Chad rushes into the room to give chase to the bugbear. He manages to get to the side of the pillar to find that there is a hole leading downward. He can see the knees of the bugbear still sticking out as it scrambles to escape, and unleashes a Fire Bolt at the bugbear. The flames ignite the fleeing bugbear as there is a howl from the Klarg, his legs going limp as his burning body slides slowly into the hole. (Klarg: Defeated, 31 damage)
I make a quick turn to the group looking super cool. I say to the group, “I wonder where he was going?” I throw open my cloak and holster my wand. “Because it looked like he was dying to get there.” Then a minor illusion creates a voice that screams “yeeeaaaaaaah!"
Randaler is still a little shaken by his near-death experience. He tries to avoid eye contact with his companions, and begins to rifle through the dead goblins things to see if there is anything interesting, or that would give them some clue what happened to the captives.
The goblin is assaulted by Realgâr, as it tries to deflect the blows. "Ow! Stop that! We surrenders!" It cries as it shields itself from the handaxe butts. It then attempts to flee away from the group, disengages to nimbly rush beneath the arms of the others.
In the meantime, Randaler looks over the pile of boxes at the far end of the room. Behind the large crates he finds the discarded scimitars of the goblins and what appears to be a wooden chest.
The goblin cowers in the corner as another big scary adventurer approaches."No! Get away! We surrenders!" It shouts again as Chad approaches.
Chad then speak to the goblin in its native tongue. The goblin seems quite taken aback by the sudden reveal of Chad's knowledge of the goblin language.
"You speak our tongue? Me name Gurko, please no kill Gurko."
(This goblin seems a little too scared to speak properly right now, trying not to die is its priority)
I crouch down and slap the goblin in the arm playfully, continuing to speak in goblin.
”It’s ok Gurko. I’m not going to hurt you, but you have to promise to behave. No more weapons for you. But I need to know who else is in here. We’re looking for a dwarf and human that was brought here.”
"Gah!" The goblin flails in a brief second of panic from the playful punch. When he realises he's not being attacked anymore, he speaks to Chad.
"The stumpy one is gone. Boss Klarg's boss gots him now. He King Gol, chief of Cragmaw tribe, lives long way north in a castle. The hoo-man is in the eating cave, over the bridge."
“Well I need the human back and directions to the castle. There must be other goblins here. Can you talk to them about releasing our friend? We can do so much more for your tribe if you help us out. And I’ll make sure the dumb dwarf there stops hitting you.”
The goblin goes a bit quieter, whispering even though the other can't understand them.
"You kill Boss Klarg. That make Yeemik leader now. He in the eating cave with the hoo-man. King Gol in the castle north of here, in the wood place. Never see King Gol, but he send message to Boss Klarg a few days ago. Wanted him to look for the dwarf to catch and take him and his things to King Gol."
The goblin groans slightly as it holds its side where the magic missile struck it.

”Here’s the plan Gurko. Tell us which way the eating cave is and then you go in the opposite direction. Meet us at the mouth of the cave. I’ll come find you when we’re done. You may be king here soon.”
I give out a laugh after my statement. I look over the wound and try to patch it.
Chad believes that the goblin is telling the truth. It seems logical as it's the best way for the goblin to survive from its perspective.
The goblin looks to Chad, then speaks the next bit in common. "The eating cave over bridge. Other goblins in there with hoo-man. Me go hide outside, go follow stream. No wanna die."
I talk to the group after the goblin flees. “That’s Gurko. He’s cool. Anyways, there’s another part of the cave across the bridge. Sildar is over there. Gundrun is in a castle north of here where he’s being held by the goblin King.” I look over at Realgar knowing his perpetuance for violence. “We should take the bugbears head with us and try to negotiate. There’s a new leader now the boss is dead. Maybe the new leader wants to live longer than poor Klarg there.”
Realgâr says, "Knock it off 'dwarf'? You were triggerin' traps, settin' everything on fire on the way here, and attackin' chained wolves sir!
Anyway, him and his friends tried killin' us and I didn't believe he was surrendering, so I tested his intention with a harmless knock on the head. If you're suggestin' replacin' one inherently evil creature with another, then that's not a good idea. Three of us have nearly died within the past few minutes at their hands, includin' myself. I'm only toleratin' this Gurko because he surrendered and sounds like he gave some information to you. If he wants to go hide, so be it."

Realgâr is somewhat suspicious at the idea of putting another, traditionally, evil creature in charge of this place and wonders if Chad is on the side of evil

Realgâr ignores what is going on with Gurko and proceeds to look around at the belongings of the other bodies on the ground and then searches the room for anything of note.
”Well I would agree with you my short friend. My tactics aren’t exactly orthodox but they haven’t killed anyone yet. Plus Gurko seemed alright. I mean this is their home we invaded. I’d probably be pissed too if a bunch of ******** stormed Gloomblast Manor and starting killing the maids and butlers.” I brush off my cloak. “And I’m not suggesting anything. I suggest we use the cards were dealt to get Sildar back without risking death considering a few of us have been there already. “
You're still unsure of the motive of Chad. He has very unorthodox methods. Then again, humans are as varied as they come. He hasn't shown direct evil, and has used some potent spells in aiding taking down the other goblins.
(I'll point out a couple of things that may be pertinent. One is that several of you are still quite injured, and may want to spend time recovering. The second is for Chad and Realgâr)
You did leave another goblin tied up on near the bridge...
Kres will sigh and look the wounds he has taken and sit nearby. "So are we to rest then before going to the eating cave or are we going straight there to rescue the guard."

The bugbear's body slides down the natural chimney. After a few seconds there are some echoes of wolves howling and barking coming from the hole.
The remaining goblin is still there, his hands gestured in surrender.

(If it is not locked, and he does not find any traps, he will open it.)
He then says to the group. "I found a box over here... and I could use a few minutes to tend to my wounds before we venture further."
OOC: If we are taking an official Short Rest, Randaler will use his one and only HD to regain some HP. (HD Roll: 9)
