Fiach listens to both Swan and Katarina. "It is always better to capture than kill. But sometimes you have to make a decision without the benefit of thought. The risk of their camp being alerted was too great - in my opinion - to allow the woman to simply leave. Would I do the same thing again, given the choice? Yes, I would."
"But I am acutely aware that these are difficult times, forcing difficult decisions. And we have to do what's right, not necessarily what's easy."
The man looks at the body of his friend and then at Swan. "I can take you there, but you will not be welcomed there..." He says with sadness in his voice. He looks to the dying fire for a moment. With clear hesitation, he continues. "If you choose to go, wait till the morning. There is a hidden lookout near the path that leeds to the camp. You are likely to miss it at night..."

"I don't care, I'm still free. You can't take the sky from me..."
Elmin slowly made his way back and listens to the disussion. "There was no more information on the lady. I would also vote to get some rest now. We can tie them up and keep guard." As he speaks, he gets his rope out of his backpack. He approaches the man and says: "did you check their pockets ?", poiting at the man and the two corpses.
Katarina glances down at the man she killed again and a visible shudder runs through her... she remembers her sister, lying on the ground struck by the very same dark tendril barely clinging to life.
"No, Katarina has not searched them yet," she says. "So she will go ahead and do it now. Just relax, scaredy-man..."
She takes a few moments to carefully turn the man's pockets inside-out and feel the arms and legs of his clothing for any other weapons. As she does the pat down, she quietly addresses the prisoner.
"Please, try not to make Katarina angry... Katarina truly doesn't want to hurt scaredy-man, but when Katarina gets very angry, even Katarina doesn't know what will happen next..."
Her words are not a threat, but an honest warning.
After the prisoner has been securely bound, Katarina will search the two corpses... and presumably find absolutely nothing (Investigation: 4). Upon realizing that she apparently cannot find trees in a forest, she suggests literally anyone else would probably be better at doing the search.

As Katarina begins tying up the villager, Tyto approaches her from behind and gently lays a hand on her shoulder.
"I don't think we'll need to tie up our new companion. It seems like he and his friends just wanted to have a better life for themselves and trusted the wrong people. It's a tragedy that those two decided to fight us, but I think this one is a good person, and once he understands that we're just fighting to protect innocent villagers like the ones in Greenest - and like himself - he'll help us of his own accord."
With this he gives the villager a sympathetic smile. "What's your name, friend? Will you help us find the dragon lady's camp and then return home, to your previous life?"
"Somehow, Katarina thinks that if places were the other way, Katarina would be hog-tied and muzzled in the beating of a heart," she says with a half-smile.
But she puts the coil away. She really hopes that the man doesn't make her regret that decision...
Cerau, who had been as quiet as a breath in a raging storm had been shocked by the whole sequence of events. It's one thing to see homes burning and drakes roaming around, maws dripping with blood but somehow, part of me thought that once we were following the wind there would be less violence. I have much to learn.
From the edge of the clearing, Cerau stutters, "I..." She takes a tentative step closer to the prisoner and Kararina, "I agree with Tyto. Maybe they wouldn't show us the same mercy if the situation was reversed but in my experience, the scales of fate are rarely balanced."
Looking to her new friend, she smiles. "Are you okay? That was a lot of power you just used."

Fiach would have preferred to have tied up the man - but the debate had been had and the decision made. She readily volunteered to share first watch - aware she'd have to keep an eye inside and outside the camp.
"Cerau, I'd gladly take first watch with you. Unless anyone else objects?"
Elmin sits close to the fire, having a good evening meal is as important as having a good night sleep if not more. In a quick mouvement, he conjurés again his tiny owl that fly out of his vest and goes sit on high ground, keeping an eye out on the surroundings.
"Let’s try to get a good rest. Tomorrow we march at sunset and a big battle may be ahead of us.”
As you find absolutely nothing of value or of any interest in the man's pockets, you are very well aware he gets petrified as you even look in his direction.
"Please, try not to make Katarina angry... Katarina truly doesn't want to hurt scaredy-man, but when Katarina gets very angry, even Katarina doesn't know what will happen next..."
As you speak your words, he simply shakes his head as if scared his voice could enrage you and bring the magic back. You tie his feet and wrists so he cannot untie those without any help. He for sure will not be comfortable, but it's either your safety of his comfort, right?

