In well trained unison the two front rank Hobs harass their shield mates enemy while attacking their own.

The caster drops the stick and brings his other hand up next to his right, touches thumbs and fans his fingers in Kargan's direction. Another arcane word leaves his lips and bright orange flames burst out engulfing the dwarf!

Moving deftly away from the oncoming rush whilst continuing to engage his foe Titus continues his attack and attempts to put the slower moving hobgoblin shield wall between him and the new arrivals.

Titus again finds an opening in the Hobs shield wall and his blade takes the life of the warrior opposite him. The Hob falls limp to the forest floor in a pool of his own blood.
Kargan badly singed and smoking again hacks into the more lightly armoured Hob sorcerer. The creature hisses at him, real fear in its eyes.
Breccha still struggling in the darkness of the woods at night is easily fended off. But random fires here and there form the sorcerers last spell are lighting up the battle and he can now see clearly!
As Titus and his barbarian friend move to keep the new comers off their flank they see 4 more Hobgoblin soldiers 50 feet away to the north preparing to advance.
The two wounded Hobs both carefully disengage form you and move 30 feet towards their allies.
OOC: Both enemies take a disengage action, that allows them to move away from combat without triggering attacks of opportunity from anyone, then use their full normal, 30 ft, movement towards their allies.
A large Hob in the center of the new group barks some commands in a harsh guttural tongue. The other Hobs all lock shields, and move forward slowly banging the hilts of their swords on their shields singing a loud war chant.
There is a look of glee in their eyes...

The Worg bleeding from its wounds and breathing hard, launches itself from the ground in a desperate attack. A strange growling laugh ushers from its blood stained maw, "Not good enough 'Pup', at last the stakes are high enough, mercy if for the weak. My master will come for you all if I fall, you have been marked for DEATH!"

"Ha ha shield walls will have little effect here boys! not enough combatants to sway this battle. Keep em occupied and back to back by moving obliquely! "
I deftly scabbard my swords swords and bringing my elven long bow to bear, launch a shaft at the injured hobgoblin mage.
in orcish : "Make peace with your ancestors currs, you'll be meeting them soon!"
Kargan takes a moment to catch his breath and shake off the pain of the fire. Shouting encouragement and tactics to his friends he makes ready to fight again.
Titus, in a smooth practiced motion, sheaths his swords and draws bow and arrow and fires! The Shaft hits the spell slinging Hob square in the chest and he goes down screaming.
Breccha, heeding dwarfish wisdom, moves to flank as he launches a hard tipped javelin at the Hob shouting commands. He is rewarded by an angry grunt of pain as javelin hits the commander in the shoulder, his armour taking the brunt of the attack. He reaches up tugs the shaft free, a slow spreading patch of blood shows that this was not an inconsequential wound.
The angry Hob commander smoothly draws a bow and arrow, and launches the cloth yard shaft at Breccha in reprisal.
The arrow flies over Breccha's shoulder, harmlessly into the night.
The Original Hob soldier waits for his comrades to join him in their advance. Seeing how the companions are spreading out to break up their shield wall they split into three groups of two to counter and gain the upper hand again. Their commander remains 40 feet back in an over-watch position looking for good targets.
OCC: The Hobs will join you in melee next round two a piece!

Weathering the ferocious charge you stands your ground, the Worg thuds into you and you counter with a savage mauling attack. You fling the lifeless stinking body to the ground, the red fire in its eyes dying slowly.

I make sure that the worg and 2 other beasts are dead before investigating the stand of trees.

If all is well, I will start the long journey back to the woods, shaking off the fatigue that is starting to encroach on my senses, satisfied that the threat to the town is quashed.
Kryinor inspects the bodies of the two creatures and the Worg. They are all indeed dead. Moving to the woods only tracks and some evidence of the earlier hiding spot of the two creatures is evident.
The young Druid begins moving north again towards the early morning rendezvous with his companions in the Neverwinter Woods.
OOC: The Worgs minions were a modified velociraptor :) Large mount sized reptiles presence in this adventure may become clear later :P

For the first time you all see concern on the faces of the Hobs you're fighting.
The two Hobs moving towards Titus advance with more caution now.
