Basic backstory Tristan grew up in a small goblin village where goblins were hunted for sport by Adventurers, even looking her brother Goob to them. She, however got curious about adventurers, and wandered why people hunted them. Couldn't there be peace between them? When she asked her village elder if she could travel in order to discover, he refused, calling adventurers "A curse on the world". The strong warrior goblin, Jebb, liked her idea, and decided to train her for the larger world and then have her sneak out of the village when ready. After a while, when she finished her training, she left the village in the dead of night, and set off to find a populated area in order to discover why goblins are hunted by adventurers.... by becoming one herself.
Why is your character in Mezzra now? Mezzra is the civilization that she's found in her travels, the one where she'll make her discovery.
She wears a mask, a hood, and long pants as a disguise to hide the fact that she's a goblin, so people assume that she's a gnome.
Stats (with racial bonuses): STR 10, DEX 17, CON 12, INT 17, WIS 14, CHA 11
Background: Haunted One
Backstory: Sibyl was a curious child from the get-go. Raised in a small, forest community of gnomes and other forest-preferring species, she often wandered far from the forest and befriended any city-dweller traveling near the wilderness. When Sibyl reached maturity, she left the forest, happening upon a traveling scholar who took her to university, and relocated in order to study. She joined a university to study anatomy and physiology, working on a variety of species, especially humanoid creatures. After many, many case studies she begins to take an interest in folklore and "folkloric" magic races that may or may not have existed. She studies the (now considered) myths of pixies, fairies, and unicorns, creatures of almost certain magical origin. Despite no real, objective evidence to prove the existence of magical creatures, races, or abilities, Sibyl uses her privileged position at the university to attempt to locate magical creatures or to investigate magical behavior. She drops all to immerse herself in the study and investigation of magic.
Why Sibyl is in Mezzra: Sibyl has heard rumor of magical creatures or situations in Mezzra. Although the stories will likely turn out to be exaggerated, the gnome speeds to Mezzra to investigate the potential existence of a race that was thought to be fairytale material. Accustomed to fixating on tales of the fantastic, Sibyl wastes no time ignoring the wise pleas of fellow scholars and travelers, choosing to focus, instead, on getting to Mezzra and locating objects, creatures, and persons of magical origins. She wanted to believe.
Other details: Sibyl joined the university to focus on the study of magical creatures. Although the subject is laughable to most scholars, Sibyl maintains that it is a worthwhile topic. She believes that magical races did exist, and that there could be a resurgence, someday, of magical activity. And though her focus on magical species is frowned upon by most university scholars, she has received excellent training in the anatomy and physiology of creatures, often performing dissections and surgeries upon said races to learn more about them. Her roguish abilities extend from her surgical training (sleight of hand) and her natural tendency to bury her true motivations (discovering magic) behind superficial motivations (like studying corpses).

Basic backstory: Khond has long dreamed of being a performer, and to that end studied the performing arts from a young age. Early in life, he dabbled in a variety of fields - music, singing, acting, he even tried dance, though that proved rather disastrous. Once he had tried his hand at all sorts of things by hid mid teens, he dedicated himself to acting, joining a performing troupe to learn the art. Unfortunately, it was difficult to find roles that perfectly fit him thanks to his equine half, but he was welcomed nonetheless, and with the "magic" of an audience's suspension of disbelief, could always find his place within the play, or at least served as a narrator.
After several years of studying with the troupe, Khond and others his age were given a form of graduation project: They were to go out into the world, and find a story worthy of having a performance made from it. Once they had their performance, they would return to the troupe and have it evaluated; if they had done well, it would be added to the group's repertoire, immortalising their name as a great act's creator. So, Khond began his travels.
And so, after much exploration, the centaur finds himself in Mezzra, hoping the bustling city will finally provide the intrigue and mystery needed to inspire his great work.
Other details: Khond would maintain the stance that magic exists, but not as what most would think of with the word; Instead, he believes that true magic is in the form of belief and drawing the audience into the performance; The lighting, the music, the set, the props, the actors, and even the audience, these are all part of the magic, and when it all comes together just right, everyone will truly believe, just for a brief while, that they are seeing fantastical stories play out as reality.
Is that list of classes final, so Bard and Artificer would be banned? Bard I would have hoped could mostly fit as a more mundane performer - particularly Eloquence - and while I wasn't planning to take Artificer I thought their whole deal was that they make gadgets rather than using actual magic. Not going to argue against it if the list you gave is final, just want to double check it.

Sadly yes. I was looking at both options to see if I could excuse/handwave them, but both have things that can't be explained with anything else but "it's magic", and I wasn't about to either butcher half a class or handwave the other half with "Oh trust me it's not magic". Artificer meanwhile is "magic, but applied through technology" and I COULD have altered that to be something else, but then we'd suddenly be dealing with a steampunk world which also wasn't the intention. Still, I'll keep it in mind.
And thank you! Also yes, the standard array offer was really just there in case someone had the most terrible roll ever. XD
Ah well, Rogue it is then. I knew it was a wild hope that it could be possible, since I only really have a surface level understanding of bards, but I just had to ask. XD

Alright, going to close the signups here! I'll only be able to roll later today or tomorrow, so anyone that might have gotten in but not put in at least a basic backstory has time until whenever this happens.

Ok, thanks! Also, could you post in this thread once you've chosen your players, so that anyone who didn't get picked won't be left in the dark?

Alright, the rolls are done! Was a bit hard to decide how many players I'd want to drag into this as it seems we ended up with 18 applicants, but in the end I decided to play it safe and should only accept six players lest things spiral out of control- At least for now...
So, without further ado, the players in question are:
BKAce
Rodgeir
Spiderwrangler
Gmonk1967
Foreverhound
Rynn_Elocin
Congrats to all of you, and sorry to those who didn't get in! I will be contacting the winners through DM to ask a few questions, and probably also get an OOC started of some kind.

I can believe four out of six ones rerolled into another 1. Dice gods hated me on this one, yet this array still trumps the Standard Array. XD
Also, good to see you making something new, M0rt! You've always run amazing games, so whoever gets in is going to be in for a treat.
