OOC- soooo The intent here was for the group to surprise the goblins.....and provide advantage to the group. Since surprise doesn't necessarily give advantage on it's own I will adjudicate that the goblins are still facing away from the group...This does give advantage since you are unseen at the moment of your strike....
This round you have surprise and advantage on the goblins.....Play on....
The goblin boss crumples under Matheris' devastating attack... Goblin 2 is nearly finished...Flames severely burning the creature.
Faith is up....Karea and Lena can both act as well. Lena Init is temporarily 14 until rolled officially to place them before the goblins.
Unless Karea can find a patch of true darkness, she runs forward at an impressive 40 ft. per round clip. She goes behind the leader, not quite within the other goblins' striking range, then executes a flurry of attacks; two sword slices followed by a kick. Her sword seems to glow with moonlight, as she activates favored foe for the first attack that hits, adding 3 to that attack's damage, and her first attack against the goblin boss each turn until she loses concentration.
Attack: 25 Damage: 6
Attack (dread ambusher): 11 Damage: 14
Attack: 25 Damage: 5

Init roll of 9 in game log (I tend to use that rather than forum roller)
OOC, surprised condition still fits. You are correct that it doesn't grant advantage, but it does grant effectively a free turn which is far more useful.
Seeing a group of clearly non-goblinoids attack her quarry, Lena lowers herself from her hidden perch. She watches the first volley of attacks strike hard, and readies her own weapon, a sleek hand crossbow made of dark mahogany wood, with varnished whorls and a prominent grain making the weapon as decorative as it is deadly. Lena herself approaches quietly with her footfalls landing softly on the grassy floor, quite a feat considering the overlapping metal plates that form her armor, painted in mottled greys and blacks, only slightly muffled by the mesh and netting that is interwoven into the ensemble.

Matheris goes to get the goblin and comes back.

With a signal with his hands, he motions to move into the cavern.... He heads into the cave on the eastern side of the stream.
Just inside the cave mouth, a few uneven stone steps lead up to a small, dank chamber on the east side of the passage. The cave narrows to a steep fissure at the far end and is filled with the stench of animals. Savage snarls and the sounds of rattling chains greet your ears where three wolves are chained up just inside the opening. Each wolf’s chain leads to an iron rod driven into the base of a stalagmite.
What do you do?

Faith follows Matheris, into the dank caves. He looks around, looking to see what is beyond the Wolves. Is there anything in these caves worth progressing past?
If they’re guard wolves, chained to detect and alert goblins further in, it is worth keeping them quiet before they howl.
“Rations,” Faith whispers, “throw them some meat? Enough to keep them quiet.”
The wolves quiet down for the moment. You can see a fissure behind the wolves as this alcove has a chimney of sort. It appears like food scraps and bones.
