dragonborns in the heart of the Sword Mountains, within a small black dragonborn colony known as the Sulphur Claws, it was clear from the moment he hatched that there was something different about him. While his parents and siblings all had the dark, metallic scales and sharp, spiky horns characteristic of their kin, he was born with a deep, dark purple coloration that seemed to shimmer and shift in the light.
At first his parents were shocked and confused by their son's appearance, and they immediately consulted with the local healers and wise ones to try and figure out what had caused this strange change. The wise ones were only able to determine that this was caused by magic or a curse, but couldn't tell much more, even after extensive research, although as he grew, it became clear that he was just as strong and capable as any other dragonborn. Despite this, he was often teased and ridiculed by his kin for his unusual appearance, and many assumed that he was weak or inferior because of it.
Determined to prove his worth, the young dragonborn threw himself into his training, working tirelessly to hone his skills and become the best warrior he could be. As he grew older, he began to embrace his unique appearance, seeing it as a testament to his determination and strength.
Eventually, he left his kin to seek out his own path, determined to prove himself as a warrior and make a name for himself among the dragonborn. First, he joined the Waterdeep Watch, but never emerged higher in the ranks as his supervisors never considered him charismatic enough to lead others. Recently he has learned about the expedition by Maitland and ensigned to be a bodyguard to his team. He hopes that he can learn something during the expedition which can bring him closer to the magic or curse which affscted him inside the eggshell. Also, he can practice his newly acquired cartographer hobby on these distant lands.
Magic item: Potion of Resistance - He received this item from a wealthy merchant (and avid collector) who recently hired him as a bodyguard for a pretty dangerous business trip.
(I also added a Shield +1 for 112 GP (Dungeon Master's Guide) and 1 piece of Walloping Crossbow Bolt (found 25-70 GP as a price so only added 1))
(Can I use the extra 200gp equipment for healing potions or is that considered magical items?)
Condensed backstory:
Leela's temple had lost its finest treasure, a fist-sized moonstone carved into the shape of an eye with diamonds as stars surrounding it. According to hearsay it had been taken by a band of thieves targeting temples as easy marks. Her temple lent her the Sentinel Shield to help her retrieve the stone.
While searching for the stone, Leela heard that the thieves were heading to Anjara to raid the temples there for their fabled riches. While inquiring about the journey, she came across Maitland who thought they might help each other - they offered a place on their expedition which would help her journey through Anjara in return for her healing and support on the expedition.

Odd was found by the local thieves guild in a dumpster, dead. Well he appeared dead and was cold to the touch, but his eyes opened. No one ever found out who had left him, and Odd didn't care. He soon found himself having a natural gift for thieving and genera skullduggery, if not always "right". He has dreams...dreams of the desert. But he never let that get to him. After making away with a very nicely done blade from a nobles armoury along with a stack of gold, Odd found that he needed to get our of town quickly and managed to worm his way into S.E. Maitland's group.
CST time zone, will usually post mulitple times per day during the week and less on weekends. He has a +1 short sword which is the stolen blade mentioned above...

Damn, perks of being on a trip, I miss awesome games 😂 I had a wizard in mind and already formed the backstory, I assume that's off the table, right?
Player:

Riwakan Thioscale - Dragonborn Fighter (Battle Master) 5 | Adventures in the Sands: Lost Tomb of Meneptah (Group 2)

Not off the table but there's plenty of casters in play. Need more tanks or healers.

I'd be willing to change my class but keep the same backstory. My character also does have some heals at present.
