Taken aback, Taalomar starts to point and seem ready to say something to Ja'han, but stop short, realizing belatedly the error. He turns back to the source of blood with a snort, and touches a spot just beneath it.
"There. See? Blood. Old, but plentiful across symbols. Was thinking key perhaps. Maybe? Then thought too much! Way too... Ohh! Get I it now. Repeat usage. Sadly, I'm no ranger though, so can't give how long ago. But, if blood needed to open door, well... I myself cannot provide it. Uh... uhm... Bless'n of father would interfere, I think."
Taalomar chuckles nervously, and at that point does his best to avoid meeting anyone's gaze.

Wallace looked around at the symbol."Well, the obvious solution would be for one of us to cut ourselves for the blood, however..."He looked out to the area around them, "It likely wouldn't take more than a few moments to hunt a squirrel or small bird to serve the same purpose. Just on the off chance that we're offering blood to some pact with Bhaal or some magical nonsense like that."
Ja'han sighed, evidently worried about this whole blood magic business. "Well, let's hope that worked and doesn't bring about any bad consequences down the road. I don't agree with you much, but I would hate to see anything happen to you, friend," he says to Dekker, patting the druid on the shoulder with a smile.
Taalomar sighs as well, and yet still could not bring himself to look at the others. Instead, he drifts back into the passage, fully intent on being the first through the door should it react with shield and coin at the ready. And if after a minute nothing changes, well, it's right back to plan 'A' for him. Only this time nothing short of injury or physical restraint will he keep from hammering the door down.
As Dekker presses his hand against the seal, the entire symbol turns bright blue for a second as you hear the sound of stone moving from inside the cavern.
Taalomar watches as the door slides away into the wall, revealing a passage behind it.
As you all walk into the next room, you see that this room is covered in what appears to be idols to Bhaal. Against the left hand wall sits a shrine, caked with the blood from years of use, and lit by dim, dying candles. The right hand wall has chains and shackles descending from it, and has wooden barrels pushed into a corner, 5 in total, all sealed shut. There is a wooden door in the wall opposite where you came in. As you are looking, you see that there appears to be a body on the shrine, lying on its side, facing the wall.

Making his way into the chamber, Dekker puts away his weapon. As he observes the.. Scenery.. The humanoid figure on the shrine stands out to him most of all. He squints as he tries to get a better look at it's state before continuing in any further.

Wallace keeps his back close to the wall, bow ready. He glances over at the barrels, but decides to wait until Dekker finishes checking the body before examining them closer.
Taalomar couldn't help but comment at the sight. Though he stuck fairly close to Dekker, his gaze continued to drift over the dim rooms contents. Eventually, he grew tired of the lack of light; so, the coin's ongoing radiance is given more room to breathe. Once the room is lit up once more, he sought to examine both floor and candles, hoping to better gauge how long ago a living soul might've been there.
Dekker, you cannot tell whether the body is alive at all from where you stand. It does not seem to be moving, at least as far as you can tell.
Taalomar, you notice that there does not seem to be any dust in the room, and you see that the candles seem to have been used recently, maybe in the past day or two.
"You can almost taste the evil of this place in the air you breathe... Be vigilant, friends; the servants of Bhaal are cunning and dangerous," Ja'han announces to his comrades, keeping a hand at his side in case he needs to draw his blade.
The monk makes his way to the altar to inspect the humanoid figure and see if he can recognize anything about them.
As you approach the body Ja'han, you can see that there is a large cut across the man's throat, where he was apparently bled out. It seems that he was killed maybe 2 days ago, by your best guess.

Wallace sighs, "I suppose we'll only be seeing more of this in a necromancer's lair." He scans around the room, then approaches the barrels. "But I suppose that's why we're here. To stop any others from becoming victims." Wallace then checks out the barrels to see what may be inside.
Taalomar turns to the others having fully completed his inspection. He spares the corpse only a brief glance before awkwardly looking away. After another moment of silence he takes a deep breathe, seeming to brace himself for something.
"... Much as it may pain you all to hold off on other rituals, we must carry on quickly. Our Quarry could not have been here more than two days ago. So! Unless wish find clues of purpose here beyond... bleh... Worship of dark god. We press on deeper, yes? And put end to further danger!"
In spite of the bit of cheer the dwarf tried to put into his words at the end, the hollow note beneath it is clear.

Wallace, as you look inside the barrels, you realize that they are filled to the brim with polished bones, looking as if they were meticulously cleaned and placed there.
As you all approach the entrance to the next room, you hear a low groan come from the other side of the door.
"It sounds like we've got some company awaiting us..."Ja'han says upon hearing the groan from the door. He draws his sword and looks to his companions. "How shall we proceed?"

Dekker turns the thought of hunting harmless wildlife around in his mind. He looks visibly distressed.
"I'm sorry, Wallace, but I cannot stand by and let that happen."
A somber expression washes across his face as he pats Wallace on the shoulder and makes his way forward to the symbol.
"However..."
Dekker says, as he brandishes a small blade.
"I, myself, am not above such a task"
Dekker then cuts a small wound across his palm, drawing a bit of blood. Afterwards, he presses his hand against the rune in an attempt to activate it.
"Hopefully you lot are correct, and this wasn't for nought."

As Taalomar presses on, Dekker follows close behind, patting Ja'han on the shoulder as he passes by.
"Onwards and upwards, friend..."
He utters, as he wraps a bit of cloth around his bloody hand, trying not to show any signs of pain or discomfort it might haven given him.

Once Ja'han makes his way to the altar and inspects the body, Dekker follows, no longer worried over anything jumping out at him.
"Poor soul..."
Dekker laments, as he pulls two copper coins from a pouch and places them over the eyes of the body.
"Death is only a horizon, and a horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight."
Dekker would then like to ritually cast Gentle Repose on the body.

"Aye, Taalomar."
Dekker nods in agreement, stepping away from the corpse and back into formation.
"Let us press on, then."
