Distracted by the fascinating books in the small library, the white-haired elven maiden curses herself as she fails to notice the first sounds of the bell, quickly grabbing her elven longbow and hurrying after the others. She could only hope the bells didn't mean the dragon itself was attacking, that would surely spell doom over the small keep and the townsfolk within it.

While you are going down the stairs, you clearly see some people trying to get up the stairs the same time. Panic in the eyes of the commoners is visible and you can almost taste their fear. The different voices blend in as you pass down the staircase.
"They are comming...Where?Where's mommy? They are reaching walls...Save us! Keep calm! Bless me priest in my final hour...Save my child, please..."
As you move through the crowd, you reach entry hall now almost empty from any townsmen.
The governor exits the tower and shouts "What is going on?". The internal gate is closed with few guardsmen standing around it with their spears pointed towards it as the gate itself was to attack them any minute. There are few with deep wounds that are being taken care of by medics and volunteers.
You quickly identify Escobert, whose unique posture and flaming red hair are immediately visible.
While walking towards the governor, Escobert is limping due to severe cut on his right leg. "Those dogs took the sally... We've lost the external gate. They are inside so it is just a matter of time they breach this one too..."

Tyto looked around him and saw the townsmen and women running around, fearing for their life. He grabbed a young man, who looked panicked and helpless, by the shoulders and looked deep into his eyes.
"As long as the roots aren't dried out, the tree is not dead. Now is the time to fight back: Protect your flock, and you will prevail."
Tyto turned around. Most of the townsfolk were deeply afraid, running around headlessly like a herd of deer after spotting a pack of wolves. Some were deeply wounded, and Tyto could see that the healers of the town did their best to treat their wounds. He paused for a second - how could he help these people best? What the townsfolk and their militia needed now was a strong leader. Tyto's eyes searched for Swan's, trying to gauge what she would do next. Tyto would not hesitate to risk his life for these people, but whatever the group's next steps would be, it would likely take some time to organise a counterinitiative, to come up with a plan. Tyto made a decision. He strode over to where the medics looked after the wounded, trying to help as best as he could, both by treating minor wounds with the herbs and poultices he had available, and by providing Guidance to the medics wherever a more difficult treatment was necessary. While doing all of this, he kept a close eye on the governor as well as Swan and the others.
General medicine check to help the medics treat the wounded: 21
Smiling appreciatively as the gentle gaint cared for the toewnsfolk, Sabynn then turns to Swan and Cerau. "Perhaps we can retake the sally?" She says optimistically.
When Tyto grabbed the panicked man and spoke, the man stood for a moment motionless, but moment later he turned "No... Get away from me!" he started to squeeze through the crowd into the court yard...
The medics for sure were grateful when Tyto came in and with either advice or with spell helped them to stabilize the wounded or even to save one man's leg from being cut off...
At the same time, Escobert gives his report to the governor. "We need to push them out. If not, they will bring others..." he says tightening his shield straps. He turns to you. "Are you able to help?"

"I don't care, I'm still free. You can't take the sky from me..."
As Swan descends the stairs, her heart pounds in her chest, fueled by the fear and desperation that fills the air. The voices of the panicked townspeople blend together, their pleas and cries for help echoing in her ears. She pushes forward, trying to navigate through the crowd, offering words of reassurance and lending a helping hand where she can.
Reaching the entry hall, Swan takes in the scene of chaos and the guardsmen standing guard at the closed gate. The sight of Escobert, wounded but resolute, catches her attention. She listens intently to his report, a determined expression settling on her face.
Turning to face Escobert, her amber eyes meeting his."We must defend the keep and its people,"She says firmly. "Every moment counts. Tell us what needs to be done, and we will give our all to drive them back. We are able and willing to assist in any way possible. Together, we can withstand this onslaught and protect what remains of Greenest."
Swan's eyes briefly meet Tyto's and Sabynn's, with a small nod, she silently conveys her determination to protect others. With a firm resolve, she stands ready, holding her spear and shield to face the enemy and protect the lives of the townspeople, knowing that their united strength and determination will be their greatest asset in this dire situation.
Escobert gives a few brief orders and in result two guards stand by each gate wing to remove the bar keeping it closed and to open it as soon as he gives a sign. Three or four others run to the walls with bows to hold off possible incoming aid.
"Anyone who can fight, stay by me..."he stands few feet in front of the gate with clear intent to charge on whoever is there. "...if you can support us with arrows or spells, do so..."
OOC:
The guards who will open the gate are marked green (two on each side) Escobert the Red is marked blue ;) Red will be reserved for the attackers.
"On my mark..." Escobert speaks quietly, yet you can hear it very well. He raises his hand holding his warhammer in a clenched fist. He keeps it high for a moment and lowers it to give the sign to the guards.
OOC: As the gates are opening, please make at least one post with description where are you and what are you going to do. After that I will continue with initiative roll and the fight...
Cries for help crowd Cerau's mind as she races down the stairs. The thought of these people running past, helpless in the face of destruction fills her heart with determination. She thinks of the people she has met on this short journey and how wonderful it had been to meet this group of people. This is why he travelled. To touch the lives of people, to make a difference and to work alongside others whose strengths are so vast. My father and I ride the same wind.
Cerau stands behind Escobert the Red, waiting to see how many enemies they must drive out of the sally. She holds her mace in her hands, nervous knowing her resources are somewhat depleted. She turns to her friends. "I'm only be able to cast one more large spell. I may be able to give us the upper hand on a number of the intruders but it would leave me drained if anyone needs healing. Tyto, Swan do you have any healing capabilities left?"

