The Cultist backs away at first, clearly doubtful that Castien won't attack as soon as his back is turned. Once he feels he's a safe distance away, he turns and runs.
Castien turned and headed back to the church, slowly shifting back into human as he did ( 1 hour up ), his shirt is torn and now hanging off of him, he’ll need to replace it when he goes back to Wyndshire, but before he can continue the mission he must check what the Church of Ezra think, without Brother Benjamin he’s unsure how to proceed
His gut tells him to move ahead with the mission, but he doesn’t want to risk the wrong call of judgment. Once back inside the church he puts on his backpack, hat and long leather coat, then heads straight for his horse, he gets on and rides off back towards Wyndshire to hopefully find the body and deal with the cult
The ride through the night is strangely, almost unnaturally, quiet and uneventful. Ahead, Castien sees the low, squat outline of the mausoleum and the surrounding field of tombstones, the first signs that he has returned to Wyndshire.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Castien rode up to the tavern, being a werewolf was quite exhausting and right now, he just wanted to rest but before he could do that, he went to the counter and hoped that Pick was still awake
The tavern is mostly empty, except for a single patron in a chair in the corner, slumped and snoring. Pick is at the bar, busying himself with cleaning. At the the sound of the door his head jerks up, his eyes alert for danger.
"Oh, it's you," he says with a smile, "I was starting to get worried."
Castien said dismissively, he was tired hope he didn’t come across as rude but really wasn’t in the mood for polite conversation, not when he had to focus on work
” I’m just curious, do you have a messenger service? “
"Depends on where your message is going. There's no courier service, but I know some reliable folks who don't mind transporting a letter with them when they travel.
“ Can we discuss this in private? I don’t want the message to be intercepted by anyone who maybe listening “
Castien explained because he couldn’t trust anyone with what he learned, he needs to sort out this cult but if they get in his way, it’s going to be more difficult and he has yet to identify whose a member and whose not
“ Borca, via a trustworthy means. Do you have an owl or raven service? “
Because he trusts animal messengers more so than people, people have a tendency to be curious and ask for payment for their services
“ The reason for all of this is there has been a murder of one my informants, I cannot trust just any traveler to handle the delicate information that I have learnt tonight, as I mean to shut down the cult and free this town for good. “
"Borca, that'd be young Rodrick. He makes the trip about once a fortnight. Good man, I'd trust him with anything, but you'd be waiting a week or more before your letter arrives. How urgent is it?"
“ Extremely. I need to know how to proceed with the mission via the Church of Ezra, but I don’t have the information I was meant to get from Brother Benjamin, so taking the cult down is going to be harder. “
Castien explained, he was blaming himself for stopping off at this town and not getting to Brother Benjamin quickly, that should’ve been his first priority and now he’s paying the price
“ Best, I can wait a few days during which I will keep a low profile and investigate as much as I can on my side. “
A man is dead and it could’ve been avoided, if he didn’t bother with getting himself comfortable in this town
“ Will she be safe? I don’t want to put your daughter in any danger, but if you’re sure she’ll be fine, then I agree with you, Nave maybe our best option.”
Castien said in agreement, he didn’t want to put either of them in an unnecessary and potentially dangerous situation, but he unfortunately had no other choice.
"Can't ever guarantee that the roads will be safe, but Nave's savvy enough to avoid most of the dangers. I can't speak for her though. I can only offer to ask her if she would be willing to do it. The choice is hers."
“ Then please do, she may well be our best option. In the meantime, I will be investigating the graveyard and wondering if you could suggest any side quests? There are items I must require for this investigation, but I’m afraid my funds are running low “
Castien explained to Pick, he was good at multitasking but the likelihood that this investigation will be far from over was high, it could likely extend past the graveyard but without further investigation, this is just speculation at the moment

The Cultist nods. He mimes digging in the ground and then praying over the hole.
“ In the graveyard, undoubtedly it’s the newest grave “
Castien looked back towards the church he came from and could feel the change nearing, but he’s been given enough information to be happy with
“ As promised, you may have your life and may leave. “
The kindest thing would be to kill the cultist and put him out of his misery, but that is not what the cultist asked for, so he will keep his word

Pick looks at the one, passed out drunk with a bemused expression.
"Sure, why don't we step in back?"
“ It’s not the drunk I’m worried about “
Castien admitted when he pointed to the inn upstairs, anyone could come out and listen to them
“ At the moment Pick, you’re the only man in this town I can trust “
He admitted as he walked to the back room again and perched himself on top of a barrel of ale

Pick strokes his chin a bit.
"I could probably ask Nave to carry it for you."