All they told about was gathering the treasures for the sorceress and I thought they need someone to carry it... or something like that..." He looks at Katarina as she puts the ropes next to her. Cerau and Fiach share the first watch and sit in silence. It's been long time since you camped in such place. As the camp gets quiet and chests of your companions rise and fall in steady breaths, the voices of the night begin to fill the area. First a rock moved somewhere on the right, but it was just a small rodent looking for something to eat while hidden away from the watchful eyes of birds of prey.
Later some insects have started their songs. First a pleasant sound became quite an irritating chirping that filled your ears. Some quick steps on the loose rocks were heard drawing your attention immediately, but it was just a badger, who has decided to hunt for his meal.
Mid night, from somewhere in the distance, a faint howl came to your ears. A longing cry of a lone wind-sniffer raised towards the stars and the hair on your arms and neck followed in atavistic reflex. Suddenly another howl came in reply. Faint yet clear and strong. You turned your eyes to each other but managed to share a faint smile in the dying light of a campfire.
Suddenly another cry filled the night. Close. Very close. You turned your heads toward a rock you have hidden behind before and in the dim light of the night, you managed to see a raised snout of a male wolf. As he finished his song, he turned his head to you and raised his nose up in the air as if trying to get your scent. Sudden movement and hiss to your left drew your attention. It was Katarina, who woke up with her eyes wide open and fur raised along her spine she almost looked like a hedgehog. She hissed showing her sharp fangs and she raised her paw with claws drawn, ready to protect herself. As you look to her with surprise, she turns her head in search of danger, but there is none.
Nothing, but a faint wind remains on the rock when your heads turn back. It's well past the midnight - about four hours till the dawn. Who takes the second watch?
Elmin takes the second watch, with the help of his tiny owl and most probably another person of the group. Perception (with Adv) = (1 and 1, no kidding)
He will use this time to rest, learn his spells and when Smitty is a bit awake asking him what they should expect tomorrow. "Are there beasts, elementals, only humans ? How many of them ?". Elmin takes notes of everything.
Unsettled by the nearby wolves, Ceray tries to loosen the knot of uneasiness in her stomach with some long breaths. Before nodding her thanks at Fiach for the company, offering a small smile to Elmin and sets herself up to sleep near Swan. The warriors steady presence making her feel safe.
OCC - Cerau would have asked Fiach some questions while on watch, should I post them in this thread or private message them?

With his talk with Smithy, Elmin Has learned the following information:
The camp is filled with number of creatures - mostly humanoid races (elves, dwarves, humans and dragonborn) but other races are present too e.g. kobolds. The total number can be only estimated by Smithy and by his judgement it's about two or three hundred. He hasn't seen any unnatural creatures like elementals nor demons, however he says about rumors of some dragons serving the sorceress.

Within next hours, Elmin sits near the fire. For some time he watches the surroundings, but its gets boring with every minute. To stary awake, Elmin takes his tarot cards out, and tries to ser what the future will bring.
The morning lights welcome you quite early with a faint fog rising from the ground as the first lighta creeps over the horizon and chases the stars away.
As you all begin to wake up, you can see Elmin completly engulfed with reading the cards. Those of you familiar with fortunę telling can see in front of him, not the usual twelve cards but six sets of twelve set around him. He moves the Major Arcanas from one pile to another making notes and muttering to himself something about what the weather will be like in the year of the rabbit (in about 20 years). The owl sits nearby, keeping a watchful eyes on some rodent's lair.
Elmin does relay the information to the group and after a night of studying Tarot card, he is certain the group will succeed. He tries to share his optimism to the group "I have a good feeling about this. Shall we move before the sun rises completely ?"
Katarina stretches and yawns. The previous night was eventful, but she's feeling pretty good.
"Good morning, friends," Katarina says with a smile. "Katarina is ready to keep going... it seems that it is probably safe to untie Smithy scaredy-man now that all are wakeful and safe from throats being slit in the night."

Time slows down for Cerau as she looks into the embers of the dying fire. Each prick of warm light a stark contrast to the crackling light at her fingertips. The embers dance before her eyes in a circle that is all to familiar. Candles. The ritual. Her breath escapes from where it was held inside of her, "No."
The spell dissipates and Cerau closes her eyes again, willing the image of her grandmother's body to be blown away. Not wanting to remember her like that.

Smithy directs you due north east between plateaus. The road would be a nightmare at night due to lose rocks you need to cross from time to time - especially to those without any ability to see at night.
During your road, the sun raises and the fog clears from the ground and heats your backs and shoulders chasing the chills of the night away.
"We are almost there..." Says Smithy. "There is the camp." he points ahead to the two raised hills infront of you.
Both create a gate of some sort that would lead you inside.
Smithy sits on the ground and on a cleared ground he draws with a stick the shape of a horseshoe.
"This is the entrance..." he points to the two hills ahead and to the ends of the horseshoe. "The walls are raised but there are lookouts and a tower I think... Everything is inside." he points to the center of his drawing.