On a quest for exciting stories and moments of character development.
The white-haired elven maiden nods in agreement with Swan and follows Escobert to the Sally entrance, standing at Cerau's side with her elven longbow at the ready, an arrrow nocked to be released as soon as the doors are opened. She takes long slow breaths, calming herself, focusing, readying herself for the fierce battle to come, to face whatever come through that door, glancing over at Cerau, Swan and then Escobert, nodding firmly to signal she is ready.
"I only have a sliver of healing powers left," Swan says, "Let's focus on keeping the attackers at the bay to prevent more people from getting hurt."As Cerau raises her concern about their remaining healing resources, Swan's voice carries a note of caution. She steps forward, standing shoulder to shoulder with Escobert the Red, the weight of her spear resting firmly in her grasp, ready to fight the invaders.
As Tyto aided the town's healers in their treatment of the wounded, he kept a close eye on the other members of his party and on Escobert. He could see them exchange a few words, and eventhough Tyto could not hear what was spoken, the tension in their bodies told a clear story - the time for action was close - very close.
Tyto couldn't help but marvel at the townsfolk once again. At first glance it seemed like they often did not care about the wellbeing of their neighbors, or even their successors - they could be terribly egoistical and short-sighted. But confront them with an immediate danger to their loved ones, give them a chance to be a hero, and they will immediately put their life on the line.
Tyto looked around - there were still many wounded, and not all of them would survive the night. He had helped as best as he could, but he couldn't do enough. Still, staying and healing the wounded would do no good if the mysterious enemies attacked the keep and killed everyone in it - Tyto had to join the others in the fight. He could see Escobert raise his hammer, the guards at the gate waiting for his command. Tyto hurried towards the gate and joined his new friends just as Escobert gave the signal.
Cerau stepped nervously from one foot on the other and looked at the others."I'm only be able to cast one more large spell. I may be able to give us the upper hand on a number of the intruders but it would leave me drained if anyone needs healing. Tyto, Swan do you have any healing capabilities left?"
"I have enough in me to heal one more person by magic, should it become necessary."
For a moment, Tyto doubted if it had really been a good idea to heal the governor - he had not been in mortal peril after all. But a pack needs a strong leader - especially in difficult times. If the alpha is wounded, the pack will lose itself in internal power struggles - and in humans that might be even more dangerous than in wolves...
"As long as I have my herbs though" Tyto's hand patted the small pouch on his belt "your wounds shall be treated whenever we can spare a few minutes."
With that, Tyto grabs the staff from his back, casts Shillelagh and readies himself for whatever may come through the gate.
As you all line up and get ready, you pick up anxious glances of the town's guards. Few are on the walls preparing their arrows, few are by the tower entrance keeping their swords and shields in their sweaty hands.
The tension is high. You can almost taste the anticipation in your clenched teeth.
Escobert looks at you as you take your places and gives a sign to the guards by the gate. Two of them pick the bar keeping the gates closed up, and carry it to the side. As soon as they cleared the gate, the remaining two pull the gates and open it wide.
As soon as the gates are being opened, you can see three kobolds raising their weapons and shouting in their primitive language "Charge!". Next to them is one of the reptilian beasts you have encountered before. Behind it, you can see a few men preparing to attack as well...
OOC: Neither of the sides of this combat is surprised, so we'll roll initiative and attacks will take place according to the results...
