Unnatural darkness gives you all a claustrophobic feeling, and the light only lights the immediate vicinity around Augustin's shield. To the east is the jumbled stone from the collapsed floor above. West and north there is detritus, which might have been torture equipment at some point - a rack, stocks, with all the wooden parts mostly all gone and the metal parts rusted and warped. The party can hear whispers and faint cries of pain, and when they follow them they seem to come from manacles on all the walls. It looks like prisoners were made to watch what was going to happen to them.
A feeling of dread and horror presses on the party as they make their way through the area, but nothing assaults them. There are stairs going up that lead north. As the party approaches the stairs, a massive skull bathed in purple flames appears before them, and cries out in a low, unearthly voice "Go! Flee!"
