Grimbald talks to the Squirrels (in common). "it's brought me nothing but trouble I tell ya, Magic you say? my scruffy arse. cursed if anything. Now bugger off to the other side of the road. there's bad men and a metal dog coming and they'll think nothing of sticking a stick up your arse and roasting you on a fire if they catch you." All the trouble will be around me until I give to them. Now scurry of why I hide here." 28
Esa plans to cast Faerie Fire as soon as its go time. She wants to wait until there are at least three enemies close enough together near the tree to cast it. If only one comes to investigate Augustin, she tells the others she will use Magic Missile to aim at the spellcaster if they are within range, regardless of who approaches Augustin.
She tells the others that it's unlikely that the spellcaster will come to investigate, as dealing with unwanted beggars is more of a grunts job.
She also isn't a fan of how bloodied Augustins cloak is, so to avoid getting dirty herself, she's begrudgingly flying for herself, while also considering hitching a ride on one of the other party members.
Vakiel will tell the human to keep her head down and stay behind the fence.
He will hold his action until Augustin engages, at which point I will throw a Javelin at the driver (if there is one) or the spellcaster and vault the wall moving towards the cart.

Augustin is going to lumber around, maybe look like he is having a meal and then packing up to go. He knows the party is going to pass so he might try and flag them down (the bad guys) and ask for a lift.
I am not sure what rolls are required so here are some d20s to expediate the process.

The guards are incensed that Augustin, who they see as just a big peasant, did not lower his gaze and instead looked directly at them. Might have even been going to speak to them! The nerve! He needs to be taught a lesson! And maybe see if he has some iron bits to donate to the Iron Circle cause.
(Going to assume Augustin is not actually lumbering about because of the caltrops that Grimbald has dropped).
The two soldiers close on Augustin. One walks into the area with the caltrops. Dex save with disadvantage (if this is working for me) - 7.

Stryke will be along the fence a bit from vakiel.

Going to assume Esa will be in the tree, hiding with or near Grimbald.
The spellcaster
Grimbald will lay caltrops in the vicinity of Augustin and the track (pointing out their location in the grass to Augustin).
Stryke will ready moonbeam to be cast on the horse stopping target the spell caster and however many others fit in a 10 ft cube
Grimbald will hold his action, triggered either by moonbeam or Augustin acting. INIT 5
If Im not replying when combat starts... Grimbald's first action is to offload his acorn at the Spellcaster 9

Stryke would suggest that our scout secure the horse so that it doesnt run away and it stops them trying to escape

Would like to know which direction the cart is coming from and where the humans and dog are in relation to the cart.
Guidance for Grimbald if he is keeping an eye out from up in his tree

The cart is coming from the top of the mud map to the bottom.
The spellcaster and one Iron Circle guards are on the bench at the front of the cart, the guard is holding the reins.
Three Iron Circle guards walk alongside the cart, two on the side closest to the stone wall, one on the other side.
The iron dog moves ahead of the horse on the track, glowing eyes looking for threat. The eyes lock on Augustin but it makes no move to attack.
The guards are incensed that Augustin, who they see as just a big peasant, did not lower his gaze and instead looked directly at them. Might have even been going to speak to them! The nerve! He needs to be taught a lesson! And maybe see if he has some iron bits to donate to the Iron Circle cause.

Stryke casts Moonbeam on the mage and guard on the wagon and then ducks down prone behind the wall.
Spell DC 13 on a Con save. half damage if save.
11 damage on the start of their turn.
