Update, I'll be taking an interested player to join the campaign!
Sadly, one of the players seems to have gone absent from the forums for a few consecutive weeks now, and while I hope he is alright I'll be taking a player to replace them.
For now, if you are interested, just post as much and I will be drawing one person at random in a day or two. No need to post character info at this time, I'll talk with the eventual winner to decide what the best way is for them to slot in (but if you have ideas feel free to already post them!)
No particular character ideas, but I tend to favor "skill builds" like Rogues, Rangers, and Bards (I know, restricted class). Happy to take on whatever role the party needs!
Looked at the campaign thread. I'm interested. Let's see what this says:
Ability scores: 15128131313
I have an elf rogue ready to go, but in a low magic, mostly human world, I may want to tweak that to a a half-elf. The character is fashioned more like a ranger with a focus on scouting and ranged (bow-and-arrow) combat. The future plan would be Scout archetype (unless the party finds magic by level 3, in which case Arcane Trickster) and taking the Elven Accuracy feat at Level 4. I can post a backstory later tonight.
But I took a brief look at the campaign thread, and that one might be too much overlap with the existing group. It looks like the party is 3 x rogues, a ranger, and a Barbarian.
The ability scores that I rolled above aren't great, but it's a pretty even spread. I think that I could tweak a monk character that I recently built. The idea was that the character was a bit exotic with a far traveler background (or possibly a former sailor?). He has now finished his initial training as a monk and has left the monastery to go out into the world again. Perhaps he's spreading the monastery's message of enlightenment? Or maybe he was sent on a mission by the head of the monastery? If he was a passenger on that other ship, you could pop him into the current events happening in the campaign thread right now.
The monk was originally built as a Yuan-Ti, which may not be appropriate for your campaign setting. I'm happy to change it, but I may need to message you about races. I was thinking maybe dragonborn, tabaxi, or goliath. (With those ability scores, he'll be maxing out at AC 15 for now, so stone's endurance is attractive. So, if the world has goliaths, maybe a tall, wiry goliath.)
The starting party was 4 rogues, a ranger and a fighter. We've since lost a fighter and gained a barbarian, so losing a rogue and gaining another wouldn't be too large a departure from where we started.

I'm good either way. Both the monk and the scout rogue have tried and missed recent campaign recruitments, so I have a pretty good handle on these builds.
I've never been a member of a party comprised entirely of one class. 😃 I guess that it's easier to do with rogues since that class has the capacity for a lot of range, from a thief to a swashbuckler to something closer to a bard.
But I guess a monk would be able to keep up with a bunch of rogues, especially once he gets a few levels under him. Maybe he has that passion of the converted and is a bit preachy? How accustomed is he to the more regimented life of the monastery? Would the chaos of a bunch of adventuring rogues be a constant source of irritation? Or would it he find it liberating as he starts to explore his discipline on his own outside the walls of a monastery? Lots of fun possibilities. But I guess I'd also have to check with M0rtimer7 about which monk subclasses are sufficiently non-magical.
I'll try to read more of the campaign thread tonight / tomorrow to get a better feel for where either of these characters could fit. Is there a D&D Beyond campaign that gathers all of the character sheets in one place so that I can get a better look at the current party?
There is, but that would require acceptance into the current campaign first, but M0rt said that folks can hold off on fully fleshing out a character until after the roll to see who gets accepted. So whoever the dice favor would get added in and be able to see the character sheets of the players in the campaign.
However, I shared my character sheet in my earlier (page one) post for the character, and many of the others may have done so as well, but not sure if the full party is there.

I have been informed all my campaign ideas are being hijacked and I have to turn the overall plot into a heist movie, yes. Also something about killing all non-rogues? We'll see.

Random aside, you can't see/access the other character sheets from the campaign page?

I think that the point was that until the new applicants are invited to the campaign, we won't have the campaign link. Therefore, unless everyone posted the link to their characters earlier in this thread, we won't be able to see them. I normally look at the existing party members to tweak my character to fit into the group better (less redundancy, cover gaps in the party skill proficiencies, etc.) when I'm applying to join an existing party.
But that's not really necessary if you just want a more general character introduction, and we'll work out the details after you make the selection.

Ah. My apologies. I missed that it's a random drawing. I guess I shouldn't try to read the forum while I'm at work! I'll stop asking so many questions unless I'm selected.

I can see them fine, but any new applicants pre-selection will have to scour the first few pages of the thread to see if the party members posted their sheets. Mine is there, but not sure about others, and didn't bother to look. :P

I would be interested.

Wishing you best of luck on your search!
This looks fun! Definitely interested.

Rogues for the win!

Low magic sounds like a lot of fun, I am interested :)

Oh yes, I'm mostly asking for Spider, not the general public. Yes, exact specific is something that'll be figured out after I do the roll.

Naw, it was a good tactic. I was *this* close to withdrawing my name and unsubscribing just so I'd quit getting alerts every time you post😉
LOL 😄
Sneaky, right? I guess I'll fit right in with all of the other rogues!

Ah, I see, you meant only for potentially interested players.
In each case, I will roll for this later today.
And the wheel SPINS! And...
Groverbloom! Congratulations, and apologies to the others. I will contact you by dm.
Thank you. Look forward to hearing from you.
