If Felix can, he will send his familiar to go check silently what is waiting for us at the top of the building. (Passive Perception 18 by sight and smell) "Go Inky, tell me what is up there." he whispers
Daphyra shares her Eyes of Night with Felix, Kerra and Tasmara, giving them 300ft darkvision for an hour.
She also asks for the Goddess's blessing and taps Kerra on the shoulder as she goes past, giving her a Vigilant Blessing (advantage on next initiative roll).
((Yes, it's dark now. But there are lanterns on the streets so you can still see.))
Kerra doesn’t see any traps or signs of danger around Heth’s Apothecary. The dark street is pretty much empty, except a lone merchant peddling her wares on the side of the street. She appears to be selling creatures from her menagerie, and the faint scent of hay and animal musk wafts over from her stall.
Slick shrugs indifferently. “What is there to know? He's a nasty gnoll, through and through. Smells worse than the back alleys of this district, if you can believe it. I'm always amazed he hasn't been shut down yet. I wouldn't trust the guy as far as I could throw him, but I guess if you need something special, he's your best bet."
Inky manages to scamper up the ladder and takes a closer look at the entrance. The door is closed, but there is a potent aroma of herbs and salves emanating from within. Beneath the pungent scent lies a putrid smell of sewage, which makes its tiny nose twitch in disgust. Inky jumps onto a windowsill and peers inside, the apothecary walls are lined with shelves and jars, but not much else.

Felix telepathically discusses with Inky and whispers his group "looks like nothing terrible is waiting for us upstairs. I'll go have a look" He then starts to climb slowly the ladder while looking for any booby-trap
Actually, Keera already opened the door (post 179: "If nothing caught her eye, the cat girl climbed the stairs - as softly as her paws allowed - and opened the door.")
With the support of others joining her upstairs, she entered the Apothecary and looked around.
Daphyra takes another look around, but the trailing cats are nowhere to be seen.
As you all make your way up the ladder to Feth's Apothecary, a musty smell permeates the air. Upon entering, you are greeted by a plethora of lined shelves adorned with jars and bottles filled with various liquids and powders. The faint sound of shuffling emanates from further within the shop, and soon a scratchy voice greets you. "My guests!"It calls out, "What brought you all here?"
A dirty and repulsive gnoll hobbles out from the shadows, dressed in a stained and ragged white thawb, and leaning heavily on a cane. He has one cloudy eye and a twitch to his movement. He comes to a stop in front of the group, opening his mouth to speak and unleashing a wave of putrid breath and exposing his missing teeth. "How can I help you?"He asks.

Kerra watched Daphyra's polite communication with the dirty gnoll silently, but she tried to pay extra attention to the expression of this repulsive dog. (\insight: 17 ) as well as listening to any suspicious noise (she still was not convinced it was not a trap of some kind). Perception: 17
Heth's gnarled fingers clutched the handle of his cane tightly as he speaks, "Oh, Raheed,"he says, his one cloudy eye staring vacantly. "Yes, he was here earlier. He wanted money for an object, but he asked for too much. I told him I wasn't interested and sent him home."
Daphyra:
Daphyra hears a faint sound coming from deep within the apothecary, like something is moving around. The sound seems to be muffled, perhaps coming from behind a closed door.
Kerra:
As Heth speaks, Kerra notices the twitchiness of his movements becoming more pronounced. His cloudy eye flickers nervously, and his grip on his cane tightens even more. Something tells you Heth is not telling the whole truth and he’s eager to send you away.

Felix is having a hard time trusting Gnoll. Draining power from his spellbook, Felix quickly cast swiftly detect magic to have a clear view of what is magical in this shop.

(Using my ability to cast a ritual spell as an action) "- When you cast a wizard spell as a ritual, you can use the spell’s normal casting time. You regain use of this feature when you finish a long rest."
"Heh, you are lying." Kerra stared into the gnolls' eyes with a grin. "You know perfectly well where he is. From how eager you are to get rid of us, I'd say he is still here. Am I right?"That was a bluff, but not baseless. The gnoll did want to get rid of the group, Kerra felt it in her tail!

“Lying? Haha… why would I be lying. You must be mistaken, mistress,”Heth says, his voice trembling slightly. He clears his throat and continues, “I told Raheed to go home after telling him I’m not interested. As to where he is right now, I'm sure he's back at his home. I can point you the way if you like."
“It was just a rock or something he had. I didn’t pay close attention.”Heth answers Daphyra.
Felix:
You notice a few faint auras of magic emanating from the jars and vials on the walls of the apothecary. As you focus on your detect magic spell, you also sense distinct auras of abjuration, evocation, and a particularly strong aura of enchantment coming from Heth himself.
You also notice Heth's gnarled fingers are gripping his cane tightly, and his one good eye is flickering around nervously. You sense he’s very nervous being caught in a lie.
Daphyra:
On the back of the apothecary, there’s a door to the other room. You think that’s where the noise is coming from.
Daphyra moves forwards a little more, trying to skirt around the side of where Heth is standing, towards the back of the room, to triangulate if the sound is coming from the back room.
Kerra tried to keep Heth's attention on herself, seeing Daphyra was trying to move unnoticed. "I know you are lying, because you, dogs, smell when you do, and you practically reek."It could be counted as an insult but she did not really threaten the gnoll. Just a common notice from a cat to a dog. "Raheed owns quite a lot to some of us. Do you really care about him so much you want to stand between him and debt collectors? If you don't plan to pay for him, would not it be safer to give him up?"
She even smiled to make the idea sound more convincing (Persuasion: 12)
Felix tries to memorise which jars are magical and calls out Kerra. "Yeah he is lying, I can tell for sure. Some magical auras are also emanating from him, I can feel it." He then looks straight in the eyes of Heth: "We called out your poor bluff Gnoll, why don't you tell us where is Raheed ? There's no need for violence here, but don't you think we are weak..."
Heth narrows his cloudy eye, his gnarled fingers tightening around his cane. He bares his yellowed teeth and lets out an annoyed hiss, but quickly composes himself. "I am not standing between anyone and debt collectors. I am merely a humble apothecary, tending to my own affairs. Raheed is not my concern, nor is his debt. I have no interest in involving myself in such matters."
Out of the corner of his eye he notices Daphyra trying to sneak past him, and he waves his cane around. “Hey, hey, where are you going? That is private room back there!”Heth straightens his posture and grips his cane tightly, a snarl forming on his lips. He puffs out his chest and tries to loom over the group, though his hunched figure does little to enhance his intimidation. "You don't want to mess with me,"he growls, his voice cracking slightly. "You better leave now if you know what's good for you. Or I will call the guards and tell them you tried to rob me."
